San Francisco at Miami 1:10 ET Marlins over Giants- The surprising Marlins have won six of their last seven games and will start their ace Pablo Lopez (0-1, 4.60 ERA) who has faced the Giants just once with no decision has a 3.14 ERA when pitching at home. San Francisco will start Alex Wood who is making his first appearance of the season and is 6-4 with a 2.77 ERA in 15 appearances against Miami. St. Louis at Philadelphia 4:10 Cardinals over Phillies- Philadelphia who has won 6-of-7 while playing at home will send Matt Moore (0-0, 7.56 ERA) who spent last season in Japan to the mound has surrendered 13 hits in 8.1 innings. The Cardinals will start Kwang Hyun Kim in his season debut and he was terrible in the spring posting a 16.2- ERA in five inning. In his rookie season last year Kim was 3-0 with a 1.62 ERA and I expect him to return to ford here opening as the favorite on the rod. Take ST. LOUIS! |
04-17-21 | Braves -113 v. Cubs | 4-13 | Loss | -113 | 5 h 26 m | Show
Atlanta at Chicago 2:20 ET Braves over Cubs- Both these clubs are off to slow starts but only one of them is expected to compete for the crown. Atlanta is the odds on favorite in the NL in the East while the Cubs are to be also rans. Chicago has lost seven of nine and has scored two runs or fewer six times in those games and currently is the worst hitting team in baseball. The Cubs will start Trevor Williams (1-1, 6.75 ERA) who has no win/loss record against the Braves who will start Huascar Ynoa (0-0, 0.75) who has 15 K's and just two walks in 12 innings. Take ATLANTA! |
04-17-21 | Diamondbacks +104 v. Nationals | 2-6 | Loss | -100 | 4 h 11 m | Show
Arizona at Washington 1:05 ET Diamondbacks over Nationals- What a difference a year can make. Last season Arizona starter Luke Weaver (1-0, 3.13 ERA) was 1-9 with a 6.58 ERA in 12 games but this year he has already equalled his win total and took a no-hitter into the seventh inning of his lats start allowing just one hit against the Reds. Erick Fedde (0-1, 8.53) makes his third start of the season and is 0-1 with a 7.50 ERA in his lone start against Arizona. The fact the the Nationals opened a home dog here tell you something. Take ARIZONA! |
04-16-21 | Giants -126 v. Marlins | 1-4 | Loss | -126 | 9 h 59 m | Show
San Francisco at Miami 7:10 ET Giants over Marlins- The Giants are No. 2! they are second to last in runs scored (3.42 RPG) and 2nd overall in MLB with a 2.78 ERA. They will start Anthony DeSclafani (1-0, 0.82 ERA) who is 2-2 with an ERA of 3.04 against Miami in four career starts. The Marlins were three outs away from a 4-game sweep of the Braves but blew a 6-5 lead in the ninth inning and will now send Daniel Castano a 26-year-old rookie who will be making his first appearance of the season to the hill. The Giants who are 6-1 in their last seven games overall are 4-0 in their last four games when favored while the Marlins are 3-8 against right-handed starters and they are 7-20 in their last 27 as home underdogs. Take the GIANTS! |
04-16-21 | Indians +108 v. Reds | Top | 3-10 | Loss | -100 | 9 h 56 m | Show |
Cleveland at Cincinnati 7:10 ET Indians over Reds- Cincinnati returns home after a 2-4 road trip where they have won five straight after an Opening Day loss to St. Louis. The Reds batted .320 and averaged 9.5 runs at home but hit .206 averaging 3 RPG on the road. Now, they host the Indians who have dominated the Reds winning 21 of the last 28 meetings including 7-1 in their last eight meetings in Cincinnati. Cleveland will start lefty Logan Allen (1-1, 2.70 ERA) while the Reds send Jeff Hoffman (1-1, 3.96) to the hill. Take CLEVELAND! |
04-16-21 | Cardinals +127 v. Phillies | 2-9 | Loss | -100 | 9 h 54 m | Show
St. Louis at Philadelphia 7:05 Cardinals over Phillies- both of these clubs have been struggling of late each losing 5-of-6 with the Phillies having lost their last three and the cardinals are off a 6-0 whitewash inflicted by the Nationals. Carlos Martinez (0-2, 6.30 ERA) gets the nod for St. Louis and he has been abysmal this season getting racked by the Reds and Brewers. I fully expect hime to bounce back he as he is 3-1 with a 2.70 ERA in eight starts against Philadelphia. The Phillies are just 3-7 in their last 10 games as favorites and the Red Birds are 4-1 in their last five games as underdogs. Take ST. LOUIS! |
04-14-21 | Phillies v. Mets +106 | Top | 1-5 | Win | 106 | 11 h 56 m | Show |
Philadelphia at New York Mets 7:10 ET Mets over Phillies- The Mets have come back to life with a twin bill sweep of the Phillies yesterday and returning to New York will be starter Zack Wheelers (1-1, 2.31 ERA) who 1-0 with a 3.54 ERA against his former team last season. New York will start David Peterson (0-1, 13.50) who was shelled by the Phillies in his first start giving up six runs and seven hits over four innings in an 8-2 defeat. With the 'Amazings' 3-1 at home and the Phillies 1-4 on the road this time around the Mets get it done. Take the NEW YORK METS! |
04-13-21 | Indians v. White Sox -104 | 2-0 | Loss | -104 | 13 h 53 m | Show
Cleveland at Chicago White Sox 8:10 ET White Sox over Indians- You've got to love the pitching matchup with Shane Bieber (0-1, 3.65) taking to mound for Cleveland and Chicago countering with Lucas Giolito (1-0, 4.22). The White Sox are looking to get off the snide having lost six straight to the Tribe. Cleveland is just 2-7 in their last nine games on the road against right-handed pitchers, while the White Sox are 17-5 in their last 22 home games. Take CHICAGO WS! |
04-13-21 | Nationals v. Cardinals -109 | Top | 3-14 | Win | 100 | 12 h 27 m | Show |
Washington at St. Louis 7:45 ET Cardinals over Nationals- It hasn't been such a great start for Cardinals starting pitcher Jack Flaherty (1-0, 5.23 ERA) but it's been even worse for the Nationals. At least Flaherty got some run support and was able to post a win while shutting down the Marlins while Washington starter Stephen Strasburg (0-0, 0.00) like deGrom get little support. St. Louis has dominated this series at home going 40-17 over the Nats in the last 57 meetings ans Washington is a mere 3-12 in their last 15 games against right-handed starters. Take ST. LOUIS! |
04-13-21 | Yankees +108 v. Blue Jays | 3-7 | Loss | -100 | 12 h 50 m | Show
New York vs Toronto 7:05 ET Yankees over Blue Jays- The Yankees are supposed to run away from everybody else in the East with the lone exception of the Blue Jays who many feel can give New York some competition. But, the Bronx Bombers have a few weaknesses, like pitching, catching and defense. Jameson Taillon (0-0, 3.86 ERA) with be making his second start in two years and he went 4.2 innings in his first start against the Orioles. After dropping three straight the yankees have won their last two. Take NEW YORK! |
04-12-21 | Reds v. Giants -111 | 3-0 | Loss | -111 | 12 h 44 m | Show
Cincinnati at San Francisco 9:45 ET Giants over Reds- A pair of 6-3 clubs go at it in San Francisco where Wade Miley (1-0, 0.00 ERA) gets the start for Cincinnati against former Astros teammate Aaron Sanchez (0-0, 1.80). Miley is 4-4 lifetime against the Giants with a 3.88 ERA in 12 career appearances. The Reds lead the league in runs averaging 7.43 per game with a .289 average and hitting 1.8 homers per game. But, the Giants are top ranked in fewest home runs allowed. Cincy who is 5-1 at home is just 1-4 in their last five road games and 1-5 versus a right-handed starter. Take SAN FRANCISCO! |
04-12-21 | Angels v. Royals -104 | 10-3 | Loss | -104 | 10 h 11 m | Show
L.A. Angels at Kansas City 8:10 ET Royals over Angels- As the Royals start a 10-game home stand they enter this fray with two oddities. To start, they have played the least number of games (7) then any other MLB club and this is going to be their first night game of the year. Los Angeles will start Alex Cobb (0-0, 4.50 ERA) who is 1-3 with a 4.54 ERA in six starts against Kansas City. KC is 9-1 in their last 10 home games against a right-handed starter and they are 10-3 in their last 13 home games overall. Brady Singer (0-1, 13.50) gets the start for the Royals and picks up his first win here. Take KANSAS CITY! |
04-11-21 | Brewers +118 v. Cardinals | 9-3 | Win | 118 | 5 h 49 m | Show
Milwaukee at St. Louis 2:15 ET Brewers over Cardinals- The Brewers (Megabucks winner) busted out of their early season slump scoring nine runs and getting 13 hits (both season highs) Saturday handing the Cardinals their first loss after four straight wins. Milwaukee who's staff has not allowed a run in the first five innings in each of their last four starts sends Brett Anderson (0-1, 7.20 ERA) to the hill and he surrendered four runs in his five innings in his first start. St. Louis will start ponce de Leon (1-0, 1.80) who is 1-0 with a 2.00 ERA in four games against the Brewers. But, the Red Birds are just 2-5 in their last seven games against left-handed starters. Take MILWAUKEE! |
04-11-21 | Royals +128 v. White Sox | Top | 4-3 | Win | 128 | 5 h 46 m | Show |
Kansas City at Chicago White Sox 2:10 ET Royals over White Sox- Chicago at 4-4 are the second leading scoring team in MLB averaging 6.32 RPG and the Royals aren't that far behind averaging 5.71 RPG. Kansas City will start Mike Minor (1-0, 6.00 ERA) who is 0-2 lifetime against the White Sox while the home team will start Dylan Cease (0-0, 5.71) who is 2-1 lifetime against KC. Chicago has dominated the series winning 10 of the last 11 meetings and are 10-4 in Chicago. But, the Royals are 4-1 in their last five games and the White Sox are 2-14 in their last 16 games against right-handed starters. Take KANSAS CITY! |
04-11-21 | Red Sox v. Orioles +128 | 14-9 | Loss | -100 | 4 h 47 m | Show
Boston at Baltimore 1:05 ET Orioles over Red Sox- Boston opened the season with three straight home losses to the Orioles and have turned things around with five straight wins and look to return the favor by sweeping Baltimore at their place. The Red Sox will start Nick Pivetta (1-0, 0.00 ERA) who shut down the Rays in five innings work is 3-0 for Boston since coming over from Philadelphia. The O's will start Jorge Lopez (0-1, 7.71) and they look to end their mini two-game slide and win their first home game of the season. Take BALTIMORE! |
04-10-21 | Angels +113 v. Blue Jays | 1-15 | Loss | -100 | 13 h 30 m | Show
L.A. Angels vs. Toronto 7:05 ET Angels over Blue Jays- It is hard to believe that the Angels at 6-2 are off to the fastest eight-game start in franchise history (they did it two other times in 60 years). Toronto has lost four in-a-row and according to their manager they are starting to 'press' at the plate. One week into the season they are 'pressing at the plate' and that seems a bit early in the season. Los Angeles will start Jose Quintana (0-0, 10.80 ERA) who had a terrible first start but is 7-2 with a 1.88 ERA lifetime against the Blue Jays. Steven Matz (1-0, 1.42) opened with a win and may have return to his previous form but he will have to do it again for me to become a believer. Take the ANGELS! |
04-10-21 | Red Sox -125 v. Orioles | 6-4 | Win | 100 | 10 h 55 m | Show
Boston at Baltimore 7:05 ET Red Sox over Orioles- It's a good thing that these two dregs get to play each otherwise who know how many wins they would get. Actually, I would wager that the O's end up with a better overall record. But, today I expect the Red Sox who were swept (3-0) in Fenway Park to open the season are looking to return the favor in Baltimore. Boston will send Garrett Richards (0-1, 27.00 ERA) to the hill and his first start in front of the 'Green Monster' as he was tagged for seven hits and six earned runs in two innings against these same Orioles. Take BOSTON! |
04-10-21 | Brewers +102 v. Cardinals | Top | 9-5 | Win | 102 | 5 h 11 m | Show |
Milwaukee at St. Louis 2:15 ET Brewers over Cardinals- Doesn't this 'price' seem a bit cheap to you...it does to me. St. Louis has won four straight after opening 1-2 against Cincinnati and then swept Miami in three games before defeating the Brewers 3-1 on Thursday. It is surprising to me that the Red Birds are such a small favorite especially when one tracks Milwaukee's play to date as they have scored 2.3 RPG in their last six games overall and will be facing Carlos Martinez who is 6-5 with a 2.29 ERA in 29 career games against the Brewers. Adrian Houser (0-1, 3.60 ERA) starts for the Brew Crew and gets the win herfe. Take MILWAUKEE! |
04-09-21 | Phillies +115 v. Braves | Top | 1-8 | Loss | -100 | 11 h 46 m | Show |
Philadelphia at Atlanta 7:20 ET Phillies over Braves- Philadelphia who shored up their lineup in the off season has done it with pitching so far and their stall-worth starter has been Zack Wheeler (1-0, 0.00 ERA) who shut down Atlanta in his first start. The Phillies staff is hurling to a 2.62 ERA and allowing opponents a .191 average. The Braves meanwhile have struggled on offense (having faced the Phillies) scoring just 3.21 runs per game and are hitting .170 as a team. This is the Bravo's home Opener but they are 1-6 against the Phillies in their last seven meetings. Take PHILADELPHIA! |
04-08-21 | Angels +107 v. Blue Jays | Top | 7-5 | Win | 107 | 11 h 58 m | Show |
L.A. Angels vs Toronto 7:15 ET Angels over Blue Jays- Ya know, 'it's kind'da funny this feeling inside', forget that. For years now I've seen the betting flow continue on the Angels no matter if they were in Anaheim, Los Angeles or California and they never won when it counted. Now, I see 'action' against them and for the first time I believe that they have a shot of winning and me it starts here. Griffin Canning has a name worthy of my action averages 1.3 K's per inning, Ross Stripling who is 1-2 with a 4.67 ERA lifetimes against LA....Take ANGELS |
04-08-21 | Brewers -130 v. Cardinals | Top | 1-3 | Loss | -130 | 8 h 7 m | Show |
Milwaukee at St. Louis 4:15 ET Brewers over Cardinals- okay so the Cardinals just swept the Marlins who after a good show last season may have the weakest lineup in baseball. Milwaukee was a Megabucks winner for 'us' yesterday and will be sending Corbin Burnes who is favored over veteran Adam Wainwright. Wainwright who just doesn't seem the same is 0-1, with a 20.25 ERA allowed six runs in less than three innings against the Reds in his only start this season. He may have lost it...Take BREWERS! |
04-07-21 | Cardinals v. Marlins +102 | 7-0 | Loss | -100 | 6 h 21 m | Show
St. Louis at Miami 4:10 ET Marlins over Cardinals- Miami who made the extended playoffs last season is not thought of as a contender. Saturday they took down Tampa Bay 12-7 but have scored just three runs in their last two losses both to the Cardinals. St. Louis will start Jack Flaherty (0-0, 12.46 ERA) who is 0-2 with a 5.25 ERA in two start against the Marlins. Miami will start Pablo Lopez who pitched five scoreless innings against the Rays on Friday and I expect another stellar outing. Take the MARLINS! |
04-07-21 | Brewers +107 v. Cubs | Top | 4-2 | Win | 107 | 5 h 35 m | Show |
Milwaukee at Chicago Cubs 2:20 ET Brewers over Cubs- The Brewers who had scored just five runs in three straight losses bounced back with a 4-0 Power Play win over the Cubs yesterday and today they start their Opening Day hurler in hard throwing Brandon Woodruff. Chicago has lost 4-of-5 against Milwaukee and will send their Opening Day starter Kyle Hendricks who is 9-6 and a 2.84 ERA lifetime against the Cubs. Still, the Brewers have the current 'mojo.' Take MILWAUKEE! |
04-07-21 | Rays v. Red Sox -110 | 2-9 | Win | 100 | 3 h 23 m | Show
Tampa Bay at Boston 1:10 ET Red Sox over Rays- Tampa Bay has relied on their bullpen ever since Dave Cash took over and his idea of using as many as nine pitcher has shown some kinks. When you use that many pitchers there is a good chance that one of them will have a poor outing and that's what is going on with Tampa Bay right now. Boston started the season by getting swept by Baltimore and are now looking to sweet he Rays. Left-hander Ryan Yarbrough (0-0,0.00 ERA) get the nod for the Rays while Nathan Eovaldi (0-1, 1.60) starts for Boston. Take the RED SOX! |
04-06-21 | Brewers +103 v. Cubs | 4-0 | Win | 103 | 10 h 13 m | Show
Milwaukee at Chicago Cubs 7:40 ET Brewers over Cubs- Both of these teams are on three game streaks with the Cubs having won three straight wins and Milwaukee has lost their last three. Chicago will start Adbert Alzolay and he is off a terrible spring going 0-3 with a 10.57 ERA in four games. The Brewers who have scored just five runs in their three losses will start Freddy Peralta who is 2-1 lifetime against the Cubs who are 1-5 in their last six games against right-handed pitchers. Take MILWAUKEE! |
04-06-21 | Rays v. Red Sox +136 | 5-6 | Win | 136 | 10 h 44 m | Show
Tampa Bay at Boston 7:10 ET Red Sox over Rays- After being humiliated by getting swept three games by Baltimore the Red Sox responded with 16 hits in an 11-2 win over Tampa Bay on Monday. Tyler Glasnow takes the mound for the Rays and he is off a stellar six inning one hit performance against the Marlins. He is 2-1 with a 4.68 ERA in six career starts but was blasted by the Red Sox last season giving up nine runs on 14 hits in 11 innings. Boston will start left-hander Martin Perez and he was 2-1 with a 2.30 ERA in three games against the Rays last season. Take BOSTON! |
04-06-21 | Astros v. Angels +101 | 4-2 | Loss | -100 | 7 h 42 m | Show
Houston at LA Angels 4:07 ET Angels over Astros- LA has a new attitude under the leadership of Joe Maddon and are tied with Houston on top of the AL West at 4-1 and have won three straight. Houston started the season 4-0 taking down Oakland in their opening series but fell to the Angels 7-6 last night. Today the Astros will start veteran Zack Greinke who is 6-5 with a 3.98 ERA in 16 career games against LA. Dylan Bundy who had a no-decision in his first start surrendering three runs in six innings and is 0-3 with a 4.46 ERA. The Angels are 6-0 in the last six meetings including 4-0 in Anaheim. Take the ANGELS! |
04-05-21 | White Sox v. Mariners +114 | 6-0 | Loss | -100 | 13 h 12 m | Show
Chicago White Sox at Seattle 10:10 ET Mariners over White Sox- Chicago who is expected to contend with the Twins for the AL Central title are off to a slow start losing 3-of-4 to the Angels will start their 2019 Opening Day pitcher Carlos Rodon. But, the lefty has made only 11 starts the past two seasons because of Tommy John surgery in May of 2019. Seattle has a lefty of their own takin the hill as Justus Sheffield (4-3, 3.58 ERA) takes the hill and he is 0-1 lifetime. The White Sox are just 2-10 in their last 12 road games and are 1-4 in their last five games in Seattle. Take the MARINERS! |
04-05-21 | Astros v. Angels -115 | 6-7 | Win | 100 | 13 h 40 m | Show
Houston at LA Angels 9:35 ET Angels over Astros- Houston who many believe is headed for a fall this season is 4-0 and lead the majors in scoring and they take their undefeated record into LA where the Angels are 3-1. The Halo's who defeated the White Sox last night despite the fact that they put on a horrific defensive show in their 7-4 win. The Astros will start Luis Garcia who is making just his second career start while the Angels will start Jose Quintana who missed most of last season after cutting his thumb doing dishes (doing dishes?). Quintana has pitched well against Houston and is 3-1 with a 2.53 ERA in seven starts. LA is 6-1 in their last seven games against right-handed starters. Take the ANGELS! |
04-05-21 | Rays v. Red Sox +105 | Top | 2-11 | Win | 105 | 10 h 13 m | Show |
Tampa Bay at Boston 7:10 ET Red Sox over Rays- This is one of the most difficult things that I have to do and that is posting the Red Sox to win. It's not just that they stink and have started 3-0 it's that New York/Boston thing where no matter how bad they are you want them to be worse. But tonight finally they will start a major league pitcher in Nick Pivetta who was 2-0- for the Sox last season in two appearances. Tampa Bay will start Michael Wacha (1-4, 6.62 ERA) who hasn't had a winning season since 2018 and is just not what he used to be (who is). Considering Tampa Bay is 13-3 in their last 16 games at Fenway Park I think this could be a sucker line. Take BOSTON! |
04-04-21 | Cardinals v. Reds +102 | 1-12 | Win | 102 | 4 h 8 m | Show
St. Louis at Cincinnati 1:10 ET Reds over Cardinals- A bench clearing brawl was one of the highlights or lowlight in Saturday's 9-6 Reds victory. St. Louis who added offense in the off season has had two mediocre (at best) outings by their starters as Flaherty and Wainwright have allowed 12 runs in just seven innings work. Cincinnati will start newly acquired Jeff Hoffman (2-1, 9.28 ERA) who is getting the start in place of Sonny Gray who has back spasms had 16 relief appearance for the Rockies last season. The Reds are 9-1 in their last 10 games against right-handed starters and 9-3 in their last 12 home games. Take CINCINNATI! |
04-04-21 | Indians -122 v. Tigers | 9-3 | Win | 100 | 4 h 7 m | Show
Cleveland at Detroit 1:10 ET Indians over Tigers- The Indians have lost three key players in the off season and have lost their first two games of the season as well. Cleveland has managed just two runs in both losses and will be starting Aaron Civale (4-6, 4.74 ERA) who has revamped his motion this season and is brimming with confidence. The Tigers will send Tarik Shubal (1-4, 5.63) to the hill and he had five K's while facing seven Indian batter last season while Civale is 3-0 with a 2.36 ERA in four career starts against Detroit. Take CLEVELAND! |
04-04-21 | Braves v. Phillies +110 | Top | 1-2 | Win | 110 | 4 h 4 m | Show |
Atlanta at Philadelphia 1:05 ET Phillies over Braves- Atlanta who is the odds on favorite in the NL East has dropped their first two games of the season to the Phillies and have lost five of the last six meetings. The Braves will start phenom Ian Anderson (3-2, 2.92 ERA) who struck out 41 batters in just 32.1 innings last season and has yet to pitch against Philadelphia. The Phillies will start Zach Eflin who is 10 starts in 2020 was 4-2 with a 3.97 ERA and was 2-0 with a 2.92 ERA against Atlanta. Take PHILADELPHIA! |
04-03-21 | Twins v. Brewers -117 | 2-0 | Loss | -117 | 10 h 57 m | Show
Minnesota at Milwaukee 7:10 ET Brewers over Twins- The Brewers scored 3-runs in the bottom of the ninth to tie and then won the opener in the 10th inning to steal a win over the Twins on Opening Day. Minnesota will try and get right with two-time All-Star Jose Barrios who is 1-1 with a 2.08 ERA against the Brewers who will start Corbin Burns who went 4-1 with a 2.11 ERA in 2020. Burns is 1-0 lifetime against Minnesota who are 4-9 in their last 13 road games against right-handed starters. Brewers are 5-1 in last six home games...take MILWAUKEE! |
04-03-21 | Cardinals v. Reds -115 | 6-9 | Win | 100 | 7 h 58 m | Show
St. Louis at Cincinnati 4:10 ET Reds over Cardinals- At first glance this one looks a bit odd to me as St. Louis is an underdog with Adam Wainwright on the mound after they pounded the Reds in their opener. The Cardinals who led the NL in home runs in 2020 added firepower with Nolan Arenado who along with Paul Goldschmidt present a formidable lineup. Wainwright is just 10-13 versus the Reds with a lifetime ERA of 5.45. while Cincinnati will start Tyler Mahle who has struggled against the Redbirds but had an impressive spring with a 2.42 ERA in six games. Take CINCINNATI! |
04-03-21 | Braves v. Phillies +104 | Top | 0-4 | Win | 104 | 7 h 54 m | Show |
Atlanta at Philadelphia 4:05 ET Phillies over Braves- We opened the season with the Phillies a Megabucks winner and 'we' are coming back with them again. Atlanta who is the favorite in the NL East will start newcomer Charlie Morton who has had a 'perfect' spring not allowing a run in over 10 inning work but is just 2-3 lifetime against Philadelphia with a 6.17 ERA. Zack Wheeler gets the nod for the Phillies and was solid in 2020 going 4-2 with an ERA of 2.92 in 11 starts. Wheeler is 6-5 lifetime against the Braves and had a 2.19 ERA striking out 11 in 12 innings last season. Take PHILADELPHIA! |
04-02-21 | White Sox v. Angels -114 | Top | 12-8 | Loss | -114 | 13 h 34 m | Show |
Chicago White Sox at LA Angels 9:35 ET Angels over White Sox- Both of these clubs the White Sox and Angels are expected to contend for their respective division titles. Chicago in the Central will have to battle Minnesota for the top spot while LA once again will contend with Houston in the West. The Angles started on the right foot with a 4-3 win over the Pale Hose last night and will start lefty Andrew Heaney who is 3-0 with a 2.84 ERA in five career starts against the White Sox while Dallas Keuchel who starts for Chicago is 12-2 with a 3.36 ERA lifetime against the Angels. CWS are 1-9 in their last nine road games and the Angels are 5-1 in their last six home games. Take LA ANGELS! |

04-02-21 | Rays v. Marlins -103 | 6-4 | Loss | -103 | 10 h 7 m | Show
Tampa Bay at Miami 7:10 ET Marlins over Rays- The opener between these two a 1-0 win by the Rays yesterday had to be one of the more boring games of the day if not the year because of the lack of scoring threats. Miami managed just three hits all singles while Tampa Bay never put together any kind offense either setting for an 8thn inning homer to win. The Marlins will start Pablo Lopez (6-4, 3.61 ERA) who was the only Miami pitcher to start and finish last season in the rotation. Tampa will start Ryan Yarbrough (1-4, 3.56) and the lefty is 0-1 lifetime against the the 'Fish' and the Rays are just 3-7 in their last 10 games on natural grass. With Miami 7-3 in their last 10 home games they are the side. Take the MARLINS! |
04-01-21 | White Sox v. Angels +105 | 3-4 | Win | 105 | 13 h 50 m | Show
Chicago White Sox at LA Angels 10:05 ET Angels over White Sox- It'a a new season and another year and most experts expect Mike Trout to win the AL MVP but for the Angles to fail short of the playoffs once again. Chicago has the reigning MVP in Jose Abreu who like Trout can't do it alone. Dyland Bundy (6-3, 3.29 ERA ) is 4-0 lifetime against the White Sox with a 3.86 career ERA all of which happened when he was with the Orioles. Chicago will start ace Lucas Giolito had a great spring and is 2-0 with a 3.32 ERA in three career starts against the Halo's. Still...it's the ANGELS! |
04-01-21 | Cardinals v. Reds -113 | 11-6 | Loss | -113 | 7 h 56 m | Show
St. Louis at Cincinnati 4:10 ET Reds over Cardinals- Both of these clubs made the expanded playoffs last season and have made some changes in the off-season. St. Louis who ranked last in home runs last season added Nolan Arenado from Colorado and the lifetime .318 hitter while the Reds lost their Cy Young Award winning pitcher in Trevor Bauer. The Reds will start Luis Castillo who ism 4-4 with an ERA of 3.84 in 11 careers starts against the Cards while the 'Birds' starter is Jack Flaherty who is 2-2 lifetime against the Reds. Take CINCINNATI! |
04-01-21 | Braves v. Phillies -105 | Top | 2-3 | Win | 100 | 6 h 52 m | Show |
Atlanta at Philadelphia 3:05 ET Phillies over Braves- To be named the opening day starting pitcher in MLB is the biggest honor for any staff member and this season under limited conditions games will have varies number of fans in attendance. Aaron Nola is making his 4th consecutive opening day start for Philadelphia while Max Fried is getting his first opening day start after going 7-0 with a 2.25 ERA in the shortened 2020 season. Fried is 3-2 with a 4,15 ERA lifetime against the Phillies while Nola is 11-6 with a 3.06 ERA in 20 starts against the Braves and he has more wins them than any other MLB club. Last year the Phils were 5-1 in their last six games against left-handed starters and the were 9-2 as home favorites. Take PHILADELPHIA! |
10-27-20 | Rays v. Dodgers -129 | Top | 1-3 | Win | 100 | 9 h 1 m | Show |
Tampa Bay and Los Angeles Dodgers 8:08 ET Dodgers over Rays- The level of play in this shortened season in the World Series makes me question if there should be a World Series Champion winner this season. After all there have been teams that were in the cellar of a division after 60 games and ended up in the playoffs. This season did not have the wear and tear that a full season would give us and the break-down of pitchers over a full season. Tampa Bay won Game 5 when THREE different Dodgers mishandled the ball on the final play allowing a 'trapped' runner to score from first base. The quality of baseball is at an all-time low and it is fitting that a team from the 'Land of Shallowness' and glitz wins a tainted title. Take LOS ANGELES! |
10-25-20 | Dodgers v. Rays +152 | 4-2 | Loss | -100 | 8 h 59 m | Show
L.A. Dodgers vs Tampa Bay 8:08 ET Rays over Dodgers- This could be the defining game for the Dodgers Clayton Kershaw (6-2, 2.16 ERA) who is finally having a fine postseason 3-1, 2.88 ERA throwing 25 innings allowing just 17 hits with 31 K's. He was battled his way through postseason stress enter the 2020 playoff 9-11 with a 4.77 ERA, the highest ERA among pitchers with 100 postseason innings. Tampa Bay with start this year's ace Tyler Glasnow (5-1, 4.08) who is 2-2 with a 6.08 ERA. With these numbers showing it would seem obvious that LA is the side but I don't believe so. Last night's come from behind win has put the Rays in a confident position and having faced Kershaw just five days ago give them another look. Tonight it is TAMPA BAY! |
10-21-20 | Rays v. Dodgers -131 | Top | 6-4 | Loss | -131 | 9 h 45 m | Show |
Tampa Bay vs L.A. Dodgers 8:10 ET Rays over Dodgers- Okay, it's only one game but the Rays realize with their Cy Young Award winner on the mound that a win here is crucial. Tampa Bay will hand the ball to Blake Snell (4-2, 3.24 ERA) who is 2-2 with a 3.20 postseason ERA. L.A. will most likely start Tony Gonsolin (2-3, 3.23) who struggled in two appearances against Atlanta in the postseason (0-1, 9.95) walking six and striking out eight. Runs have been hard to come by for the Rays who averaged 3.5 the last two series and most of those runs came via home runs seven by Randy Arozarena and five by Manuel Margot who hit one during the regular season. From what we saw in Game 1 it looks like it is supposed to look with a 2-1 favorite winning big. But, don't sleep on these Rays even if they fail here they can still make it series and I'm not concerned with the zig-zag stuff I'm looking for the winner everyday. Take LOS ANGELES! |
10-20-20 | Rays v. Dodgers -170 | 3-8 | Win | 100 | 9 h 45 m | Show
Tampa Bay vs. L.A. Dodgers 8:08 ET Dodgers over Rays- In a season like none other the teams with the best record from each league are meetings in the World Series the first time since 2003. These two got here by taking different roads as Tampa Bay went out to a 3-0 lead over Houston in the Championship series and then had to battle back in Game 7 after losing three straight to earn their berth in the series. The Dodgers took a different route finding themselves down 3-1 to rally with three straight wins in defeating Atlanta. This is LA's third WS appearance in the past four seasons and will start Clayton Kershaw (6-2, 2.16 ERA) who is 2-1 with a 3.32 ERA in three 2020 starts. The Rays will start Tyler Glasnow (5-1, 4.08) who is 2-1 with a 4.66 ERA in the postseason. At -210 for the series the action in Las Vegas is pouring in on the Dodgers as it should be with their MLB highest payroll of 95.6 million compared to the Rays who rank No. 28 with a 29.3 million payroll. The money really doesn't mean much in a battle such as this but the edge definitely goes to the Dodgers. Take LOS ANGELES! |
10-18-20 | Braves +129 v. Dodgers | 3-4 | Loss | -100 | 9 h 13 m | Show
Atlanta at L.A. Dodgers 8:15 ET 'Youth must be served!' Sunday's Game 7 of the NL Championship series will have the future of baseball on the mound as Atlanta's 22-year old Ian Anderson (3-2. 1.95 ERA) is 2-0, 0.00 ERA in 15.2 playoff innings with 22 K's including four shutout innings against the Dodgers. L.A. will most likely start Tony Gonsolin and get the bulk of the innings with 'All-Staff' available. Likewise for the Braves who manager Brain Snitker said 'everybody' on his staff is healthy and available. Look for the Braves to shock the Dodgers here. Take ATLANTA! |
10-17-20 | Astros v. Rays -113 | Top | 2-4 | Win | 100 | 10 h 42 m | Show |
Houston at Tampa Bay 8:30 ET Do you think baseball set this up like this? Sometimes I wonder. I'm still sick from the 2004 0-3 comeback by the 'Commie Saux' against the 27-time World Series Champion New York Yankees. HA! In my heart I don't want those dirty stinkin' cheater Astros to go anywhere. Houston received biggest break ever with the virus affecting this season as they never had to listen to the fans wrath and believe me it just wasn't from the fans as the commish came down heavy early at aggressions towards the Astros. It's too bad for the Astros because I saw them 'live' a number of times in Houston from Altuve and Correa's rookie seasons and you could tell that they were going to be good...but! So, now my 'main man' born in Jersey and grew up in Connecticut veteran Charlie Morton (2-2, 4.74 ERA) gets the Game 7 ball and he is 2-0 with a 0.92 ERA in the post season. My other 'cunnythumber' Lance McCullars (3-3, 3.93), 0-1 4.09 ERA in post season 7 innings and 11 K's in the 4-2 loss while surrendering five homers this post-season. Charlie Morton who went 5 innings with 0 runs on 5 hits in Game 2. Take TAMPA BAY! |
10-17-20 | Braves v. Dodgers -139 | 1-3 | Win | 100 | 6 h 37 m | Show
Atlanta vs L.A Dodgers 4:30 ET Dodgers over Braves- Well, the LA Dodgers did have MLB's best record, did you believe that they were dead? Although down 3-1 in games it might seem daunting as this is just that kind of season. Now, LA is down 3-2 and all the Dodgers need is too win back to-back games against what so far have been un-hittable arms. At least the rookies, yeah the Atlanta rookie pitchers have taken over in the playoffs. There really isn't any pressure on the Braves as of yet because they were never expected to be in this position in the first place. Max Fried (7-0, 2.25 ERA) 0-0, 2.65 Post-season not going you blow you away whereas Walker Buehler (1-0, 3.44) 0-0, 2.77 post-season. 23K's 13 innings will throw it past you. Take the DODGERS! |
10-16-20 | Astros +126 v. Rays | Top | 7-4 | Win | 126 | 8 h 34 m | Show |
Tampa Bay vs Houston 6:07 ET Astros over Rays- Tampa Bay's series lead is down to 3-2 advantage as the 'mojo' of this series has moved to the 'dark side' as the cheatin' Astros are stayin' alive. The Rays have a .197 batting average and obviously pitching is they're key to winning. Today, Houston will start Framber Valdez (5-3, 3.57 ERA) who is 2-1 with a 2.00 ERA in the post season losing Game 1 allowing two runs on only four hits in six innings. Tampa Bay will start Blake Snell (4-2, 3.24) who went five innings in Game 1 allowing just one run. After their 0-3 team meeting Houston responded with a pair of wins and nothing matters unless they win again today. Take the HOUSTON! |
10-15-20 | Rays -137 v. Astros | Top | 3-4 | Loss | -137 | 2 h 28 m | Show |
Tampa Bay vs Houston 5:07 ET The Rays have a 3-1 series advantage despite a .197 batting average and obviously pitching is their key to winning. As of 1PM ET Tampa Bay has announced a starter in John Curtiss (0-0,0.00 ERA) and for Houston it looks like manager Dusty Baker will use 'All-Staff' as he has yet to announce a starter. After their 0-3 team meeting Houston responded with their 4-3 win in Game 4 but, nothing matters unless they win again today and they won't. Take the TAMPA BAY! |
10-14-20 | Rays -140 v. Astros | Top | 3-4 | Loss | -140 | 10 h 35 m | Show |
Tampa Bay vs Houston 8:40 ET Rays over Astros- Tampa Bay is sending Tyler Glasnow (7-1, 4.08 ERA) to the mound and they have has won his last 11 starts. In Playoff action he has 20 K's in 13.1 innings and still he looked back at tape and said that he was tipping his pitches. If he corrects that who's going to hit him? Zack Greinke (3-3, 4.16) goes to the hill and he hasn't had his best of his 17 seasons, as shoulder problems have plague him the past three years, but he is aided by the cardboard cut outs in place of fans because of his anxiety phobia. I believe the Rays will get to Greinke early and go deep into the Astros bullpen. Take TAMPA BAY! |
10-13-20 | Rays v. Astros -101 | Top | 5-2 | Loss | -101 | 10 h 42 m | Show |
Tampa Bay vs Houston 8:40 ET Astros over Rays- 'We've' posted Megabucks winners on the Rays the first two games and like this spot even more than that pair. To me it's the way the 'numbers' set up and I believe that 'they' have moved to the other side. Tampa Bay will be starting Ryan Yarbrough (1-4, 3.56 ERA) who will be making his first ever post-season start but has appeared against the Yankees in Game 4 going five innings allowing two runs on six hits with just one strikeout against those 'free' swingers. Houston will start Jose Urquidy (1-1, 2.73 ERA) and he has no post season record but he surrendered four solo homers to Oakland last Wednesday with no decision. The Astros will put the ball in play against Yarbrough as he is not a swing and miss pitcher and Houston will make contact often enough to score and win. Take HOUSTON! |
10-13-20 | Braves +158 v. Dodgers | 8-7 | Win | 158 | 7 h 13 m | Show
Atlanta vs L.A. Dodgers 6:05 ET Braves over Dodgers- Man, I can't help it but 'we' must remember that this is a seven-game series and a 2-0 lead is not so daunting as it would be in a Best-of-5. Los Angeles will try and even the series with 3-time Cy Young Award winner Clayton Kershaw (6-2, 2.16 ERA) who will make his fourth start this post season (2-0, 1.93) and he has allowed three runs in 14 innings with 19 K's and has a 0.43 career ERA in playoffs against the Braves. But, Atlanta has a weapon that came on the scene August 26 making his big league debut, He had an ERA of 1.95 in six starts down the stretch and has 11.2 scoreless playoff innings striking out 17 and allowing just five hits with a 0.69 WHIP. The 22-year old throws BB's and the Dodgers are in a funk...take ATLANTA! |
10-12-20 | Braves +128 v. Dodgers | 5-1 | Win | 128 | 9 h 6 m | Show
Atlanta vs L.A. Dodgers 8:08 ET Braves over Dodgers- I don't expect the Dodgers to panic but Atlanta is in a great spot with no pressure as all the expectations are for Los Angeles. This 7-game series will be played at the Texas Rangers Globe Life Field have home teams 2-2-1-1-1 with LA advantage of batting last four times and the winner gets to stay for the World Series which will also be played in this park. Undefeated Max Fried (7-0, 2.25 ERA) and the Braves are 12-1 in his 13 starts this season. The Dodgers will start Walker Buehler (1-0, 3.44) who is rated the third hardest throwing starting pitcher. These are the NL's two top scoring teams with Atlanta going 13-4 against the NL West but are just 6-15 in their last 21 as underdogs. LA has had their way with the Atlanta leading the series 35-16 in the last 51 meetings. Also the Dodgers are 20-8 against left-handers. But, positive are expected when the teams are playing for the pennant. Shit happens...Take ATLANTA! |
10-12-20 | Astros v. Rays -122 | Top | 2-4 | Win | 100 | 5 h 1 m | Show |
Houston vs Tampa Bay 4:07 ET Rays over Astros- Houston announced their rotation early and Lance McCullers (3-3, 3.93 ERA) has been elected to start Game 2 regardless of the Game 1 outcome. Although he had a 2.18 ERA his last eight starts in the regular season in the playoffs against Oakland he surrendered five runs (four earned) and three homers and has a post-season ERA of 9.00. These two have split their last 10 meetings with the Astros taking the Division series 3-2 last season and getting to the World Series. With the Rays leading 1-0 they will counter with veteran Charlie Morton (3-2, 4.40) who is 3-0 in post-season play with an ERA of 1.20 and defeated the Astros in Game 3 of last year's playoffs. 'Doctor Evil' has taken away Houston's 'Mojo' and pored it over the Rays...Take TAMPA BAY! |
10-11-20 | Astros v. Rays -146 | Top | 1-2 | Win | 100 | 19 h 19 m | Show |
Houston vs Tampa Bay 7:37 ET Rays over Astros- This is the fourth straight season Houston has appeared in the ALCS having defeated Minnesota and Oakland winning 6-of-7 games. Tampa Bat of course came-from-behind to beat the Yankees and will be sending Blake Snell to the mound in Game 1 of this Best-of-Seven' series and he is 2-2 with a 4.73 ERA in six career starts against the Astros. The 'Space Cadets' will start Framber Valdez who is 2-0 with a 1.50 ERA in 12 playoff innings and has never faced the Rays. Snell made three playoff appearances last season all against Houston with an ERA of 1.69. Take TAMPA BAY! |
10-09-20 | Yankees v. Rays +146 | Top | 1-2 | Win | 146 | 8 h 27 m | Show |
Tampa Bay vs N.Y. Yankees 7:10 ET Rays over Yankees- The Yankees have named Gerrit Cole as their Game 5 starter before they had even posted their 5-1 victory to stretch this series to it's limit and that's how it should be. Tampa Bay's starter Tyler Glasnow last faced Cole in the AL Division Series final as Cole started for Houston a game the Astros won 6-1 over the Rays at Minute Maid Park. Cole who threw 97 pitches in Game 1 has also lost two NCDS series finals to St. Louis and the Cubs while pitching for the Pirates. Both hurlers are on short rest as Glasnow got 10 strikeouts in Game 2 working 5+ innings surrendering four runs on three hits (long ball). The Rays sting here. Take TAMPA BAY! |
10-08-20 | Rays +125 v. Yankees | Top | 1-5 | Loss | -100 | 8 h 5 m | Show |
Tampa Bay vs N.Y. Yankees 7:10 ET Rays over Yankees- The Yankees have already named Gerrit Cole as their Game 5 starter but the problem as I see it is that they have to get their first. New York will start the very inconsistent Jordan Montgomery (2-3 5.11 ERA) who is getting into his first post-season action. He has allowed seven run over his last two starts and gave up four runs in 2/3 of an inning against the Rays Sept. 2. Tampa Bay will start Ryan Thompson (1-2 4.44 ERA) who has worked two post-season innings surrendering three hits but no runs. Rays manager Dave Cash coined the phase a 'stable of arms' referring to his pitching staff as he will use his 'All-Staff' if need be. As I have said so many times before the Yankees are not built for the playoffs with a weak defense their Achilles heel. Take TAMPA BAY! |
10-08-20 | A's v. Astros -102 | 6-11 | Win | 100 | 2 h 58 m | Show
Oakland vs Houston 3:30 ET A's over Astros- Okay, we have a series and it looks like it will be a good one. Houston blew their shot at a sweep blowing a late two-run lead and forced to face a team that feel they were on the brink and now have life. Oakland has confidence in their man Frankie Montas (3-5, 5.60 ERA) who is 1-0 in the post-season going two innings with two K's and a run. Houston it's Zack Grienke who had five starts in the 2019 playoffs going 27 innings allowing 13 runs. This time we expect better. Take HOUSTON! |
10-08-20 | Braves v. Marlins +122 | 7-0 | Loss | -100 | 4 h 37 m | Show
Atlanta vs Miami 2:05 ET Marlins over Braves- There's no question in my mind Atlanta will face the Dodgers in the NL Championship Series but in Game 3 there has been such a dramatic line change from Games 1 & 2 I can't pass it up. The Braves were favored by at least 2-1 in the two winning games and now the price is a pick'em. Atlanta will start Kyle Wright (2-4, 5.21 ERA) and he has been shelled when throwing against the Marlins going 0-2 with a 6.69 ERA in three starts. Miami will start Sixto Sanchez (3-2, 3.46) whose ERA in his first five innings is 1.69 and after that it's over 10. After facing Ian Anderson Wright's pitches will look like balloons. Take the MARLINS! |
10-07-20 | Rays +121 v. Yankees | Top | 8-4 | Win | 121 | 4 h 40 m | Show |
Tampa Bay vs New York Yankees 7:10 ET Rays over Yankees- It is all or nothing for New York as they rarely score runs that are not powered by a home run. Yesterday, they had men on base throughout but their big swings and little contact created 18 strikeouts and no late inning rally. The key to playing against New York is knowing when Gary Sanchez is not in the lineup. Monday, he was 0-4, 3 K's and just ONE passed ball (that shows improvement!). Yankees pitchers HATE pitching to Sanchez and can't throw certain pitches with confidence as he mishandles so many balls during the game. There are actually times when he's at the backstop picking up the ball after a called third strike. Okay, enough about that hoax, bum and imposter of a professional baseball player. On to a team that is full of holes and were just not built for the playoffs as they put out the worst defense in the MLB every day. Sometimes, their defense (lack of) seems like a practical joke it's so bad. So guess, what...take TAMPA BAY! |
10-07-20 | A's v. Astros -102 | 9-7 | Loss | -102 | 5 h 51 m | Show
Oakland vs Houston 3:35 ET A's over Astros- Houston who is in a commanding position leading 2-0 in the Best-of-Five series will enter Game 3 with Jose Urquidy on the mound as Zack Greinke's sore shoulder had him 1-4 with a 6.08 ERA in September. Urquidy has two starts against the A's going 0-1, with a 2.45 ERA. Oakland will start Jesus Luzardo who's post-season career has him 0-1, with a 4.26 ERA with 14 K's in 9.2 innings. The Astros have been going threw the motions all season and now have picked up the pace in the playoffs. Take HOUSTON! |
10-06-20 | Padres +153 v. Dodgers | 1-5 | Loss | -100 | 11 h 33 m | Show
San Diego vs L.A. Dodgers 9:38 ET Padres over Dodgers- The upstart Padres were second to the Dodgers in NL wins and won four of the ten meetings that will filled with temperamental actions where Fernando Tatis ran over LA catcher Will Smith on two different occasions and the LA's Chris Taylor ran over SD catch Austin Hedges and then SD's Trent Grisham posed at the plate after hitting a home run off Kershaw. Personally, I like the Padres cockiness because they believe that they are good and he's right. Good enough to win this series remains to be seen. Dodgers starter Buehler Walker's blister seems to have heeled enough, although he only worked four innings against the Brewers in Game 1. Take SAN DIEGO! |
10-06-20 | Yankees +117 v. Rays | 5-7 | Loss | -100 | 9 h 21 m | Show
N.Y. Yankees vs Tampa Bay 8:10 ET Yankees over Rays- I am questioning why New York is a starting rookie in Deivi Garcia who had a 3-2, 4.98 ERA during the regular season and will be the youngest Yankees pitcher to ever start a post season game. He must be ready! Tampa Bay will start Tyler Glasnow who has made three starts against the Yankees this season going 1-1, with a 3.77 ERA with 22 strikeouts in just 14.1 innings and is 1-2 lifetime. It seems funny to me that Rays manager Dave Cash said 'we have the right guy on the mound today', well then why didn't he start yesterday. Take NEW YORK! |
10-06-20 | Astros -102 v. A's | 5-2 | Win | 100 | 6 h 39 m | Show
Houston vs Oakland 4:37 ET Astros over A's- Houston's Framber Valdez was not afraid to take the ball in his first post-season outing having spun five scoreless innings in his Game 1 victory over the Minnesota. He had one outing against this season Oakland and went seven strong innings allowing one earned run while striking out nine. Oakland's Sean Manaea took on a different route in his post-season debut giving up four runs (3-Homers) in two innings taking the loss against the White Sox, but he was dominant in his lone start against the Astros going seven innings allowing one run during the season. Astros have the 'mojo'...take HOUSTON! |
10-05-20 | Yankees -143 v. Rays | Top | 9-3 | Win | 100 | 22 h 17 m | Show |
New York Yankees vs Tampa Bay 8:07 ET Yankees over Rays- From what I am reading and hearing from the media is that the Rays and Yankees have a rivalry that is intense as the Red Sox and Yankees. Let me tell you from a New Yorker's view-point and even from a Bostonians eyes that will never happen. Yanks and Sox go back to 1919 and the trading of Babe Ruth and the continuation is on going. Not, to say that the Rays don't get 'up' for any series with the Bronx Bombers, after all they are still 27-time World Series Champions. The Rays have been the best team in baseball from start to finish this season and will start former Cy Young winner Black Snell who started Game 1 against Toronto and allowed no runs in 5.2 innings while striking out nine. Gerrit Cole was 7-3 2.84 ERA in the regular season but had a 4.96 ERA allowing five home runs in three starts against the Rays. There will be one huge difference in Cole's start in Game 1...Gary Sanchez the worst catcher in MLB history will NOT be behind the plate as he was in his three starts against Tampa. Cole's ERA is 3-runs lower when ANYONE but Sanchez is 'catching' (he actually doesn't catch the ball he mostly just retrieves it off the back stop). The fact that New York is such a strong favorite against the MLB team with the best record lends me to laying it. Take the NEW YORK YANKEES! |
10-02-20 | Cardinals v. Padres -115 | Top | 0-4 | Win | 100 | 6 h 56 m | Show |
St. Louis at San Diego 7:08 ET Cardinals over Padres- St. Louis gets the quick advantage in knowing who their starting pitcher is going to be and with Jack Flaherty (4-3, 4.90 ERA) on the hill and that's a good start as her is 1-0 with a 1.10 ERA against the Padres. The Cardinals may need him to go deep into the game as their bullpen gave up nine runs and nine hits in two innings work. With their No. 1 & 2 starters down and the 3 & 4 having pitched the past two days puts the Padres up against the wall. Yesterday's win was just the second for San Diego in the last 12 playoff meetings with the Cards but the Pods are 21-11 at home this season. History rules...take SAN DIEGO! |
10-01-20 | Cardinals +145 v. Padres | Top | 9-11 | Loss | -100 | 8 h 26 m | Show |
St. Louis at San Diego 5:08 ET Cardinals over Padres- Here we have the experienced post season veteran in the Cardinals Adam Wainwright (5-3, 3.15 ERA) who has a career 2.81 ERA in 105.2 postseason innings. Zach Davies (7-4, 2.73) and he has had his best season not allowing more than three runs in any of his 12 starts. St. Louis who has defeated the Padres in 10 of 11 playoff games are 6-2 in their last eight road games. San Diego has some great supportive trends but there is one leak and it is that they are 1-5 in their last six road games and 1-7 in their last eight playoff games. Take ST. LOUIS! |
10-01-20 | White Sox v. A's -101 | Top | 4-6 | Win | 100 | 3 h 23 m | Show |
Chicago White Sox vs Oakland 3:10 ET Starting pitchers in this deciding Game 3 will have plenty of significance as Chicago has now won 15 straight games (that's 15-0) in their last 15 starts against Left-handers. So, the difference between starting lefty Sean Manaes (4-3, 4.50 ERA) or right-hander Mike Fiers (6-3, 4.58). Fiers has gone 19-5 at home (at San Diego) since joining the A's while the White Sox are just 21-26 against right-handers this season. Chicago's most likely starter will be Dane Dunning (2-0, 3.97) who was bombed in his last two appearances against the Cubs and Indians. Take OAKLAND! |

10-01-20 | Reds +132 v. Braves | 0-5 | Loss | -100 | 2 h 46 m | Show
Cincinnati at Atlanta 12:08 ET Reds over Braves- This should be a really interesting pitching dual and after what we saw yesterday I don't expect many runs from either side and here's why. Starting pitching in the playoffs brings out the best in most good hurlers (Bieber Excepted) and this early afternoon contest pits Cincinnati's Luis Castillo (4-6, 3.21 ERA) against the Braves phenom Ian Anderson (3-2, 1.95) has had six MLB starts including his debut when he held the Yankees one-hit in six innings and two weeks later he shut down the Nationals on one-hit in seven innings. Castillo turned his season around after a shaky August before going 4-0 with a 1.26 ERA in September and before getting beat on Saturday. I've got trends all over the place on both sides but what the Reds need is to put the ball in play when there are men in scoring position. Today...take CINCINNATI! |
09-30-20 | Cardinals +150 v. Padres | 7-4 | Win | 150 | 7 h 34 m | Show
St. Louis at San Diego 3:00 ET Cardinals over Padres- It's really too bad, I mean San Diego was a money maker for 'us' all season and now entering the playoff for the first timer since 2006 their front line pitching has taken a hit. Losing Dinelson Lamet to injury on Friday and Zack Davies isn't available so the Padres will start Chris Paddock (4-5, 4.75 ERA). St. Louis who has defeated the Padres in nine of 10 playoff games eliminating San Diego three times will start lefty Kwang Hyun Kim (3-0, 1.62) who allowed only 28 hits in 39 innings. The Cardinals who hit the fewest homers in MLB (51) are 5-2 in last seven on the road. The Padres have been great as home favorites going 20-6 and 11-3 against team will winning records but are 1-4 in their last five home games and 1-6 in their last seven playoff games. Take ST. LOUIS! |
09-30-20 | Blue Jays v. Rays -132 | 2-8 | Win | 100 | 5 h 23 m | Show
Toronto at Tampa Bay 4:07 ET Rays over Blue Jays- Tampa Bay who had the best record in the AL used their superior pitching to win Game One 3-1 as three pitchers kept the Jays bats silent. Today, they start Tyler Glasnow (5-1, 4.08 ERA) who is 0-2 with a 7.71 ERA to two post-season starts while Toronto will start Hyun Jin Ryu (5-2, 2.69). The Blue Jays are just 1-6 in their last seven road games and 1-5 in their last six playoff games and are 17-35 in the last 52 meetings and 39-84 at Tampa Bay. Take the RAYS! |
09-30-20 | White Sox v. A's -120 | Top | 3-5 | Win | 100 | 5 h 32 m | Show |
Chicago White Sox at Oakland 3:10 ET A's over White Sox- Chicago came out of the doldrums after losing 7-of-8 and 9 of their final 12 games of the season by shutting down Oakland 4-1 in the first of this Best-of-3 series. The A's who have not won a post season series since 2006 already face elimination and will send Chris Bassitt (5-2, 2.29 ERA) to the hill and he has some impressive stats. Bassitt finished the season allowing just one run in his last four starts covering 26.2 innings and he is 2-1 with a 3.04 ERA in four careers starts against the Pale Hose. Veteran lefty Dallas Keuchel is 6-6 against Oakland including 2-4 on the road and a 7-1 loss this season. Although this game may be played in San Diego when Bassitt is pitching for at home he is 2-1 with a 0.72 ERA. Take OAKLAND! |
09-29-20 | Yankees v. Indians +100 | Top | 12-3 | Loss | -100 | 8 h 28 m | Show |
New York Yankees at Cleveland 7:00 ET Indians over Yankees- This could be the best pitching match of the entire playoffs as the Yankees send Gerrit Cole (7-3, 2.84 ERA) to the mound and Cleveland will counter with this year's sure shot Cy Young winner Shane Bieber (8-1,1.63) who won the pitching Triple Crown with most wins (8), lowest ERA (1.63) and most strikeouts (122). New York was cruising along in until a plethora of injuries took their once powerful lineup down and down hard. They are left with four starter hitting .200 or less. Cole was fantastic in last year's playoffs going 4-1 with a 1.72 ERA and a WHIP of 0.87 and is 2-1 with a 2.79 ERA against Cleveland. Shane Bieber has been untouchable and he is 1-0 lifetime versus the Yanks. The Indians were 18-12 at home while New York was 12-18 as they lost 4-of-5 and 8-of-last 10 while the Tribe closed winning 7-of-8. Take CLEVELAND! |
09-29-20 | White Sox -113 v. A's | 4-1 | Win | 100 | 5 h 46 m | Show
Chicago White Sox at Oakland 3:00 ET White Sox over A's- Both these clubs enter the playoffs after their most recent shaky play as Oakland has lost nine of their last 17 while the White Sox went into the tank as soon as they clinched their first playoff berth since 2008. Chicago enter this fry losers in 7-of-8 and 9-of-12 including 0-5 on the road. Now, here comes the part I hate (because the A's have been good to 'us.') as Oakland 8-1 in their last nine home games as underdog and that is strong but that was this season, because they are 2-8 in their last 10 'playoff' games as underdogs. Oakland has destroyed the White Sox over the years going 5-1 of last and are 23-51 in their last 73 games in Oakland. Chicago will send Lucas 'No-Hit' Giolito (4-3, 3.48 ERA) to the hill and his career high of 13 strikeouts came in six innings against t4he A's last august in Chicago. Meanwhile the A's will start lefty Jesus Luzardo (3-2, 4.12) and he has been outstanding at home going 3-1 with a 2.40 ERA and he has three innings of post season work against the Rays allowing just one hit. I had to take a good look at this one the A's are so strong at home 21-9 70% but Las Vegas deems the Pale Hose the side. Take WHITE SOX! |
09-29-20 | Astros +160 v. Twins | 4-1 | Win | 160 | 4 h 57 m | Show
Houston at Minnesota 2:00 ET Astros over Twins- This is without a doubt this is ugliest play of the day and I feel 'we' must have this side. Here we go, Houston without the benefit of knowing what pitch is on its way finished the season under .500 and a miserable 9-21 on the road and of course the Twins have the best home recored in MLB and are 23-7 when hosting. Lets look at the pitching matchup as veteran Zack Greinke (3-3, 4.03 ERA) gets the start for the Astros and after a quick start posting a 1.84 ERA in his first five starts heĀ is 0-3 with a 4.04 ERA also going 0-2 with a 4.28 ERA. He did have a great WHIP 1.13 but his post-season numbers are dreadful as is his lifetime number against the Twins is 5-9 with a 4.64 ERA including 1-4 (5.14 ERA) and finally his post season stats 3-6, 4.21 ERA. So I Guess it's only right that I list Kenta Maeda (6-1, 2.70 ERA) stats as he finished the MLB WHIP leader 0.75 with 80 K's in 66 innings and was 3-0 with a 1.91 ERA at home in 2020. Have ya heard enough...well, I have a bit more. Houston is 5-0 in their last five playoffs games as an underdog and Minnesota is 0-11 in their last 11 playoff home games and the Astros mare 15-7 over the Twins on the 22 meetings. Take HOUSTON! |
09-27-20 | Mets -128 v. Nationals | 5-15 | Loss | -128 | 4 h 38 m | Show
New York Mets at Washington 3:05 ET Mets over Nationals- Washington the defending World Series Champions will finish below .500 this season and become only the third MLB champ to finish last the following year. New York who has had a disappointing season as well had high expectations but failed miserably and needs to win today to avoid falling into a tie at the bottom with the Nats. Seth Lugo (3-3, 3.82 ERA) from out of the bullpen is now a Mets starter while Washington will go with Austin Voth (1-5, 6.25) who is 1-2 with a 5.74 lifetime against the Mets...take NEW YORK! |
09-26-20 | Reds +116 v. Twins | 3-7 | Loss | -100 | 9 h 35 m | Show
Cincinnati at Minnesota 7:10 ET Reds over Twins- Both of these clubs are playoff bound as the Reds overcame a slow start and Minnesota just pounds opponents at home where they are 23-6 after last night's loss. The Twins will start Michael Pineda (2-0, 3.18 ERA) who hasn't allowed more than three runs in any of his four starts and he will be opposed by Luis Castillo (4-5, 2.86) who is 4-0 with a 1.26 ERA in his September starts. Cincy has won 10 of 12 and stays hot here. Take the REDS! |
09-26-20 | Cubs v. White Sox -150 | 5-9 | Win | 100 | 8 h 60 m | Show
Chicago Cubs at Chicago White Sox 7:10 ET White Sox over Cubs- The White Sox may have hurt themselves by clinching a playoff spot so early as they have taken a siesta and now lost six straight and seven of eight. They now fond themselves one game behind the Twins tied with Cleveland for second place in the Central. The Cubs lowered their 'magic' number to one with three straight losses and will start Jon Lester (3-2, 4.40 ERA) who surrendered eight runs on nine hits in his only start against the White Sox this season. Rookie Dane Dunning (2-0, 3.19) will help halt the Sox slide today. Take WHITE SOX! |
09-26-20 | Brewers -110 v. Cardinals | Top | 3-0 | Win | 100 | 9 h 51 m | Show |
Milwaukee at St. Louis 7:05 ET Brewers over Cardinals- St. Louis will be playing only 58 games two short of a full season of 60 and they need one more win to secure a playoff berth. So, needing one win they send Adam Wainwright (5-2, 3.05 ERA) to the hill and he has been victimized before at home in the last two weeks and this time it won't be his doing. Brandon Woodruff (2-5, 3.43) is measured to be the third hardest thrower in baseball and with 81 K's in 65 innings and with only 53 hits allowed he is showing it be, even without wins. Let's face it the Brewers didn't help him win games as weak hitting (team BA .225) and poor fielding did him in record wise. In a must game or they are out. Take MILWAUKEE! |
09-25-20 | Reds +138 v. Twins | 7-2 | Win | 138 | 9 h 5 m | Show
Cincinnati at Minnesota 8:05 ET Reds over Twins- After a poor start the Reds have won 9-of-11 and moved into NL playoff wild card position while Minnesota now leads the AL Central over the White Sox by winning their last four games. Cincinnati will start Tyler Mahle (2-2, 3.57 ERA) and he is 2-1 lifetime against the Twins who will start Jose Berrios (5-3, 3.72) is 3-0 in September with a 3.10 ERA. Minnesota has the best home record in MLB 23-5 but falls short tonight. Take CINCINNATI! |

Chicago Cubs at Chicago White Sox 6:10 ET Cubs over White Sox- The NL Central leading Cubs are hosting their cross town rival the Chicago White Sox. Both clubs are struggled of late losing a combined 11 of 13 after having qualified for the playoffs with the White having lost their last five. The Cubs are 3-7 in their last 10 games but will send Yu Darvish (7-3, 2.22 ERA) who is 2-1 versus the White Sox with 38 K's in 32 innings. The White Sox will start Dylan Cease (5-3, 3.52) who is 0-3 with a 4.71 ERA against the Cubs but they are 0-5 in their last five games against righty starters. The Cubs are also 5-2 in their last seven as road favorites. Take CUBS! |
09-24-20 | Brewers -140 v. Cardinals | 2-4 | Loss | -140 | 9 h 17 m | Show
Milwaukee at St. Louis 8:15 ET Brewers over Cardinals- There are six NL teams battling over the final four wild card spots and these two are among them with St. Louis one-game above .500 and Milwaukee is one game below. Both these clubs have lost 2-of-last-3 but Milwaukee has won five of the last seven meetings. Today we have the Cardinals at home with one of their most effective pitchers in Kwang-Hyun Kim (2-0, 1.59 ERA) on the mound and they are underdogs to the Brewers. Milwaukee will start Corbin Burns (4-0-, 1.77) and they get the win here. Take the BREWERS! |

Houston at Texas 8:05 ET Astros over Rangers- Houston needs a pair of wins to clinch a playoff spot and their bats have gone cold the past two weeks. The Astros have scored more than three runs just four times in their last 15 games and will now face Lance Lynn (6-2, 2.53 ERA) who is having a Comeback-of-the Year season. St. Louis at Kansas City 8:05 ET Royals over Cardinals- It took until September 22 for the Royals to be eliminated from the MLB post-season probably at least a month later than what would have happened during a full season. St. Louis who has eight games to play in the next five days will start Carlos Martinez (0-2, 8.40 ERA) who allowed five runs in his last start against Pittsburgh (only one earned). Kansas City will start Danny Duffy (3-4, 5.01) who has not faced the Cards this season but is 2-1 with a 3.91 ERA in his career. Take the ROYALS! |

New York who still has a 'puncher's' chance for the playoffs will send Michael Wacha (1-3, 6.75) to the hill who tossed four scoreless innings in his last outing. In a surprise the Mets delay the Rays celebration. Take NEW YORK M-E-T-S! |

The Giants will start Drew Smyly (0-0, 3.94) and the Jints have won all three of his starts and post another win here today. Take SAN FRANCISCO! |

Tampa Bay at New York Mets 7:10 ET Mets over Rays- Tampa Bay has the most wins in the AL and need just one more win to clinch their first Division title in 10 years. The Rays will start Blake Snell (4-1, 3.05 ERA) who has faced New York once before shutting them out for 7.1 innings winning 3-0 in his only appearance against the Mets. New York will start Seth Lugo (2-3, 4.34) who had the shortest start of his career giving up six runs in 1.2 innings and is looking to recover here as they Mets actually lead the majors in batting average (.273) and on-base-percentage (.351) and score enough to win here. Take the M-E-T-S! |
09-21-20 | Astros v. Mariners +128 | 1-6 | Win | 128 | 10 h 4 m | Show
Houston at Seattle 9:10 ET Mariners over Astros- Seattle who, believe it or not was in the thick of it all before the played five 'home' games in San Francisco because of the wildfires and went 1-4. They are now the ninth seed in an 8-team race and are 5-games behind Houston for the final playoff spot. Houston meanwhile clinched their playoff spot this weekend and are just waiting for the return of Altuve and others. While just 7-18 on the road the Astros are an amazing 24-2 against the Mariners the past 26 meetings and will start Lance McCullers Jr. (3-2, 4.87 ERA) who is 7-2 with a 2.95 ERA in 13 career starts against Seattle. The Mariners will send their best in Marco Gonzalez (6-2, 3.49) who lost Opening Day to the 'Stros but is 6-1 since gets his chance to beat them for the first time (0-5). Milwaukee at Cincinnati 6:40 ET Reds over Brewers- This is a meeting between a pair of hot clubs who are both at .500 and fighting for a playoff berth. Milwaukee is on a season high four-game winning streak and will send hard throwing Brandon Woodruff (2-4, 3.45 ERA) to the hill and he is 3-2 with a 4.25 ERA in seven games against the Reds. |||||||

Chicago White Sox at Cleveland 6:10 ET Indians over White Sox- Since ending an eight-game losing streak Cleveland has won 3-of-4 and needs just two wins to get back into the MLB Playoffs. The Indians will start Aaron Civale (3-5, 3.80 ERA) who hasn't won in his last five starts going 0-3 while Chicago has clinched their playoff spot their first post-season appearance since 2008. Dane Dunning (2-0, 2.33) take the mound for the Sox and they are 5-0 in his five starts. |||||||
09-20-20 | Twins v. Cubs -147 | 4-0 | Loss | -147 | 8 h 49 m | Show
Minnesota at Chicago Cubs 7:08 ET Cubs over Twins- Great pitching matchup with Minnesota sending hard throwing Jose Barrios (4-3, 4.15 ERA) who has thrown at least five innings in each of his previous five starts but no more than six. The Central Division leading Cubs will send a refurbished Yu Darvish (7-2, 1.86) to the hill who is having his best season in years. Against the Twins Darvish is 1-1 in three starts with a 1.77 ERA with 25 strikeouts in 20 innings. Barrios has had one appearance against Chicago taking a loss after surrendering six runs in 4.2 innings for an ERA of 12.46. Take the CUBS! |
09-20-20 | Braves v. Mets -118 | 7-0 | Loss | -118 | 2 h 4 m | Show
Atlanta at New York Mets 1:10 ET Mets over Braves- It's seems like every time Rick Porcello (1-5, 6.06 ERA) gets the start they systems say to go 'with' him in his starts as he comes up the favorite. His mound opponent for Atlanta will be Kyle Wright (1-4, 7.20) and he has a career ERA of 7.26 in 50 innings. Although Porcello is 0-4 with a 5.75 ERA in his last seven starts he is 3-2 lifetime against the Braves. Listen to this or read it the braves are 2-14 in their last 16 games when a road underdog. Take the M-E-T-S! |
09-20-20 | White Sox v. Reds -125 | Top | 3-7 | Win | 100 | 2 h 20 m | Show |
Chicago White Sox at Cincinnati 1:10 ET Reds over White Sox- Chicago has won 8 of 10 and are headed to the MLB Playoffs for the first time since 2008 and believe me they do belong. Cincinnati who buried themselves early had their six game winning streak stopped yesterday by the White Sox 5-0 and have won 10 of 15. Dylan Cease (5-2, 3.20 ERA) get the nod for Chicago and he hasn't gone beyond six innings in 10 starts while Michael Lorenzen (2-1, 4.56) earned his second straight start after making his first start since 2018. White Sox are 8-22 against inter-league righties and the Reds are 6-2 as inter-league favorites. Take CINCINNATI! |
09-19-20 | Twins -130 v. Cubs | Top | 8-1 | Win | 100 | 20 h 34 m | Show |
Minnesota at Chicago Cubs 8:15 ET Twins over Cubs- Sometimes you see a game that for whatever reason doesn't seem right. That's how I felt a first glance into this matchup. I mean Minnesota is not the same team away (11-16) from Target Field as they are 20-5 at home. The NL Central leading Cubs starting Alec (No-Hit) Mills (5-3, 3.93 ERA)who is making his his start since his historic outing against the Brewers, in his last two starts he has 15 shutout innings and just four hits allowed. With those 'numbers' and his team leading the division by 3-games he's pitching at home and he and the Cubs are underdogs to Michael Pineda (1-0, 3.57) and the Twins. I guess? Pineda is making his four start two good and last Sunday he was banged around a bit by the Indians. This time out he gets it right! Take MINNESOTA! |
09-19-20 | White Sox v. Reds -132 | 5-0 | Loss | -132 | 9 h 3 m | Show
Chicago White Sox and Cincinnati 7:07 ET Reds over White Sox- A great pitching matchup with Dallas Keuchel (6-2, 2.19 ERA) set to throw for Chicago and Trevor Bauer (4-3, 1.71 ERA) taking the hill for Cincinnati and he leads the NL in ERA and WHIP and is second in strikeouts (83), hits per nine innings allowing 32 hits in 58 innings. The White Sox with the best record in the AL has clinched a playoff for the first time since 2008 and they are already celebrating. Bauer's numbers are really off the charts but Keuchel has won four straight decisions and is always tough. While the Pale Hose are secure the Reds have moved in the final playoff spot and have plenty to play for. Take CINCINNATI! |
09-19-20 | Blue Jays v. Phillies +127 | 1-3 | Win | 127 | 8 h 50 m | Show
Toronto at Philadelphia 6:05 ET Phillies over Blue Jays- Toronto will start Hyun-Jin Ryu (4-1, 3.17 ERA) and he will be up against Philadelphia's Vince Velasquez (0-1, 6.46) who is anxious to join the rotation after coming off the IL. Toronto 9-2 as a road favorite and 10-3 as favorites overall and Blue Jays have toyed with the Phillies going 19-7 in the last 26 meetings including 12-2 in Philadelphia. After a weak start the Phillies are 11-4 in their last 15 home games and the Phillies are and 8-3 in their last 11 against left-handers but a dreadful 32-67 as underdogs. Still, this one counts as the season's end draws near...take PHILLIES! |
09-18-20 | White Sox v. Reds -113 | Top | 1-7 | Win | 100 | 8 h 16 m | Show |
Chicago White Sox at Cincinnati 7:10 ET Reds over White Sox- It has been over 10 years (2008) since the White Sox made the MLB playoffs but with the expanded forum and the best record in the American league they are destined to make the playoffs this season. Cincinnati has started to play better (if not too late) and are now 1-game under .500. Chicago will give rookie Jonathan Stiever (0-0, 2.45 ERA) will get his second career start while the Reds who has won four straight will send Tejay Antone (0-2, 2.76) to the mound and he has 37 strikeouts in just 29 innings while allowing just 17 hits. Take CINCINNATI! |
