Altemus’ 2008 New Mexico Bowl Picks

Evan Altemus is looking to cap off another great season of college football by helping his clients to continue to cash in with his bowl picks.  If you want a little help beating the bowl game lines this post-season then look no further than what Evan has to offer.  Here is his winner on the New Mexico Bowl as he took Colorado State:

This regular season has been very disappointing for Fresno State, ending in a fitting manner with a 61-10 blowout loss at Boise State in what was supposed to be a pseudo WAC championship match-up.  Now the Bulldogs have to play in the New Mexico Bowl, a far cry from the potential BCS game they had hoped for.  Meanwhile, Colorado State had to win their last two games in order to get bowl eligible.  The players and first year head coach Steve Fairchild are very motivated to play in this game.  Fairchild would want nothing more than to upset Fresno State and win a bowl game in his first season in what was viewed as a reconstruction job.  The Rams have a very balanced offense with quarterback Billy Farris and running back Gartrell Johnson.  In addition, while this game might seem like a mismatch favoring Fresno State, take a look at their performance this season.  The Bulldogs do have a winning record, but their wins this season were against Rutgers, Toledo, UCLA, Idaho, Utah State, New Mexico State, and San Jose State.  Only one of those teams is even in a bowl game, and Rutgers was a complete mess when they faced them.  This selection is mainly based on a team that wants this game much more than their opponent, as well as Fresno State being very over-rated the entire season.  Look for Colorado State to get the outright win as the underdog.
