At 8:15 pm, our selection is on the Detroit Lions minus the points over Dallas.  The Lions have been an ATM machine since Dan Campbell arrived in Motown, and they're especially good when playing an opponent which is not off a loss.  In that situation, the Lions have gone 30-6 ATS so long as the Lions weren't favored by more than 7 points.  And if Detroit lost its previous game, then our 30-6 ATS stat zooms to 10-0 ATS.  With Detroit, indeed, off a loss last week to Green Bay, we'll lay the wood with the Lions on Thursday night.  Good luck, as always...Al McMordie.

At 7 pm, our selection is on The Citadel Bulldogs + the points over Davidson.  The Bulldogs have gotten off to a nightmarish 2-6 start, including 0-6 SU/ATS vs. Division 1 foes.  Their 69-41 defeat over the weekend vs. Presbyterian was their worst game yet, as they failed to cover the 8.5 point spread by 19.5 points.  We'll take the Bulldogs to bounce back, as road teams have gone 306-250 ATS following a game where they scored less than 42 points.  Take The Citadel.

At 7 pm, our selection is on the Rider Broncs + the points over Merrimack.  The Broncs come into tonight's game on a 3-game SU/ATS losing streak, including an upset loss at the hands of Coppin St. nine days ago.  We'll grab the points with Rider, as it's 13-6 ATS vs. Conference foes in the regular season, if Rider was off an upset loss.  and Merrimack is a miserable 0-9 ATS vs. foes off 3 SU/ATS losses.  Take Rider.

At 9 pm, our selection is on the Montana Grizzlies minus the points over North Dakota St.  Montana will look to rebound off back to back losses to Lamar and Oakland.  We'll take the Grizzlies tonight, as they're 17-7-2 ATS at home off back to back losses, including 11-1 ATS vs. foes off a SU loss.  Lay the points.

At 8 pm, our selection is on the Evansville Purple Aces minus the points over Ball State. At 7 pm, our selection is on the Towson Tigers minus the points over Cornell.  The Big Red won all 5 games this season when they were not the underdog.  But when catching points, Cornell is an ugly 0-3 SU/ATS, with losses to Kent St., Illinois St., and George Mason.  I look for Towson to stretch this streak to 4 games, as the Tigers are 31-17 ATS when priced from -5.5 to -8.5 points, and 10-0 ATS their last 10 (and 19-5 ATS their last 24) at home following a game where they failed to cover the spread.  With Towson off a 14-point loss at UC San Diego (as a 1.5-point underdog), we'll lay the points with the Tigers.

At 12 Noon, our selection is on the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles + the points over Lipscomb.  The Bisons enter this game on a 3-game SU/ATS win streak, while the Golden Eagles have lost their last two games, both SU and ATS.  We'll take the Golden Eagles to bounce back, as Lipscomb is a 9-20 ATS off 3 (or more) wins, and 40% vs. foes off back-to-back SU/ATS losses.  Additionally, these two teams met in Cookeville two seasons ago, and the Bisons blew out Tech, 96-65.  The Golden Lions are 30-10 ATS when they lost the previous meeting by 9+ points.  Take Tennessee Tech.

At 8 pm, our selection is on the Sam Houston St. Bearkats + the points over Oklahoma St.  The Bearkats upset Idaho on Friday, 94-68, for their fourth straight win.  The Bearkats are 14-7 ATS off an upset win, and 42-28 ATS off back to back wins.  Grab the points.

At 7:10 pm, our selection is on the Cleveland Cavaliers minus the points over the Indiana Pacers.  The Cavs are on a 3-game SU/ATS losing streak after falling to Boston, 117-115, at home, on Sunday.  We'll take Cleveland to bounce back as it's 51-27 ATS as a favorite of -6 (or more) points vs. losing foes, if Cleveland was off back-to-back losses.  Lay the points.

At 2 pm, our selection is on the Tennessee Chattanooga Mocs minus the points over Tennessee State.  Dan Earl's Mocs have quietly gone 33-9 SU and 23-13-2 ATS in their last 42 games.  And this success earned Earl last season's Southern Conference Coach of the Year award.  Last season, the Mocs suffered a disappointing loss in the SoCon Tournament's semifinals, when it was upset by the 5th-seeded Furman Paladins, 80-77.  But the Mocs re-grouped and went on to win the NIT Tournament, going 5-0 SU/ATS in that tourney.  This season, the Mocs are again expected to win the Southern Conference, but started the season just 1-3.  However, it was a big underdog in two of those games, which were against powers:  St. Mary's and UNLV.  This afternoon, the Mocs will take on cross-state rival, Tennessee State.  We'll lay the points, as the Mocs are 10-0-2 ATS their last 12 when priced from -5 to -16 points, while the Tigers are 14-25-1 ATS when catching between 6 and 17 points.  Take Chattanooga.  Good luck, as always...Al McMordie.

At 3:30 pm, our selection is on the LSU Tigers + the points over Oklahoma.  The Tigers are riding a 5-game ATS losing streak.  But we'll step in and grab the points, as SEC Conference teams have covered 66.1% as road underdogs since 1980 on 3-game (or worse) ATS losing streaks, if their opponent was off a SU win.

At 3:30 pm, our selection is on the Tennessee Volunteers minus the points over Vanderbilt.  It's been 12 years since the last time the Commodores owned a better record than their cross-state rival at the time of the match-up.  But that's the case this weekend, as Vandy is 9-2, while Tennessee is 8-3.  Still, the Volunteers have dominated Vanderbilt, with a 38-7 SU record since 1980, including a 36-23 beatdown last year as a 10-point road favorite.  The point spread is much less this season, of course, as Vandy's scoring margin is 2.18 ppg better than Tennessee's.  And Vandy also comes into this game on a 2-game win streak (and 5-game ATS win streak).  We'll fade the red-hot Commodores, as SEC Conference teams have gone 31.4% ATS as underdogs since 1980 off back to back SU/ATS wins.  Take Tennessee to blow out Vandy.  Good luck, as always...Al McMordie.

At 3:30 pm, our selection is on the Army Black Knights + the points over Texas-San Antonio.  The Black Knights suffered an upset loss at home last week vs. Tulsa, 26-25, as a 10-point favorite.  But Army's been a reliable road underdog in Conference games, cashing 60.8%, while the Roadrunners are 1-7 ATS at home vs. foes off an upset loss.  Additionally, .500 (or better) underdogs of more than 6 points, with a defense that allows at least 6.5 ppg less than their foe, have cashed 67% over the past 46 years off an upset loss.  Take Army.

At 3 pm, our selection is on the Texas State Bobcats minus the points over South Alabama.  The Jaguars upset Southern Miss last week, 42-35, as a 2.5-point home dog, for their second straight win.  We'll fade the Jags on the road, as they're 5-18 ATS off back to back wins (including 0-7 ATS on the conference road), and they have also cashed just 35% the past 46 years off an upset win.  Take Texas State.

At 2 pm, our selection is on the Stetson Hatters + the points over Southern Utah.  The Thunderbirds lost at Robert Morris, 61-54, but covered the point spread as an 8.5-point underdog.  We'll fade Southern Utah, as it is 0-10 ATS its last 10 off a point spread win.  Take Stetson + the points.

At 1:00 pm, our selection is on the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs minus the points over Alcorn State.  The Braves snapped their 7-game losing streak with a win over Indiana State, as a 13-point underdog.  But we'll fade Alcorn St. off that upset, as Louisiana Tech is 15-1 SU and 14-2 ATS vs. foes off upset wins, while the Braves are 5-12-1 ATS off an upset win.  Take Louisiana Tech.

At 1 pm, our selection is on the VMI Keydets + the points over Central Florida.  The Keydets were blown out, 81-48, by Bowling Green on Thursday.  We'll take VMI to bounce back on Saturday, as it is 12-3-1 ATS off a loss by 15+ points.  Meanwhile, the Knights are 8-19-1 ATS vs. foes off losses by 7+ points.  VMI falls into a 156-84 ATS system of mine which plays on certain teams off blowout losses.  Take the Keydets.

At 1 pm, our selection is on the Central Florida Knights + the points over BYU.  The Knights won last week, 17-14, but failed to cover the spread vs. Oklahoma St.  And that was UCF's fourth straight ATS loss.  We'll grab the points with UCF, as teams off 4+ ATS losses, but a SU win in their previous game, have gone 224-180, 55.4% ATS, since 1980.  Additionally, the Knights fall into an 82-38 ATS system of mine.  Grab the points.

At 7:40 pm, our selection is on the Chicago Bulls minus the points over Charlotte.  The Hornets are on a 7-game losing streak and have been installed as a small home underdog vs. the Chicago Bulls.  I don't want any part of the Hornets in this price range, as they're 22-40 ATS their last 62 when not getting 4+ points, including 12-27 ATS at home.  Meanwhile, the Bulls are 13-5 ATS their last 18 off a SU loss, and 15-3 ATS their last 18 vs. the Hornets.  Lay the points.  Good luck, as always...Al McMordie.

At 7 pm, on Friday, our selection is on the Pittsburgh Panthers + the points over Ohio State.  The Buckeyes are 6-0 this season, but all 6 games were at home.  And 5 of the 6 were against cupcakes, as Ohio State was favored  by 34 vs. IU Indy, 24 vs. Fort Wayne, 23 vs. Appalachian St., 26.5 vs. Western Michigan, and 29 vs. Mount St. Mary's.  Those 5 teams' have an average ranking of 283 at KenPom.com (there are 365 teams in Division 1).  The Buckeyes' only game vs. a quality opponent was when it hosted Notre Dame (currently rated #73), and Ohio State won by 1 point, 64-63, as a 9.5 point home favorite.  Teams playing on an opponent's home court for the first time, at Game 7 (or later) that have a scoring average of +25 (or more) ppg, are 1-9 ATS their last 10.  And they're also 16-34 ATS when priced from +2.5 to -15.5 points.  We'll fade Ohio State in this step-up in class on the road.  Grab the points with Pittsburgh.  Good luck, as always...Al McMordie.

At 5:10 pm (note the early start time), our selection is on the Boston Celtics + the points over Detroit.  The Pistons are firing on all cylinders, and enter the TD Garden on a 13-game win streak.  These two teams met three days before Detroit's streak began, and the Pistons bested Boston that night, 119-113.  We'll grab the points with the Celtics, who are 18-6 ATS when playing with revenge, while Detroit is 4-10 ATS its last 14 when playing a revenge-minded foe.  Take Boston.

At 4 pm, our selection is on the Gardner-Webb Runnin' Bulldogs + the points over Navy.  The Bulldogs are 0-6 this season.  But three of those losses were to major conference foes like Clemson, DePaul and Richmond.  This afternoon's game is Navy, from the Patriot League.  The Midshipmen have been miserable when laying a large amount of points, including 9-19 ATS when favored by 7 or more.  Take Gardner-Webb.

At 7 pm, our selection is on the Houston Christian Huskies minus the points over Bellarmine.  The Huskies are 13-4 ATS their last 17 as a favorite (or PK), while the Knights are 21-36-2 ATS as an underdog, including 2-12 ATS vs. foes off a win by more than 12 points.  With Houston Christian, indeed, off an 18-point blowout win, we'll lay the points with the Huskies.
