10-27-23 | Diamondbacks +152 v. Rangers | Top | 5-6 | Loss | -100 | 42 h 46 m | Show |
Arizona at Texas 8:00 ET Diamondback over Rangers- So. whose ‘mojo’ is stronger...both of these clubs have used the underdog role to their advantage can be said that Arizona who had the worst qualifying record to make the playoffs and it may be Arizona as few expected them out of them. I can not say that I expected it but we did play them all the way and here we are, Player by player match-ups really mean little in the playoffs and stats put up by the winners are hard to grasp both good and bad. Arizona’s Zack Gallen the All-star game winner had a rocky second half and his last five playoff deciding games have not gone well. In his last 28 innings he’s surrendered 31 hits with six homers and 15 earned runs actually going 2-0 over that span. Mojo is a bitch and difficult to overcome when up against it. Texas starter Nathan Eovaldi has won four straight postseason starts not including his three appearances over eight innings in the 2018 Word Series against the Dodgers surrendering just three hits and one run on a Max Muncy home run. But alas, as it appears to me the baseball Gods may have ordained the Diamondbacks...Take ARIZONA! |
10-27-23 | Knicks v. Hawks | 126-120 | Loss | -109 | 7 h 24 m | Show
New York at Atlanta 7:30 ET Hawks over Knicks- Both of these clubs missed the mark in their respective openers as New York went 1-for-9 down the stretch and 0-for-3 from the foul line in their loss to Boston. Atlanta had the same shooting woes making just 17.2 percent from 3-point range ( their lowest 3-point shooting % since facing the Knicks last December. But unlike New York the Hawks shot poorly for three quarters and then put it together in the final 12 minutes but fell short against the Hornets. The mindset for this encounter has the Knicks brooding while the Hawks are soaring off their fourth quarter effort in their loss to the Hornets. |
10-26-23 | Bucs +9 v. Bills | 18-24 | Win | 100 | 27 h 6 m | Show
Tampa Bay at Buffalo 8:15 ET Buccaneers (+) over Bills- Both of these clubs are in the mist of a slide as Tampa Bay has dropped three of their last four and Buffalo has lost three of their past three games. The Bills fell at New England last week and were demoralized after a defeat to an inept Patriots squad hat has been one of the NFL dregs this season. The Bills are fortunate to be over .500 as they could have easily lost the game against the Giants, The Buccaneers are what we believe them to be but have enough to play the over-rated Bills even up. Take TAMPA BAY! |
10-26-23 | Syracuse +3 v. Virginia Tech | 10-38 | Loss | -110 | 26 h 17 m | Show
Syracuse at Virginia Tech 7:30 ET Orange (+) over Hokies- The Orange mood has turned dark as they have dropped three-in-a-row after opening the season with three straight wins with their last coming on September 23 against Army. In their three losses all against ACC teams the Orange have managed just 24 points after scoring 177 points in their four wins. Having had a week off I expect hem to regroup and come up strong against what is not one of the Hokies stronger versions. ‘Orange People’ have won the last two meetings and are 11-8 overall in the series history. Take SYRACUSE! |
10-24-23 | Diamondbacks +155 v. Phillies | Top | 4-2 | Win | 155 | 18 h 56 m | Show |
Arizona at Philadelphia 5:07 ET Diamondbacks over Phillies- Who do you think is feeling more pressure in this Game 7 the heavily favored Phillies or the happy to be here with nothing to lose upstart Diamondbacks. I sort of loaded that like political poll questions. But, we have seen this before as a matter of fact in three previous playoff series this post season. No doubt Philadelphia feels more comfortable at home but they are no longer unbeaten as host in the playoffs. I really don’t believe it matters who the starting pitchers are as the first sign of trouble they’ll get the quick hook. Arizona going with rookie Brandon Pfaadt who has a 2.13 ERA in the postseason and the Brotherly Love boys will send Rangers Suarez 1-0, with a 0.64 ERA in the postseason. Oddly enough in the 141 year history of the Philadelphia Baseball Club they have never played in a Game 7. Suarez is 3-0 in postseason with a 0.94 ERA overall but against the Snakes he is 1-3 with a 5.09 ERA in nine appearances. Phillies have to have some doubt now because you know, they had a chance to win it yesterday. Take ARIZONA! |
10-24-23 | Lakers +5.5 v. Nuggets | 107-119 | Loss | -115 | 16 h 42 m | Show
LA Lakers at Denver 7:30 ET Lakers (+) over Nuggets- Last season I never thought the Lakers had a shot against Denver and the Nuggets playoff sweep proved me right. This time around there have been changes for both clubs and the Lakers talent level is still about the same but Denver may be another matter. The Nuggets will still have the same starting five take the floor but all of what was their support system has been altered. Bruce Brown and Jeff Green are gone, Christian Braun hasn’t had playing time in preseason and neither has Michael Porter Jr. Last season was a first time ever for Denver to eliminate the Lakers from the playoffs and as LeBron James and his supporting cast meaning Anthony Davis were not pleased by the way the Nuggets acted after their win. At 39 years of age he said that he will be motivated against the two-time MVP Jokic as he watches the reigning winners raise their NBA banner and receive their Championship rings. Take LA LAKERS! |
10-23-23 | 49ers v. Vikings +7 | 17-22 | Win | 100 | 17 h 22 m | Show
San Francisco at Minnesota 8:15 ET Vikings (+) over 49ers- There are a number of reasons that ‘we’ should be on San Francisco here but there are more key factors affecting this game that tell us we should not! SF was a 41-yard field goal away from remaining undefeated but without Robbie Gould the Gods made the ‘72 Dolphins smile. Okay, we are all aware of Kirk Cousins failures on Monday Nights (although I believe he broke his hex) and that the 49ers allow the fewest points per game allowing 14.5 PPG and holding opponents QB’s to a league low 67.5% completion rate. Minnesota will be without receiver Justin Jefferson and have no run game to speak of averaging just 75 YPG ranking 30 in total yards and No. 32 in attempts with just 18.8. What they do have is the third ranked passing game with 263.7 YPG and league the NFL in completions per game. Niner’s but are having injury issues to key personal, McCaffrey and Samual are hurting along with QB Purdy and three other starters. Niners won and covered the last two meetings in 2020 and 21 but the Vikings hold a 22-20-1 series edge. Take MINNESOTA! |
10-23-23 | Rangers +116 v. Astros | 11-4 | Win | 116 | 16 h 6 m | Show
Texas at Houston 8:07 ET Rangers over Astros- Why not again...the unexpected has been the theme for this series with visitor winning all six contests which make 10 straight games between these two where the visiting team has won...10 straight! The Rangers have turned to Max Scherzer who was knocked out of his last start the 8-5 Game 3 loss and but has bounced back from poor performances three straight times. Cristian Javier has two appearances against Texas giving up 10 runs in 10 innings but was let off the hook as his mates scored 8 and 12 runs. Take TEXAS! |
10-23-23 | Diamondbacks +168 v. Phillies | 5-1 | Win | 168 | 13 h 11 m | Show
Arizona at Philadelphia 5:07 ET Diamondbacks over Phillies- Philadelphia’s Aaron Nola has been outstanding during the postseason and has had a stellar performance against these Diamondbacks in Phillies Game 2 10-0 win where he struck out seven with no walks with three hits and zero runs. He has defeated Miami, Atlanta and Arizona but this will be this first time that he has faces a club twice in the same series.(if that matters). And, in his final start before the playoffs last season he surrendered eight runs and 10 hits in four innings at Arizona. Merrill Kelly was knocked out in the 10-0 loss giving up four runs on just three hits (2 HRs) but he has been the ‘Snakes’ most consistent starter. I said from the start that this series would go seven games so it has to be...ARIZONA! |
10-22-23 | Dolphins v. Eagles -2.5 | 17-31 | Win | 100 | 18 h 43 m | Show
Miami at Philadelphia 8:15 ET Eagles (-2.5) over Dolphins- This should be a good one and actually could be a SB preview. Keep Tua upright and you have a chance and with Miami’s quick short passing game defenses are on their heels. Eagles old wounded wing after Jets loss and Dolphins will have their full attention. Hurts has hurt Eagles with interceptions but home site is huge for Philly and gives them the edge the need. Take PHILADELPHIA |
10-22-23 | Rangers +110 v. Astros | 9-2 | Win | 110 | 18 h 30 m | Show
Texas at Houston 8:07 ET Rangers over Astros- Why not...the unexpected has been the theme for this series with visitor win all five contests which make nine straight games between these two where the visiting team has won...NINE straight! The way thing have developed the past few days I almost turned to a total with Eovaldi and Valdez taking the hill and they both have excellent post season records. It is the Rangers time to respond and with their backs to the wall they will pull out all stops. Take TEXAS! |
10-22-23 | Packers v. Broncos +1.5 | 17-19 | Win | 100 | 14 h 50 m | Show
Green Bay at Denver 4:25 ET Broncos (+) over Packers- Okay now, the Broncos are 0-3 at home and aside from the losses the common denominator is that they were favored in each contest. This time around they are a small dog to a Packers club with no bite. Wilson is well past his prime and posts valueless stats but the veteran can pull one out over Green Bay’s Love. Take DENVER! |
10-22-23 | Lions v. Ravens -2.5 | 6-38 | Win | 100 | 10 h 26 m | Show
Detroit at Baltimore 1:00 ET Ravens (-) over Lions- The Lions are roaring, winners of four straight and all by double-digits, but things are not perfect as they lost running back David Montgomery and his backup is ailing. Although Detroit showed me plenty at TB last week this is bad spot. They are to play a quality team on the road for the 2nd straight week and the Raven is a clever foe that is constantly under-rated. The best running back on the field will be QB Lamar Jackson and everything will flock around him. Take BALTIMORE! |
10-22-23 | Falcons +3 v. Bucs | 16-13 | Win | 100 | 10 h 24 m | Show
Atlanta at Tampa Bay 1:00 ET Falcons (+) over Buccaneers- The Falcons did everything but win last week as they dominated play against the Commandos possessing the ball for over 36 minutes, holding Washington to 13 FD’s and only 193 total yards on offense. But, there is no accounting for Desman Ridder whose 296 yards passing went by the wayside as three INT’s were the difference. Falcons rookie No. 1 pick Bjian Robinson has yet to score a TD...he gets one here. Buc’s are seeking their level and fall short here. Take ATLANTA! |
10-22-23 | Browns v. Colts +3.5 | Top | 39-38 | Win | 100 | 10 h 22 m | Show |
Chip’s AFC North/South Game of Year Cleveland at Indianapolis 1:00 ET Colts (+) over Browns- No QB, that’s no problem when you have the NFL’s best defense! The Browns are allowing just 204 YPG and ranked #32 passing with only 53% completions allowed. Indy was a major disappointment to many last week as the Colts continue to come up lame, but will have Jonathan Taylor join AFC leading rusher Zack Moss. With ‘MInshew Magic’ Indy has the QB advantage especially over PJ Walker, Robinson or even Watson (no practice this week)! Browns will be off 49ers upset and should get caught on the road as Indy rebounds here.Take INDIANAPOLIS! |
10-21-23 | UCLA -17 v. Stanford | 42-7 | Win | 100 | 26 h 29 m | Show
UCLA at Stanford 10:03 ET Bruins (-) over Cardinal- The Cardinal received dispensation a week ago Friday when the rocked the college football world by coming back from a 29-0 half-time deficit at Colorado. UCLA meanwhile was having fits against Oregon State defense as QB Dante Moore threw three interceptions also got sacked five times. UCLA (4-2, 1-2) is looking to get back on track after facing three straight ranked teams and going 1-2. The Cardinal lost four straight games earlier this season, including 30-23 to Sacramento State, and then fell behind 29-0 in the first half against Colorado. They will get caught here and they are not all that good to start with take UCLA! |
10-21-23 | Phillies v. Diamondbacks +123 | Top | 6-1 | Loss | -100 | 19 h 50 m | Show |
Philadelphia at Arizona 8:07 ET Diamondbacks over Phillies- When in Rome...do what Romans due! When in Arizona do what Snakes a do and when in Philadelphia do what the Phils do...win. I know how good Wheeler is I saw it in New York but Philly is different at the plate here as to the tiny bandbox they play in (actually it’s pretty nice park). But, I can not fight this home team mojo or karma. Take ARIZONA! |
10-21-23 | Duke v. Florida State -13.5 | 20-38 | Win | 100 | 24 h 35 m | Show
Duke at Florida State 7:30 ET Seminoles (-) over Blue Devils- Duke (5-1, 2-0) is one of the surprise teams in the country. The Blue Devils have split prime-time matchups this season, beating Clemson and falling to Notre Dame, and now they get a chance to spoil Florida State's homecoming. Florida State (6-0, 4-0 Atlantic Coast Conference) have playoff aspirations and the Blue Devils have never defeated them in 21 previous meetings, but the contest still looms huge for the Seminoles. The Seminoles, have racked up at least 30 points in 12 consecutive games all wins dating back to last year. QB Jordan Travis is second all-time at Florida State with 9,218 yards of total offense, just 255 yards behind former quarterback Chris Weinke's record. Take FLORIDA STATE |
10-21-23 | Ole Miss v. Auburn +6.5 | Top | 28-21 | Loss | -105 | 23 h 52 m | Show |
Mississippi at Auburn 7:00 ET Tigers (+) over Rebels- Mississippi (5-1, 2-1) is led by QB Jaxson Dart iwho s completing 64.1 percent of his passes through six games for 1,638 yards with 12 touchdowns and just two interceptions. He's also on pace to rush for more than 600 yards. Auburn has struggled through the air against LSU and may look to other options. Auburn holds a 35-12 lead in the all-time series, including a 17-3 mark at home. Ole Miss took a 48-34 win last year in Oxford. But, the Tigers will win here on defense. Take AUBURN! |
10-21-23 | Minnesota +4 v. Iowa | 12-10 | Win | 100 | 20 h 32 m | Show
Minnesota at Iowa 3:30 ET Golden Gophers (+) over Hawkeyes- How this Iowa team is ranked in the Top-25 shows how huge the drop id after the Top-10. Really, the were the ‘toughest’ contest for Penn State and loss 31-0. Minnesota has had two weeks to lick their wounds after a 52-10 beat down by Michigan. Iowa ‘s offense (HA) gained just 247 yards a game rand is ranked #133. Gophers in great spot with two weeks to prepare..one thing tho...Hawkeyes have won eight straight in the series going 6-1-1 ATS. Not this time...take MINNESOTA! |
10-21-23 | Penn State v. Ohio State -4.5 | Top | 12-20 | Win | 100 | 25 h 60 m | Show |
Penn State at Ohio State 12:00 ET Buckeyes (-) over Nittany Lions- Penn State has been outrageous dominating their opponents with what is the No. 1 defense in college football allowing just 194 total yards per game. They also lead the nation’s with a low of 3.4 YPP and a 49.4% completion rate. Now, here’s the rub, they have played UMass, Illinois, Northwestern, Delaware and oh yeah Iowa out-scoring these ‘powers’ 236 to 33. This time out they will be overwhelmed in the second half as they have yet to play ‘hard’ a full 60 minutes. Take OHIO STATE! |
10-20-23 | Phillies v. Diamondbacks +115 | Top | 5-6 | Win | 115 | 8 h 42 m | Show |
Philadelphia at Arizona 8:00 ET Diamondbacks over Phillies- It is difficult for me personally to grasp the concept of bullpen pitchers starting post-season games when a team has had a rotation for 162 games. Arizona is going to an ‘All-staff’ mode in Game 4 of the NCLS and for them hopefully it will keep the Phillies sluggers off balance. But, it appears that the home field is the key factor in this series as Philadelphia’s bats have gone cold in the desert heat. Cristopher Sanchez gets the start for Philly and he has an ERA of 27.00 against the D’backs in 1.2 innings. Take ARIZONA! |
10-20-23 | Astros v. Rangers -106 | 5-4 | Loss | -106 | 6 h 8 m | Show
Houston at Texas 5:05 ET Rangers over Astros- The New York Mets brass get to see their two top starters for the 2023 season work the postseason, unfortunately for them they are pitching for a pair of AL clubs. Max Scherzer starts for Texas and Justin Verlander starts tonight for Houston. He is 1-1 with a 1.42 ERA in the playoffs and his mound opponent is another former New York starter (Yankees) Jordan Montgomery (2-0, 2.08). Monte pitched Game 1 and went 6.2 innings surrendering just five hits and no runs to pick up the win. In his only regular season appearance against the Astros he went 6.2 innings giving up one earned run in a 4-2 win. Take TEXAS! |
10-19-23 | Jaguars v. Saints -116 | Top | 31-24 | Loss | -116 | 32 h 59 m | Show |
Jacksonville at New Orleans 8:15 ET Saints (+) over Jaguars- Three seems to be the key number in this match-up as the Jaguars have won three straight while New Orleans has dropped 3-of-4 with their win coming over hapless New England. Last week public seemed to gravitate against Jacksonville after their stint in London and were surprised at the ease in which they beat the Colts. Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence is banged up but is expected to play while Derek Carr who sat out the previous week had 353 yards passing in last weeks loss and that would be more than enough this week. Take NEW ORLEANS! |
10-19-23 | James Madison v. Marshall +3.5 | Top | 20-9 | Loss | -105 | 19 h 10 m | Show |
James Madison at Marshall 7:00 ET Thundering Herd (+) over Dukes- James Madison is 6-0 and still trail two other clubs Georgia State and Old Dominion in the Sun Belt East and now they will meet their toughest foe the the season on the road. Marshall has dropped their last but are 18-4 straight-up when coming off consecutive losses. This include 8-2-2 ATS as home underdogs to undefeated teams. I expect them to win outright but will be happy to take the points. Take MARSHALL! |
10-18-23 | Astros v. Rangers -123 | 8-5 | Loss | -123 | 8 h 15 m | Show
Houston at Texas 8:05 ET Rangers over Astros- Well, many have expected that Max Scherzer along with Justin Verlander would be pitching in the post season but that was supposed to be with the New York Mets but instead that are hurling for the two AL finalist. Texas is up 2-0 on the defending World Series Champions and will send Scherzer to the hill and he hasn’t thrown in a real game since September 12 and on the 6th he was racked by Houston for seven runs on six hits in just three innings. Cristian Javier is starting for the Astros and he hasn’t allowed a run in his three post season starts surrendering just two hits in 16.2 total innings pitched. So, we have a pair of starters who past performances are atrocious and sublime and I expect a reversal of fortune. Take TEXAS! |
10-16-23 | Cowboys -122 v. Chargers | 20-17 | Win | 100 | 9 h 8 m | Show
Dallas at LA Chargers 8:15 ET Cowboys over Chargers- How bad can a team look...just review the Cowboys/49ers game last week and you could get a good idea. Dallas was totally out played on both sides of the ball and looked like anything other than a Super Bowl contender. The Chargers always seem to be that team that you think is better than they really are or at least to the level of their performance which falls short more often than not, LV opened the season with a pair of losses and then rebounded with wins over Minnesota and Las Vegas before getting last week off. Granted Justin Herbert will be the better quarterback to play today but the Cowboys can play defense. Take DALLAS! |
10-16-23 | Diamondbacks +150 v. Phillies | Top | 3-5 | Loss | -100 | 9 h 10 m | Show |
Arizona at Philadelphia 8:05 ET Diamondbacks over Phillies- Philadelphia is looking to return to the World Series and with Bryce Harper on a mission they are the favorite and will open the NCLS with Zack Wheeler (1-0, 2.08 ERA postseason) he allowed one run and struck out eight in 6 2/3 innings in a win over the Miami Marlins in the wild-card round. He permitted three runs (two earned) and fanned 10 in 6 1/3 frames of a no-decision against Atlanta. He is 6-3 with a 2.96 ERA in 11 career appearances (all starts) against Arizona after splitting a pair of decisions versus the Diamondbacks in the regular season. Arizona will send right-hander Zac Gallen (2-0, 3.18) to the hill and he has been consistent in his two starts in the postseason. He yielded two runs on five hits in each start to help Arizona record a sweep over both the Milwaukee Brewers (in the wild-card round) and Dodgers (in the NLDS). Gallen is 3-1 with a 2.22 ERA in five career appearances (all starts) versus the Phillies. Through it all I spoke of the ‘mojo’ and a case can be made for both sides and this has become the a move for the most unlikely scenario as the Phillies did last season. Take ARIZONA! |
10-15-23 | Rangers +124 v. Astros | Top | 2-0 | Win | 124 | 22 h 34 m | Show |
Texas at Houston 8:15 ET Astros over Rangers- The fact is these two teams ended in a tie and their number pan out to a virtual dead-heat. Texas has won five consecutive games to open this postseason, matching the longest such streak in franchise history and will start left-hander Jordan Montgomery he is 4-2 with a 2.79 ERA in 11 starts with Texas this season and is 1-0 in the playoffs with a 3.27 ERA against the Rays and Orioles. His start on Sunday will be his first career postseason start against Houston and he is 1-1 with a 3.73 ERA over six career starts against the Astros. Now, even more impressive is Justin Verlander whose lifetime record against the Rangers has been dominating as he is 21-8 2.60 ERA ,242 strikeouts in 218 innings only 174 hits surrendered. Besides those incredible numbers he is also 17-11 with a 3.54 ERA in 36 career postseason appearances. Some choice huh...think about this Houston has won seven of the last eight meetings. But as I have said before when a team is playing with ‘mojo’ as the Rangers are things happen...take TEXAS! |
10-15-23 | Eagles v. Jets +6.5 | Top | 14-20 | Win | 100 | 17 h 45 m | Show |
Philadelphia at New York Jets 4:25 ET Jets (+) over Eagles- Talk about a one-sided series and match-up! Philadelphia is 12-0 lifetime against the Jets and have outscored the ‘Green Slime’ by a 335-195 margin dating back 60 years (Ha), I guess the beat-goes-on. The different between the starting quarterbacks could not be more pronounced as Wilson is in his third year struggle and Hurts has become a superstar. The Eagles are soaring into this encounter 5-0 but will be without both defensive ends which will help New York powerful ground game. look for the Jets to fly over the soaring Eagles. Take NEW YORK JETS! |
10-15-23 | Lions v. Bucs +3.5 | Top | 20-6 | Loss | -115 | 17 h 35 m | Show |
Detroit at Tampa Bay 4:25 ET Buccaneers (+) over Lions- Detroit already has a 2-game lead in the NFC North and will travel to meet last years NFL South Division winner. Tampa bay has shown more than what is expected from them so far. The Buc’s have turned to QB Baker Mayfield this season and it appears that he has matured into the position with seven TD passes and better decision making. Tampa is off a bye week after smothering the Saints 26-9 and rely on a defense that has 12 sacks and 10 forced turnovers. The Lions are beset with injuries and their will be no Androcles to hell their wounds. Take TAMPA BAY! |
10-15-23 | Patriots +3 v. Raiders | 17-21 | Loss | -115 | 16 h 0 m | Show
New England at Las Vegas 4:05 ET Patriots (+) over Raiders- My goodness, the Patriots look worse than any expansion team since the original Tampa Bay Bucs when led by John Mckay. New England’s only win this season came against the Jets and they were completely out-played but were aided by Zach Wilson dismal performance. Las Vegas is off a win over green Bay where the Packers did all the could to lose the game and they did despite Raiders coach Josh McDaniels poor in game decision making. Former Patriots QB Jimmy Garoppolo leads the league in interceptions and Belichick despite lesser talent will get over on this one. Take NEW ENGLAND! |
10-15-23 | 49ers v. Browns +10 | 17-19 | Win | 100 | 13 h 1 m | Show
San Francisco at Cleveland 1:00 ET Browns (+) over 49ers- This is getting silly...I know the Niners have been impressive and that Cleveland is down a man at quarterback, but these are still professionals and they all have to man-up when the going gets tough. Yes, Purdy is 10-0 and undefeated as an NFL regular season starter and they just destroyed the impostor Cowboys but, things change on a dime in the NFL. Deshaun Watson is out and replacement Dorian Thompson-Robinson admittedly is terrible which will force the Browns to use their strong running game and a defense that is allowing the fewest yards per game at 196.8. Take CLEVELAND! |
10-15-23 | Panthers +14.5 v. Dolphins | 21-42 | Loss | -110 | 13 h 51 m | Show
Carolina at Miami 1:00 ET Panthers (+) over Dolphins- This is NOT a misprint! Yes, Miami (4-1) is off to their best start in 20 years and Carolina (0-5) to their worst start ever and are the only NFL team with a victory. A pair of former Alabama QB’s will be leading the way with Miami’s Tua Tagovailoa’s who was a mentor to Bryce Young and has 1,614 yards passing. Young has been abused as most rookie quarterbacks are on a huge leaning curve. Dolphin’s will be without explosive running back De’Von Achane and five other starts are either out or questionable. Take CAROLINA! |
10-14-23 | NC State +3.5 v. Duke | Top | 3-24 | Loss | -110 | 20 h 33 m | Show |
NC State at Duke 8:00 ET Wolfpack (+) over Blue Devils- After the way Duke blew the Notre Dame game and cover and I have a sour taste in my month when thinking of this Blue Devil squad. NC State brought in former Virginia QB graduate transfer Brennan Armstrong and he wasn’t able to do the job with the Cavaliers and has been ever worse with the Wolfpack and has been replace by MJ Morris. Duke has been resting since that debacle two weeks ago and may have trouble getting focused. Take NC STATE! |
10-14-23 | Miami-FL +3 v. North Carolina | Top | 31-41 | Loss | -110 | 20 h 38 m | Show |
Miami-Fl at North Carolina 7:30 ET Hurricanes (+) over Tar Heels- How about those Hurricanes! Coming back from a decade of misery Miami-FL was on track to be considered one of the NCAA Finalist and a poor coaching decision and a defensive breakdown squandered their opportunity to remain a contender. North Carolina has one of the and expect Drake Maye to be a first round draft pick but, he will be up against an angry bunch who look to atone for their grave error. Miami led 20-17 and could have knelt on the ball to end the game on a third-and-10 play, as there was just 33 seconds left and the Yellow Jackets had no timeouts remaining, but instead the Hurricanes ran the ball and fumbled it. Moments later, Georgia Tech's Haynes King tossed the game-winning touchdown pass. North Carolina is 13-11 against Miami and has won four straight games in the series. The Hurricanes haven't won in Chapel Hill since 2017. That all changes here. Take MIAMI-FL! |
10-14-23 | Missouri +2.5 v. Kentucky | Top | 38-21 | Win | 100 | 19 h 58 m | Show |
Missouri at Kentucky 7:30 ET Tigers (+) over Wildcats- Two weeks ago Kentucky took down Florida as our SEC Power Play winner and last week we posted Georgia (-14.5) a 51-13 as our Highest-Rated Megabucks winner over the Wildcats and now we look to repeat. Missouri was undefeated and gave LSU everything they had for three quarters before the Bayou Tigers prevailed. The Tigers are a well balanced solid club that has beaten Kentucky seven of eight and have only been the favorite twice and they can beat you a number of different ways. The Wildcats QB Devin Leary has completed just 54.8 percent of his passes for 1,257 yards and 12 touchdowns, with five interceptions, this season. Take MISSOURI! |

10-14-23 | USC v. Notre Dame -2.5 | 20-48 | Win | 100 | 19 h 33 m | Show
USC at Notre Dame 8:00 ET Fighting Irish over Trojans- Notre Dame (5-2) is coming off last weekend's 33-20 loss at then-No. 25 Louisville. Irish quarterback Sam Hartman completed 22 of 38 passes for 254 yards and two touchdowns, but he also threw his first three interceptions of the season. Here comes Southern Cal a perfect 6-0 into the Golden Dome where the Fighting Irish are laying in wait...(like USC alum OJ). Expect the same result! I believe that Notre Dame is better balanced and cam actually play defense. Last week USC escaped Arizona 43-41 in triple overtime posted the victory despite being out-gained 506-365. Saturday will mark the 94th meeting between the programs, and the Irish hold a 50-38-5 advantage in the all-time series. USC won 38-27 last season in Los Angeles and turn-about is fair play. Take NOTRE DAME! |
10-14-23 | Iowa v. Wisconsin -9 | 15-6 | Loss | -110 | 16 h 50 m | Show
Iowa at Wisconsin 4:00 ET Badgers (-) over Hawkeyes- The Hawkeyes have grown used to getting the best of Wisconsin against the number. The Badgers are not an explosive team and never have been as they a ground and pound machine which keep most games rather close especially when play a team with the same likeness, Iowa is always defense first and has been out-gained by 1,031 net yards over the past three games so when these two get together we don’t expect many fireworks. Meanwhile, Wisconsin is 3-0 SUATS with revenge in this series and the defense has been keeping opponents out of the end zone, allowing less than 15 PPG in their three consecutive victories. The Badgers are 8-0 ATS as home favorites of less than 12 points with revenge. Take WISCONSIN! |
10-14-23 | Oregon +3.5 v. Washington | Top | 33-36 | Win | 100 | 15 h 47 m | Show |
Oregon at Washington 3:30 ET Ducks (+) over Huskies- Here is the Pac-12 folding and this is the first time both No. 7 Washington and No. 8 Oregon have been ranked in the Top 10 when meeting in the rivalry's 123-year history. This contest features a pair of quarterbacks who are Heisman Trophy candidates: Oregon's Bo Nix and Washington's Michael Penix Jr. Both the Ducks (5-0, 2-0 Pac-12) and Huskies (5-0, 2-0) are coming off bye weeks that helped them get healthy. Penix is averaging 399.8 yards per game with 16 touchdowns; Nix has an 80.4 completion percentage with 15 TDs. The Huskies defeated the Ducks 37-34 last season in Eugene, Ore., on a 43-yard field goal with 51 seconds remaining. Revenge will be sweet for a team ranked in Top-10 on both offense and defense. Take OREGON! |
10-14-23 | Wake Forest v. Virginia Tech -120 | 13-30 | Win | 100 | 15 h 50 m | Show
Wake Forest at Virginia Tech 3:30 ET Hokies over Demon Deacons- It will be homecoming for the Hokies (2-4, 1-1), who are coming off a 39-17 road setback against then-No. 5 Florida State. Wake Forest (3-2, 0-2 ACC) is facing a two-game skid, and has had shortcomings on offense, especially inside its opponent's 20-yard line, which has eight touchdowns in 23 red-zone trips this season. The Hokies have won six of the last eight meetings between the teams. The Demon Deacons haven't won in Blacksburg since 1983, though they've only made two trips there since then. Take VIRGINIA TECH! |
10-13-23 | Fresno State v. Utah State +5 | 37-32 | Push | 0 | 9 h 60 m | Show
Fresno State at Utah State 8:00 ET Aggies (+) over Bulldogs- Utah State has overcome a 1-3 start with consecutive wins over UConn and Colorado State but neither of those schools is in the same class as Fresno State. Head coach Jeff Tedford is pushing all the right buttons at Fresno, off to a 15-5 start in his second stint at Fresno State. The Bulldog offense was slowed considerably by Wyoming in their first loss last week, Utah State may be able to replicate that work. and they can score at least. Take UTAH STATE! |
10-12-23 | Broncos +10.5 v. Chiefs | Top | 8-19 | Loss | -110 | 26 h 50 m | Show |
Denver at Kansas City 8:15 ET Broncos (+) over Chiefs- I noticed that Russell Wilson is the third rated (106,1) quarterback in the NFL behind Purdy and Tagovaloa, but he doesn’t pass my personal eye test as he has lost a step and goes not to easily. That being said Denver overall has been a major disappointment as their overall play is so substandard especially their defense. Now, Kansas City is who we believe they are am I am wondering just how serious they are taking the Broncos as they have defeated them an unbelievable 15 straight times. The Chiefs are not worried about the Broncos have next week off followed by a home game against the Chargers and may not be fully focused...I hope! Take DENVER! |
10-12-23 | Braves v. Phillies +133 | 1-3 | Win | 133 | 21 h 12 m | Show
Atlanta at Philadelphia 6:10 ET Phillies over Braves- Could this be a repeat of the 2022 playoff series where the Phillies took down the Braves 3-1 in games and won both contests in Philadelphia. The home advantage for the Phillies seem as big as anything as they are now 9-2 in their last 11 home playoff games including a 2-0 sweep of Atlanta last season. The Wahoo’s may have the pitching advantage with Spencer Strider (20-5) getting the start, but these newer ‘Wiz-Kids’ have the mojo on there side. When a team has this kind of karma they are hard to beat and the beat goes on...take PHILADELPHIA! |
10-12-23 | West Virginia v. Houston +3 | 39-41 | Win | 100 | 30 h 40 m | Show
West Virginia at Houston 7:00 ET Cougars (+) over Mountaineers- At 4-1 West Virginia has been a surprise as the defeated TCU in Dallas Two weeks ago and have been resting with a bye since Sept. 30. Houston is a disappointing 2-3 with their wins coming over Sam Houston and UTSA not exactly powerhouses. Cougars coach Dana Holgorsen was the head man at UWV from 2010-2018 and this is his first meeting against his former club. QB Donovan Smith is more than capable having thrown for 336 yards in the loss to Texas Tech. Take HOUSTON! |
10-11-23 | Braves v. Phillies -122 | Top | 2-10 | Win | 100 | 17 h 2 m | Show |
Atlanta at Philadelphia 6:00 ET Phillies over Braves- Hey, how ‘bout those pitching moves made by the Phillies in Game Two...No sense sticking with what is working if I can show every one how smart I am. Yep, that’s how I see it. Now, Aaron Nola is one started that the Phils management allows to pitch deep into games and even sometimes to a fault but not regularly. Nola has already thrown seven shutout playoff innings and he is 15-10 with a 3.40 ERA lifetime against the Braves logging 202 innings and only surrendering 178 hits with 203 strikeouts. Philly is 8-2 in their last 10 home playoff games. Braves with all the rest still haven’t decided who their starter will be, that doesn’t bode confidence to me...Take PHILADELPHIA! |
10-10-23 | Orioles v. Rangers -133 | Top | 1-7 | Win | 100 | 18 h 48 m | Show |
Baltimore at Texas 8:05 ET Rangers over Orioles- It’s too bad at least from my eyes of what is about to happen because although ‘we’ did not play on the Orioles much during the season it was a joy to watch them come to play day in and day out. But, the playoffs are a different animal and if you have never been there before things are just a little different. Now, that withstanding it holds the same for Texas except that that came in starting with a hand that became hot after opener beating Tampa 2-0 and then veteran Nathan Ecvaldi (12-5, 3.65 ERA) closed out the Rays leading the way as they swept the Rays 7-1. Nathan has had clutch playoff performances and his confidence keeps these ferociously vicious Rangers bats relaxed. They are ON the ball. Take TEXAS! |
10-09-23 | Diamondbacks +137 v. Dodgers | 4-2 | Win | 137 | 9 h 34 m | Show
Arizona at LA Dodgers 9:00 ET Diamondbacks over Dodgers- Arizona’s Zac Gallen has had a great season including an All-Star victory but he had one major problem and that was getting past these LA Dodgers. Gallen was 0-2 with a 9.90 ERA against them after having won 17 games and hurled to a 3.47 ERA. Los Angeles’ rookie right-hander Bobby Miller was 11-4 with a 3.76 ERA during the regular season including a win over the D’backs. But, this is the playoffs and with the pressure already on them LA faces a team brimming with confidence. Take ARIZONA! |
10-09-23 | Packers v. Raiders -125 | 13-17 | Win | 100 | 8 h 4 m | Show
Green Bay at Las Vegas Raiders 8:15 ET Raiders over Packers- It did not long before the Las Vegas faithful started to turn on their ‘team.’ Week after week Raider fans are selling their game tickets to visitors that travel to Las Vegas for fun and to root their ‘home’ team. Both clubs are off terrible performances as Green Bay was crushed by Detroit and Las Vegas struggled against the Chargers a rookie Adian O’Connell was forced into action as Jimmy Garappolo was sidelined with concession issues. With ‘Jimmy G’ back the Raiders have the edge over Jordan Love. Take LAS VEGAS! |
10-08-23 | Cowboys +4 v. 49ers | Top | 10-42 | Loss | -120 | 30 h 55 m | Show |
Dallas at San Francisco 8:20 ET Cowboys (+) over 49ers- A rematch of NFC’s playoff contenders that have met in the post season the past tow years with the Niners winning both. San Francisco along with Philadelphia are the two remaining undefeated NFL squads. The Cowboys have three wins of 20 points or more and the 49ers have a pair of 18-point victories. QB Broke Purdy was 20-of-21 last week against Arizona and still hasn’t loss a regular season game as a starter. That ends here! Look for the Cowboys ‘D’ to assert itself. Take DALLAS! |
10-08-23 | Jets v. Broncos -135 | 31-21 | Loss | -135 | 26 h 38 m | Show
New York Jets at Denver 4:25 ET Broncos over Jets- I know what I saw last week and I still am having difficulty processing the results. Denver who we know stinks rallied against Chicago last Sunday with washed-up Russell Wilson leading the way. New York impressed a national audience against Kansas City and got the cover with Zach Wilson playing the best game of his three year career. Talk about an over reaction (people now think that Zach can actually play football) to the Jets QB. The Broncos gained some much needed confidence and are at home where they can they beat the Jets. Take DENVER! |
10-08-23 | Chiefs v. Vikings +3.5 | 27-20 | Loss | -110 | 25 h 25 m | Show
Kansas City at Minnesota 4:25 ET Vikings (+) over Chiefs- Kansas city may have won their third straight game after an opening home loss to Detroit, but they and especially Patrick Mahomes just don’t seem right. Mahomes passer rating is at 92.0 and that is 13 points below his career average. Minnesota dropped their first three games before posting a come-back win at Carolina and have a quarterback in Kirk Cousins ranking No. 3 with 287 YPG and No. 1 with 27 completions per game. Look for vikings to ambush the clubs that defeated them for the AFL’s first Super Bowl victory. Ha! Take MINNESOTA! |
10-08-23 | Rangers v. Orioles -113 | Top | 11-8 | Loss | -113 | 13 h 38 m | Show |
Texas at Baltimore 4:05 ET Orioles over Rangers- Baltimore was able to take a deep breath after their opening series loss 3-2 to the Rangers as they realize this is a best of five series. Texas will send Jordan Montgomery to the hill and he opened the Wild Card round defeating Tampa Bay 2-0 with seven shutout innings and he is 3-1 with a 3.04 ERA in 16 career starts against the O’s. The Orioles send rookie Grayson Rodriguez who closed the season 5-2 in his last 13 starts with a 2.58 ERA. These birds have been the best in the AL all season and I expect them to respond today. Take BALTIMORE! |
10-08-23 | Texans v. Falcons -125 | 19-21 | Win | 100 | 22 h 24 m | Show
Houston at Atlanta 1:00 ET Falcons (+) over Texans- Surprisingly enough C.J. Stroud has been the most successful of the ‘Big-3’ quarterbacks starting as rookies this season. Atlanta has a second year QB in Desmond Ridder who is struggling in this league (I am being kind) but, they do have one of the best young runners in the NFL in Bijan Robinson. There has been an over-action to the Texas winning a few game an they come back to reality this week as the Falcons grind this one out with their superior run game. Take ATLANTA! |
10-08-23 | Jaguars +6 v. Bills | Top | 25-20 | Win | 100 | 20 h 60 m | Show |
Jacksonville vs. Buffalo 9:30 ET Jaguars (+) over Bills- This contest is interesting on so many levels that I don’t really know where to start. I will with the location which is of course London, England and that throws a money wrench at us to start with. Jacksonville has made these games played overseas their home away from home as this is their 12th appearance including a win over Atlanta last week. Buffalo is coming off a huge win over Miami while the Jaguars remained to play for the second week in-a-row. These two met at Wembley Stadium in 2015 with the Jaguars winning 34-31 and I expect much of the same this time around. Take JACKSONVILLE! |
10-07-23 | Oregon State v. California +7.5 | 52-40 | Loss | -105 | 21 h 27 m | Show
Oregon State at California 10:00 ET Golden Bears (+) over Beavers- State’s run defense is ranked fourth nationally but they will be without a pair of standouts for the first hale due to targeting ejections against Utah last week. California rebounded last week with a win over Arizona State after getting whopped by Washington the previous week. Cal’s offense averages 50 yards better than the conference average and will be able to stay with the Beavers- Take CALIFORNIA! |
10-07-23 | Michigan v. Minnesota +20 | 52-10 | Loss | -110 | 19 h 1 m | Show
Michigan at Minnesota 7:30 ET Golden Gophers (+) over Wolverines - Has Jim Harbaugh made it to the sidelines yet for Michigan...yep he has. The Wolverines are 5-0 and won their first road games last week pasting hapless Nebraska 45-7 while unranked Minnesota is off a unimpressive win over non-conference foe Louisiana and the precious week they blew a 21-point lead and lost in OT to Northwestern. The Golden Gophers have won just two of the last 27 meetings but coach PJ Fleck believe that they are ready for this Saturday night prime time meeting. Take MINNESOTA! |
10-07-23 | Kentucky v. Georgia -14 | Top | 13-51 | Win | 100 | 19 h 47 m | Show |
Kentucky at Georgia 7:00 ET Bulldogs (-) over Wildcats- Georgia has won 22 straight games and had to rally from 10-points down to defeat Auburn last week but they never panicked. With this Kentucky entering Athens the Bulldogs will look to bottle up Kentucky star running back Ray Davis who ran for 280 yards against Florida last week. That put Georgia on notice and although the Wildcats are 5-0 they have not seen anything like this Bulldog defense. Pedigree is the difference and the Bulldogs have it. Take GEORGIA! |
10-07-23 | Alabama v. Texas A&M +2.5 | 26-20 | Loss | -110 | 15 h 13 m | Show
Alabama at Texas A&M 3:30 ET Aggies (+) over Crimson Tide- the last time Alabama came to College Station the Aggies pulled off the outright upset 41-38 two seasons ago. bot clubs are 4-1 and tied for the SEC West and 2-0 in conference play. The unranked Aggies, who are just 3-12 all-time against the Crimson Tide and yet the price is under a field goal. Nick Saban and A&M coach Jimbo Fisher have had some heated moments in the past and both will have their respective squads ready and just comes down to who can perform at their opium level and I just don’t believe that the Tide’s talent just isn’t up to it. take TEXAS A&M. |
10-07-23 | Purdue +2.5 v. Iowa | 14-20 | Loss | -105 | 15 h 59 m | Show
Purdue at Iowa 3:30 ET Boilermakers (+) over Hawkeyes- Iowa plays the same way year in and year out they always present a stout defense and very little offense and this year is no different. Never much of a passing team Iowa is worst then ever when throwing the ball and it is such a huge part of today’s game. Deacon Hill relieved Cade McNamara at QB and although the Hawkeyes won 26-16 over Michigan State he was just 11-of- 27 for just 115 yards and will start Saturday. Boilermakers are actually better on both sides of the ball out-gaining the Hawks by 160 yards on offense and defending against the 132 ranked offense that averages just 240.8 ypg. Take PURDUE! |
10-07-23 | Washington State v. UCLA -3 | 17-25 | Win | 100 | 15 h 35 m | Show
Washington State at UCLA 3:30 ET Bruins (-) over Cougars- This contest presents us with an opportunity that happens more often in College basketball. This is when a ranked team is posted as an underdog against an un-ranked team. Here we have No. Washington State 4-0 second in the nation in passing yards per game with 405.8. The Cougars are off a win over Oregon State and have had two weeks to pat themselves on the back while UCLA is off a hard fought loss to Utah and stayed with the Utes going toe-to-toe falling 14-7. A great spot for the Bruins...Take UCLA! |
10-07-23 | Maryland +20 v. Ohio State | 17-37 | Push | 0 | 24 h 26 m | Show
Maryland at Ohio State 12:00 ET Buckeyes (-) over Terrapins- Maryland is 5-0 and all of the Buckeyes opponents this season were undefeated until they played The Ohio State University. The buckeyes scored an emotional victory over Notre Dame last time out and have had two weeks to prepare for (Tau II) Taulia Tagovalioa who already has thrown for 9,343 yards. OSU is 4-0 at home against The Terps winning by an average score of 62.5-18.3 and have scored at least 62 points in the last three home meetings. Take OHIO STATE! |
10-07-23 | Oklahoma +5.5 v. Texas | Top | 34-30 | Win | 100 | 24 h 15 m | Show |
Oklahoma vs Texas 12:00 ET Sooners (+) over Longhorns- There was a time this Red River Rivalry was the biggest experience in college football but educators have mad a mess of that. Both clubs are undefeated and 5-0 and this should have national implications as Texas has already beaten Alabama and Oklahoma is looking to atone for last year’s 49-0 thrashing. Sooners QB Dillon Gabriel was down with an injury last season and he is something the Longhorns will have trouble with. Take OKLAHOMA! 1 |
10-07-23 | Rutgers v. Wisconsin -12.5 | 13-24 | Loss | -110 | 24 h 14 m | Show
Rutgers at Wisconsin 12:00 ET Badgers (-) over Scarlet Knights- Rutgers has come a lone way since entering the Big Ten under coach Greg Schiano and they are 4-1 this season. The Scarlet Knights had their way against Wagner last week pounding the poor undermanned club 52-3. The Knights know what it is like to be on the other end of a rout as Wisconsin is 4-0 versus Rutgers and won the last meetings 52-3. Corn fed badgers too big and powerful for the upstarts form New Jersey. Take WISCONSIN! |
10-06-23 | Kansas State v. Oklahoma State +11.5 | Top | 21-29 | Win | 100 | 19 h 6 m | Show |
Kansas State at Oklahoma State 7:30 ET Cowboys (+) over Wildcats- From what I have seen to date the best thing I can think of to say about Oklahoma State is that teams get better with good coaching and the Cowboys have well respected Mike Gundy at the helm and he is an amazing 14-3 SU when the Cowboys are exactly .500 including 9-0 ATS against teams with winning records. OSU has won seven of eight home meetings since 2003. Take OKLAHOMA STATE! |
10-05-23 | Bears +6.5 v. Commanders | 40-20 | Win | 100 | 9 h 22 m | Show
Chicago at Washington 8:15 ET Bears (+) over Commanders- Washington came through for ‘us’ as our second Rivalry Winner (2-0) when they forced the Eagles into overtime before falling to a field goal. Chicago, well, it was hard to believe what we saw in the fourth quarter as the Bears allowed the lowly Broncos to find an offense and come back from a 28-7 deficit. Chicago has now lost 14 straight games and Washington defeated the Bears on a Thursday night in Chicago 12-7 just two weeks before they won their last game. I expect a full 60-minute effort out of the Bears and for this game to play close. Take CHICAGO! |
10-04-23 | Marlins +142 v. Phillies | Top | 1-7 | Loss | -100 | 15 h 46 m | Show |
Miami at Philadelphia 8:05 ET Marlins over Phillies- I can not recall how many times I thought that Miami was done and their run was ready to come to an end. But, the resilient Marlins hung in and on into the post season and once again it looks like they are finished. Tonight, they send Braxton Garrett (9-7, 3.66 ERA) to the mound and he has had one outing against the Phillies last season where he struck out 11 and is 2-1 with a 4.50 ERA. Philadelphia will go with work horse Aaron Nola (12-9, 4.46) while going 0-1 with a 5.47 in his final five starts. He is also 5-10 with a 3.58 ERA against Miami in 23 appearances including a pair of losses this year in three starts surrendering 13 runs in 16 innings giving up five home runs. Take MIAMI! |
10-04-23 | Diamondbacks +116 v. Brewers | Top | 5-2 | Win | 116 | 14 h 47 m | Show |
Arizona at Milwaukee 7:05 ET Diamondbacks over Brewers- The Diamondbacks came through for ‘us’ yesterday as our Top-Rated Wild Card winner and made a hefty profit. After losing their final four games of the regular season Arizona is ready to advance with a win behind their ace Zac Gallen (17-9, 3.47 ERA) who is 3-3 with a 1.75 ERA in six appearances against Milwaukee. In two starts this season against the Brewers he was 2-0 in 14 innings allowing just six hits and only one run (on a homer). The desperate Brewers can not use scheduled starter Brandon Woodruff and will go with Freddy Peralta (12-10, 3.86) and he is 3-0 with an era of 0.55 in 16 innings with 24 strikeouts. No doubt he has been great against the Diamondbacks but baseball is a team game and funky stuff happens in the playoffs. Take ARIZONA! |
10-04-23 | Blue Jays v. Twins -128 | Top | 0-2 | Win | 100 | 11 h 18 m | Show |
Toronto at Minnesota 4:35 ET Twins over Blue Jays- The Twins felt like that were going to end their record 18-game post-season streak end they saw their nemesis the New York Yankees failed to make the playoffs. the Yankees had defeated Minnesota 16-of 17 playoff games dating back to the Tins last post season victory which came in 2004. Toronto manager John Schneider said the they will not dwell on their loss...so I expect them to lose again so he will have a strong memory of their post defeat. Sonny Gray (8-8, 2.79 ERA) gets the start for hr Twins and he is 4-4 with a 2.91 ERA in 15 career appearances against the Blue Jays. Toronto will send Jose Berrios (11-12, 3.65) to the mound and he is 3-1 with a 4.03 ERA pitching 5.2 scoreless innings in May. Not today. Take MINNESOTA! |
10-03-23 | Diamondbacks +172 v. Brewers | 6-3 | Win | 172 | 31 h 35 m | Show
Arizona at Milwaukee 7:10 ET Diamondbacks over Brewers- When a team can lose their last four games of the season and stills qualifies for the post-season they are destined to cause playoffs issues for everybody. Last year it was Philadelphia that was the lowest rated team to make the playoffs and they went to the World Series. This game may be more about mojo that talent and it can does does shift on a dime. The home field and pitchers are of not concern as the best often lose and weak prevail. The Diamondbacks seem the most unlikely to advance but they can still bite with venom. Take ARIZONA! |
10-02-23 | Seahawks v. Giants +1.5 | Top | 24-3 | Loss | -110 | 26 h 5 m | Show |
Seattle at New York Giants 8:15 ET Giants (+) over Seahawks- To start with the Seahawks have never lost at Giants Stadium (5-0) even winning a Super Bowl there while New York was watching it on TV. Expectations were high for the Giants this season a bit too high I believe and they have shown that to be true up to now. Seattle once again has been an over-achiever and I get you have to credit their coaching for that but at time that is their Achilles heel. The key factor here is that the Giants have had 10 days to regroup after their 30-12 beat-down from the Niners. NY lost at Seattle last season and if their coaching is where I expect them to be the Giants should move the ball and keep the Hawks below the 37-points that they have scored in their last two games. Take NEW YORK GIANTS |
10-01-23 | Chiefs v. Jets +9 | Top | 23-20 | Win | 100 | 29 h 49 m | Show |
Kansas City at New York Jets 8:20 ET Jets (+) over Chiefs- Poor Jets and poor NFL, their will be no Rodgers and Mahomes shootout as New York is stuck with Zach Wilson whom is the major part of the Jets failure on offense. In an era where a 67% completion rate is average Wilson’s is at 52.4% with only two TD’s and four interceptions this season. New York’s defense is supposed to be ‘elite’ and other than a second half effort against Buffalo they have not been there yet this year. The defense comes to play tonight to spare themselves the embarrassment for what most people expect to see happen. It won’t! Take the NEW YORK JETS! |
10-01-23 | Phillies v. Mets -105 | 9-1 | Loss | -105 | 5 h 45 m | Show
Philadelphia at New York Mets 3:10 ET Mets over Phillies- Philadelphia is just looking to set their rotation for Tuesday’s wild card game against either Miami or Arizona. New York swept a meaningless double-header on Saturday and will complete the 3-game sweep today with Jose Butto (1-3, 3.75 ERA)) getting the start. The Phillies will send Matt Strahm (9-5, 3.32) to the hill to be followed by Nick Nelson who will make his first appearance of the year. Take the METS! |
10-01-23 | Dolphins v. Bills -2.5 | 20-48 | Win | 100 | 21 h 27 m | Show
Miami at Buffalo 1:00 ET Bills (-) over Dolphins- This should be the game of the day in the NFL this Sunday as to offensive juggernaut that is the Miami Dolphins invade Buffalo to challenge the Division champion Bills. Buffalo got off the a rough start as Josh Allen was picked off four times by the Jets defense but Allen has responded like the pro he is with a pair of outstanding games against Las Vegas and Washington. The play here is against any time that scores 70 points in their previous game but the price is so short the odds makers are believing the Dolphins are for real. I think they are but they will fall sometime and it should be here. Take BUFFALO! |
10-01-23 | Vikings v. Panthers +4.5 | 21-13 | Loss | -110 | 21 h 26 m | Show
Minnesota at Carolina 1:00 ET Panthers (+) over Vikings- The best thing the NFL in thinking about this match-up of a pair of 0-3 clubs is that most likely one of them will emerge with a victory. Last season Minnesota was fortunate enough to win most their one-score games (close ones) and this season it looks like the worm has turned. This year they when the do win they are not supposed to cover the number as favorites. Carolina of course is starting rookie QB Bryce Young who returns from and ankle injury and first year quarterbacks are known to struggle. But, it is the Panthers defense that will dictate the tempo and the flow of this game. Take CAROLINA! |

10-01-23 | Rams v. Colts +1 | 29-23 | Loss | -110 | 21 h 25 m | Show
LA Rams at Indianapolis 1:00 ET Colts (+) over Rams- The Colts are galloping alone with Gardner Minshew at quarterback and have won their last two including an overtime win at Baltimore. So, now Indy with the return of Anthony Richardson a choice of two QB’s with different styles. Los Angeles has no such issue as Mathew Stafford is at the helm, but he’s running for his life with a line that surrendered six sacks against the Bengals Monday night. The Colts have a fresh attitude this season and the rest of the league will have to realize that. Take INDIANAPOLIS! |
10-01-23 | Commanders +9.5 v. Eagles | 31-34 | Win | 100 | 21 h 24 m | Show
Washington at Philadelphia 1:00 ET Commies (+) over Eagles- It appears that the Eagles are shaping into form while the Commanders already have to regroup. Washington was totally out-classed by the Buffalo Bills last week managing only a field goal in their 37-3 drubbing while Philly was workman like in their dominating win at Tampa Bay. Jalen Hurts is almost perfect as a starting QB winning 20 of his past 21 starts with his only blemish coming against the Commandos. Lighting strikes twice as the division home dog gets the money. Take WASHINGTON! |
10-01-23 | Bengals v. Titans +2.5 | Top | 3-27 | Win | 100 | 21 h 23 m | Show |
Cincinnati at Tennessee 1:00 ET Titans (+) over Bengals- So, thing are now supposed to be alright with the Bengals who posted their first win of the season over the Rams Monday night. Well, not so fst my friend! Cincinnati did have six sacks against LA but quarterback Joe Burrow still does not look the same. Maybe it is rust from not playing during the preseason in which he was hurt or maybe his injury is hampering his play because to me he still hasn’t passed the eye test. In other words he don’t look so good. The Titans are off a 27-3 loss at Cleveland (A-Play winner) and their is little that can said in a positive vein about their performance. But, like most professional teams when they have a game like that they play with more intensity and compassion the following week. Take TENNESSEE! |
09-30-23 | Alabama v. Mississippi State +14.5 | 40-17 | Loss | -100 | 24 h 26 m | Show
Alabama at Mississippi State 9:00 ET Bulldogs (+) over Crimson Tide- Alabama (3-1, 1-0) isn't among the top contenders for a national championship due to its 34-24 home loss to then-No. 11 Texas on Sept. 9. The No. 12 Crimson Tide will take another swing at finding their past standard when they visit Mississippi State in a Southeastern Conference battle on Saturday night at Starkville, Miss. Mississippi State (2-2, 0-2) have lost back-to-back games but have quarterback Will Rogers at the helm and he passed for a career-high 487 yards in last week's 37-30 road loss to South Carolina. It was his ninth career 400-yard outing. Rogers has completed 70 percent of his passes over four seasons for 11,668 yards and 88 touchdowns. The yardage is the third-highest total in SEC history. The Bulldogs have enough to stay with the Tide. Take MISSISSIPPI STATE! |
09-30-23 | Notre Dame v. Duke +6 | 21-14 | Loss | -112 | 23 h 9 m | Show
Notre Dame at Duke 7:30 ET Blue Devils over Fighting Irish- ESPN's College GameDay comes to town with No. 17 Duke hosting No. 11 Notre Dame. Duke (4-0) has never been part of the longtime pregame college football show as a host or opponent. The task at hand for the Blue Devils is beating Notre Dame (4-1), a team motivated to get back in the win column after suffering its first loss of the season. Notre Dame had only 10 men on the field for the final two plays from scrimmage, the second of which saw the Buckeyes score the go-ahead touchdown on a run up the gut. Notre Dame boasts the nation's 18th-best scoring offense, putting up 39.6 points per game and a defense, allowing just 12.8 points per game, which ranks 15th in FBS. Duke is 28th in offense and fourth in defense, allowing just 8.8 points per game. Take DUKE! |
09-30-23 | Reds -117 v. Cardinals | Top | 6-15 | Loss | -117 | 17 h 29 m | Show |
Cincinnati at St. Louis 7:15 ET Reds over Cardinals- It doesn’t look like St. Louis is playing the spoiler as they continue to fade no matter who they may be playing. Starting left-hander Drew Rom (1-4, 7.98 ERA) to the hill to face a team that scored 19 runs the night before. Now, this wasn’t a meaningless contest as the win moved Cincinnati into a tie with the Cubs for the final Wild Card spot. Rom has surrendered 13 runs in 6.2 innings in his last two starts and the Reds can not wait to get to the plate. Take CINCINNATI! |
09-30-23 | LSU v. Ole Miss +2.5 | Top | 49-55 | Win | 100 | 22 h 35 m | Show |
LSU at Mississippi 6:00 ET Rebels (+) over Tigers- LSU has bounced back from a season-opening loss to Florida State with three straight victories, including back-to-back conference wins in the last two weekends. The Tigers (3-1, 2-0) and the Rebels (3-1, 0-1) have both shown short-coming as the Ole Miss offense has had issues and LSU on defense. The Rebels were 7-0 and ranked No. 7 in the country last season when LSU beat them 45-20 in Baton Rouge, La. and look to atone for that performance. Take MISSISSIPPI! |
09-30-23 | Kansas v. Texas -16 | 14-40 | Win | 100 | 19 h 12 m | Show
Kansas at Texas 3:30 ET Longhorns (-) over Jayhawks- Saturday's match-up will be the first time these two programs have ever played each other while both are ranked. No. 3 Texas and No. 24 Kansas will look to continue torrid starts to the season when they square off in Austin, Texas. Both teams are 4-0 overall and 1-0 in conference play. The Jayhawks used a 22-yard fumble return from Cobee Bryant to race to an early lead and then added a 30-yard pick-six by Kenny Logan Jr. they won’t be so fortunate this week. The Longhorns are 17-4 against Kansas all-time and 9-1 when the teams play in Austin. Texas defeated Kansas in Lawrence last season, 55-14 and the Jayhawks' 2021 win in Austin is their only victory as a visitor. Take TEXAS! |
09-30-23 | Georgia v. Auburn +14.5 | 27-20 | Win | 100 | 19 h 42 m | Show
Georgia at Auburn 3:30 ET Tigers (+) over Bulldogs- No. 1 Georgia will set out to extend its winning streak to 22 games Saturday and the Bulldogs have won five straight regular-season games over the Tigers. Georgia (4-0, 1-0 SEC) went 6-for-6 inside the 20 in a convincing 49-21 win over UAB on Saturday. The Bulldogs had 582 yards of total offense despite three turnovers. Auburn (3-1, 1-0 SEC) enters its match-up with the Bulldogs with serious question marks on offense after failing to find the end zone against Texas A&M. Auburn is banged up in the secondary but somehow will pull it together against the Bulldogs. Take AUBURN! |
09-29-23 | Cincinnati -115 v. BYU | Top | 27-35 | Loss | -115 | 20 h 26 m | Show |
Cincinnati at BYU 10:15 ET Bearcats over Cougars- BYU will aim to bounce back from a 38-27 loss at Kansas in its Big 12 opener. After three non-conference victories BYU quarterback Kedon Slovis completed 30 of 51 passes for 357 yards with two scores and two interceptions. The Cougars (3-1, 0-1 Big 12) got nothing from their ground game (22 attempts, 9 yards) and allowed 6 yards per carry to the Jayhawks. Cincinnati (2-2, 0-1) got Oklahoma at home for its first Big 12 game and kept the Sooners in check but couldn't do enough on offense in a 20-6 loss last week. The Bearcats held the Sooners 35 points under their average but went just 3-for-15 on third-down conversions and couldn't find the end zone. Bearcats tougher than most believe. Take CINCINNATI! |
09-29-23 | Utah v. Oregon State -4 | 7-21 | Win | 100 | 19 h 10 m | Show
Utah at Oregon State 9:00 ET Beavers (-) over Utes- Utah's defense has been terrific this season, they are tied for ninth nationally in total defense (263.8 yards per game), ranks sixth in scoring defense (9.5 points per game) and is third in rushing defense (51 yards per game. But if the Utes (4-0, 1-0 Pac-12) want remain unbeaten they must increase its offensive production against No. 19 Oregon State (3-1, 0-1) in a Friday night Pac-12 clash at Corvallis, Ore. The Beavers have won six straight home games and 13 of their past 14 in Corvallis. Take OREGON STATE! |

Louisville at N.C. State 7:00 ET Wolfpack (+) over Cardinals- Louisville (4-0, 2-0 ACC) is off to its best start in conference play in seven years. Their offense has been humming along at a pretty good clip so far this season, while North Carolina State is still attempting to hit its stride. NC State (3-1, 1-0) might need to get its offense cranked up if it intends to keep up with the Cardinals. The arrival of quarterback Brennan Armstrong to the Wolfpack was supposed to be accompanied by a dynamic offense that failed against hos former Virginia mates last week. The Wolfpack will be playing on a Friday night for the second week in a row after and this will be NC State's first night home game of the season. This will be a Wolfpack night! Take NC STATE! |

Texas at Seattle 9:40 ET Mariners over Rangers- Seattle trails the division leading Texas Rangers by four games with four left to play but are only one game behind Houston for the AL Wild Card spot. At home with their backs against the wall the Mariners are going with their best in Logan Gilbert ( 13-7, 3.75 ERA) whose last outting was a 2-0 loss to The Rangers in Arlington. He is avering a strike out and inning and only eight hits per nine innings pitched. Jordan Montgomery (4-2, 2.92 ERA with Texas) started and won that game at home and now the forces have shifted. Take SEATTLE! |

Detroit at Green Bay 8:15 ET Packers (+)mover Lions- Both of these clubs are off victories that came in a totally different fashion. Detroit dominated Detroit dominated Atlanta in a 20-3 win while Green Bay had to come back from a 17-0 fourth quarter deficit (something they had never achieved at home in their100 year history) beating New Orleans 18-17. The Packer rally was led by Jordan Love who has a QB rating even below Justin Fields. Some how the Pack show they may not be totally back but good enough to win here. Take GREEN BAY! |

09-25-23 | Padres v. Giants +106 | Top | 1-2 | Win | 106 | 10 h 47 m | Show |
San Diego at San Francisco 9:45 ET Giants over Padres- It seems a bit unbelievable to see the Giants and Pares tied with the exact same record. At the season’s start maybe we could have considered it but San Diego is making a too late serge that has seen them win nine of their last 10 games while San Francisco has dropped eight of their last 10, ergo 77-79. Both teams trail the Cubs for the final NL playoff spot bt five games with six games remaining. Each team will have its ace going in the series opener, with Padres left-hander Blake Snell (14-9, 2.33 ERA) opposing Giants righty Logan Webb (10-13, 3.35). Snell has more at stake this week than just a longshot's bid for the playoffs. He has pitched himself into the thick of the NL Cy Young Award race by going unbeaten in his last five starts, running off four straight wins with a 0.56 ERA. Webb has yet to face the Padres this season, leaving his career mark against them at 2-2 with a 2.77 ERA in nine head-to-heads. Giants bounce back here. Take SAN FRANCISCO! |

Mayfield was in his third season with the Browns when he directed a 22-17 victory over Philadelphia in Cleveland on Nov. 22, 2020. Take TAMPA BAY! |

Carolina at Seattle 4:05 ET Panthers (+) over Seahawks- Carolina rookie quarterback Bryce Young, the No. 1 overall pick in the NFL draft in April, is hurting. He didn't participate in practice Wednesday or Thursday because of an ankle injury, leading the Panthers to announce that Young is not expected to play against the Seahawks (1-1). Veteran Andy Dalton will start for the Panthers (0-2) in Young's absence. Dalton, in his 13th NFL season, is 83-77-2 as a starter during his career. He spent nine seasons in Cincinnati before one-year stops in Dallas, Chicago and New Orleans. The Seahawks evened their record with a 37-31 overtime victory Sunday at Detroit, as Tyler Lockett scored the winner on a 6-yard pass from Geno Smith. The Seahawks also have injury concerns and may be without four starters. Take CAROLINA! |

Tennessee at Cleveland 1:00 ET Browns (-) over Titans- The Browns have had their season turned upside down. Cleveland lost star running back Nick Chubb to a season ending knee injury and now the Browns will begin moving forward Sunday when they face the visiting Tennessee Titans. The Titans beat the Chargers 27-24 in overtime last Sunday, holding Los Angeles to just 61 yards on the ground while the Titans Derrick Henry was limited during Wednesday's practice with a toe injury. Take CLEVELAND! |
09-24-23 | Patriots v. Jets +3 | Top | 15-10 | Loss | -110 | 14 h 58 m | Show |
New England at New York Jets 1:00 ET Jets (+) over Patriots- The last time the New York Jets defeated the New England Patriots, Barack Obama was president as the Patriots have beaten the Jets 14 straight times. Mac Jones leads the league in pass attempts, having completed 66 of 96 throws for 547 yards, four touchdowns and two interceptions through two games but he Patriots have gained just 164 yards on the ground, sixth fewest in the league. The Jets' young core has not been part of many defeats to New England, but players recognize the losing streak and want to start their own history. This is the start of a Jets streak over the Pats. Take NEW YORK JETS! |
09-24-23 | Broncos +6 v. Dolphins | Top | 20-70 | Loss | -109 | 14 h 57 m | Show |
Denver at Miami 1:00 ET Broncos (+) over Dolphins- Mike McDaniel took over as Dolphins coach last season, leading the team to a 9-8 record and its first playoff appearance since 2016. Miami (2-0) picked up right where it left off under McDaniel, as the Dolphins are averaging 30 points and a league-best 462.5 yards per game following last Sunday's 24-17 victory over the New England Patriots. Denver hasn't been able to get in the win column just yet, Russell Wilson is finally starting to look like the quarterback the Broncos thought they were trading for. The Broncos led 21-3 at one point but surrendered 10 points in the final 1:47 of the first half before crumbling following the break. Denver's two losses have come by a combined three points, and executing plays when it matters most is quickly becoming an issue. This time they get it done. Take DENVER! |
