North Carolina and West Virginia enter this game with identical 8-4 records. I would give the strength of schedule edge to the Tar Heels as the ACC was good from top to bottom. There is also the fact that 2 of the Tar Heel out of conference games were against Big East teams, that are in Bowl games, and they ripped them apart. The Heels beat Connecticut 38-12, and Rutgers on the road 44-12. They also beat another Bowl team out of conference in Notre Dame. Their only loss of the season by more than 3 points came at the hands of a red-hot NC State team. They will also have T.J. Yates back at QB for this one which should help stabilize the offense. West Virginia was thought to have had a BCS Bowl type team this season but it never materialized. The offense was supposed to be electric behind Pat White, and Noel Devine, but it fizzled more than it clicked. Their last 2 games saw the Mountaineers put up just 1 TD off a sustained drive, and 1 other on a 54 yard White run. They played under the line all season as they covered just 4 times on the season despite winning 8 games. I like the Heels that have the speed on the edges to contain the threats of Devine and White.
