12-15-18 | Cincinnati v. Mississippi State -3 | 59-70 | Win | 100 | 10 h 49 m | Show
Cincinnati at Mississippi State 8:30 ET Bulldogs (-) over Bearcats- Last Saturday I told you all that the Bearcats were the side against Xavier and 'we' had a winner, this week we flip side. Cincinnati is 9-1 and not ranked in the Top-25 while Mississippi State is 8-1 and ranked No. 17. Why has Cincinnati been overlooked in this regard? Is it simply because they aren't all that good to start with. The Bulldogs are the first ranked team for Cincy this season and the quality of their opponent might cause a bit of shock and maybe awe. These two clubs have met three times and the Bearcats won and covered in each as a favorite. This time the rolls are reversed and so is the result. Last season the Bearcats won easily 65-50 as Dogs' star Lamar Peters went 0-11 including 0-7 from 3-point range. That will not happen again! Take MISSISSIPPI STATE! |
12-15-18 | Celtics v. Pistons +2.5 | Top | 104-113 | Win | 100 | 8 h 48 m | Show |
Boston at Detroit 7:00 ET Pistons (+) over Celtics- Boston is riding a season high eight-game win streak as the enter the Motor City while the Piston have busted a valve and has lost their last six after a 4-game win streak. The Celtics have already defeated Detroit twice this season by and average of 11.5 points and the are 6-0 ATS in their last six meetings in Detroit. With all these trends the direction these two clubs are headed this is a 'bogus' line. Take DETROIT! |
12-15-18 | Gonzaga v. North Carolina -2.5 | Top | 90-103 | Win | 100 | 8 h 29 m | Show |
Chip's 'Guaranteed' NCAA 'Highest-Rated' Megabucks Gonzaga at North Carolina 7:00 ET Tar Heels (-) over Bulldogs- Gonzaga has been impressive at 9-1 with wins over Duke, Arizona Washington and Creighton while their lone loss was to Tennessee on a neutral floor. The Bulldogs loss to the Vols dropped them out of the college top spot in the nation and Kansas moved in to No. 1. North Carolina has a pair of losses to Texas and to No. 5 Michigan. One thing that happens often in college or even professional sports is after a team has their 'mojo' disrupted it takes them a game or two to regain their momentum and confidence. Two season's ago the Tar Heels got the best of Gonzaga in the Final-4 Championship game 71-65 and will do it again as Roy Williams has criticized his team's effort of late and I'm sure they will respond here. Take NORTH CAROLINA! |
12-15-18 | Arizona State v. Georgia +3.5 | 76-74 | Win | 100 | 7 h 25 m | Show
Arizona State at Georgia 6:00 ET Bulldogs (+) over Sun Devils- No. 20 Arizona State is leading scorer is freshman guard Luguentz Dort who is 6-4 215 pounds and looks like he should be playing linebacker for the Sun Devils in the Las Vegas Bowl. Dort is from Haiti and believes soccer says soccer is his first love and I would like to see him kick the ball around a bit today against a Georgia defense that only allows 38% shooting from the field. ASU has 'covered' just two of 11 road games goin 2-7-2 ATS. The Sun Devils went dark in the second half their last time out as the surrendered a 16-point lead to Nevada. Just apply a little pressure boys and you can win this one outright. Take GEORGIA! |
12-15-18 | Villanova +7.5 v. Kansas | Top | 71-74 | Win | 100 | 18 h 46 m | Show |
Chip's 'Guaranteed' NCAA BK Early-Bird Winner Villanova at Kansas 12:00 ET Wildcats (+) over Jayhawks- No. 1 Kansas will host the defending National Champion Villanova Wildcats and are look for revenge after the 95-79 beating inflicted bu the Wildcats in last year's semi in the Final-4. Villanova is off a loss to Big-5 rival Penn their first loss in the series in 25 games and in part, the Wildcats issues in that loss might be keyed to the fact that they were looking ahead to this contest. Kansas is 4-0 at home but is just 1-3 ATS but will be without center Udoka Azuibuike and that will weaken their interior. Villanova is 15-6 ATS in their last 21 games and will come to play here. Take the WILDCATS! |
12-14-18 | Thunder -115 v. Nuggets | 98-109 | Loss | -115 | 11 h 41 m | Show
Oklahoma City at Denver 10:00 ET Thunder (+) over Nuggets- How about that...this is a game being played for the Northwest Division lead as the Nuggets have a half-game lead over Oklahoma City. The Thunder who are off a loss at New Orleans are 4-0 ATS after a straight up loss but are 0-6 ATS in their last six meetings against the Nuggets and Denver is 4-0 ATS in their last four home games. But, the Nuggets are without leading scorer and Gary Harris and starting forward Paul Milsap who are out with injuries. That is probably why the Thunder are favored. Take OKLAHOMA CITY! |
12-14-18 | Raptors v. Blazers +4 | Top | 122-128 | Win | 100 | 11 h 0 m | Show |
Toronto at Portland 10:00 ET Trailblazers (+) over Raptors- Toronto leads the NBA in wins with 23 and are off a win against their nearest competitor Golden State (19 wins) 113-99 on Wednesday. Portland has dropped their last two games, 7-of-10 and after a 10-3 start is reeling as they have won just five of their last 15 games. The status of the Raptors Kawhi Leonard who has missed the past two games doesn't hurt the balance of this Toronto squad that is well balanced. Although the Raptors has swept the two-game series in each of the last three seasons they are just 3-7 ATS in the last 10 meetings in Portland. Take the TRAILBLAZERS! |
12-14-18 | Pacers +4.5 v. 76ers | 113-101 | Win | 100 | 8 h 16 m | Show
Indiana at Philadelphia 7:30 ET Pacers (+) over 76ers- The drama that clings to the 76ers can not be good as their star players Joel Embiid, Ben Simmons and Jimmy Butler are having difficulties understanding their role. Indiana on the other hand has won five straight and after an 11-game absence Victor Oladipo has returned as the Pacers trail the 76ers by just a half-game. Philadelphia is off of a 127-124 loss at Brooklyn when they sent the Nets to the foul line 43 times. Jimmy Butler is questionable once again and their chemistry has yet to jell. Add that the Pacers are 9-4 ATS in the last 13 meetings and 5-2 ATS in the last seven meetings in Philadelphia. Take INDIANA. |
12-13-18 | Lakers v. Rockets -5 | 111-126 | Win | 100 | 10 h 15 m | Show
L.A. Lakers at Houston 8:00 ET Rockets (-) over Lakers- After winning just two of their first seven games the Lakers have won 15 of their last 20 and six out of their last seven. Houston on the other hand has struggled the entire season to date and just broke a three game losing streak with a huge comeback home win over Portland after three straight road losses. The Rockets have dominated this series winning the last three and 19 of the last 25 meetings including 5-of-6 as hosts. Take HOUSTON! |
12-12-18 | LSU +3 v. Houston | 76-82 | Loss | -100 | 9 h 16 m | Show
L.S.U. At Houston 9:00 ET Tigers (+) over Cougars- No. 22 Houston is 8-0 and 15-5-2 ATS in their last 22 games overall while Louisiana State is 1-7 ATS in their last 11 road games and 2-5-1 ATS in their last eight overall. Add that the Cougars have 21 won straight home games and yet this 'price' in very inviting and that's the rub. The Tigers are part of the SEC and that conference has dominated Houston going 9-3 ATS in the last 12 meetings and the underdog is 6-2 ATS in the last eight meetings. Take L.S.U.! |
12-12-18 | Blazers +3 v. Grizzlies | Top | 83-92 | Loss | -104 | 9 h 10 m | Show |
Portland at Memphis 8:00 ET Trailblazers (+) over Grizzlies- A pair of clubs off losses with Portland dropping their last two and six straight on the road (0-6 ATS) while Memphis stumbled at Denver Monday night. The Grizzlies after a quick start have lost six of nine while the Blazers have lost seven of their last 10. Memphis will have a hampered Mike Conley who injured his hamstring against the Nuggets is expected to play but his effectiveness is to be questioned. The Memphis offense has slowed down a bit scoring less than 100 points in five of their last six games. Take PORTLAND! |
12-12-18 | Celtics v. Wizards +4 | 130-125 | Loss | -109 | 8 h 7 m | Show
Boston at Washington 7:00 ET Wizards (+) over Celtics- This will be a match-up of walking wounded as both clubs will hardly be at full strength. Boston pulled off a win in New Orleans Monday without Kylie Irving, Gordon Hayward, Al Horford, Aron Baynes and Guerschon Yabusele (his loss was crucial) with Irving and Hayward being day-to-day but the rest will once again be MIA. Washington who trailed by 26 points in their most recent loss were without John Wall (day-to-day) and Otto Porter. The Celtics have won six straight going 6-0 ATS while Washington has dropped their last two but are 4-0 ATS in their last four home games. The price seems a bit short and 'we'll' take the WIZARDS! |
12-12-18 | Bucks v. Pacers +2.5 | 97-113 | Win | 100 | 8 h 4 m | Show
Milwaukee at Indiana 7:00 ET Pacers (+) over Bucks- Indiana enters this contest off four straight wins going 3-0 ATS in their last three winning three straight at home. Milwaukee is off a pair of wins the second of which was Monday night 108-92 as they played without Giannis Anteokounmpo who had a sore neck but is expected to return tonight. The Pacers have been playing without their start Victor Oladipo who has missed 11 consecutive games in which Indiana is 7-4 straight-up but he did return to practice Tuesday. The Bucks posted a 118-101 home win over the Pacers in mid-October and I expect as reversal here. Take INDIANA! |
12-11-18 | Colorado v. New Mexico +5 | Top | 78-75 | Win | 100 | 9 h 27 m | Show |
Colorado at New Mexico 9:00 ET Lobos (+) over Buffaloes- The trends the surround this contest is urging this to be a 'no-play' and you will see what I mean as the Lobos are 0-7-1 ATS in their last eight against the Pac-12 and Colorado is 19-41-1 ATS in their last 61 games on the road. The Buffaloes are 5-0 SU and 4-1 ATS in their last five and while New Mexico has dropped their last two getting blown out by St. Mary's and New Mexico State going 1-4 ATS in their last five. The Buffs won (-7.5) 75-57 as hosts last year and I expect the most solid reason I can give is that turn-about-is-fair-pay. Nah, Lobos light-up 3-pointers tonight...take NEW MEXICO! |
12-11-18 | Blazers v. Rockets -6.5 | Top | 103-111 | Win | 100 | 9 h 50 m | Show |
Portland at Houston 8:00 ET Rockets (+) over Trailblazers- The Houston Rockets have lost seven of their last nine games and have 14 losses this season which is just three shy of all the losses they accumulated last season. The issue with the Rockets is no longer the presence of Carmelo Anthony but their lack of defense (29th) and meager contribution by the bench which is dead last (28.2) in NBA scoring. Portland opened the year with a 104-85 in a game they never trailed. Portland has won their last two after losing six of their previous seven and but have lost seven of the last nine meetings including the win this season. The Trailblazers have struggled on the road trail losing their last four and are just 4-8 ATS allowing 115.2 points per contest. It is time for the Rockets to take off and blast Portland here. Take HOUSTON! |
12-10-18 | Jazz +5.5 v. Thunder | 113-122 | Loss | -110 | 8 h 7 m | Show
Chip's 'Guaranteed' NBA Money Game Best Bet Utah at Oklahoma City 8:00 ET Jazz (+) over Thunder- Both clubs are off losses as Oklahoma City lost at Chicago 114-112 Friday their third straight road game and the Jazz were trashed at San Antonio last night 110-97 ending a two-game win streak. Despite the defeat Utah is 9-8 on the road and actually allows less points on the road than at home while the Thunder are 9-3 SU and 7-5 ATS at home. Utah has struggled at OKC going 4-12-1 ATS in their last 17 trips. I don't like that stat but the Jazz are in position to win here. Take UTAH! |
12-10-18 | Kings v. Bulls +3 | Top | 108-89 | Loss | -115 | 9 h 39 m | Show |
Chip's 'Guaranteed' NBA Vegas Hotline Best Bet Sacramento at Chicago 8:00 ET Bulls (+) over Kings- This 'price' seems a bit too inviting as the Kings enter the Windy City favored by less than a field goal against a team that has on only six of 27 games and are off their worst loss in franchise history 133-77 to Boston. Sacramento has made huge strides this season with the addition of Marvin Bagley III to work with center Willie Cauley-Stein and shooting guard Buddy Hield. The Kings who are playing their fourth straight road game are 12-3-1 ATS in their last 16 meetings at Chicago. But, the Bulls had a closed door players only meetings after they were booed off the floor in during their 56 point loss. Bulls gore the Kings here. Take CHICAGO! |
12-10-18 | Pistons +8.5 v. 76ers | 102-116 | Loss | -109 | 7 h 12 m | Show
Chip's 'Guaranteed' NBA Power Play Best Bet Detroit at Philadelphia 7:00 ET Pistons (+) over 76ers- This is the fourth meeting of the season already between these two with the 76ers up 2-1 with the Pistons win coming in the first meeting 133-132 over time. After five straight wins Detroit has now lost four in-a-row including Sunday's 116-108 to New Orleans while Philadelphia has won five of six as well as six of the last seven meetings. Tonight Detroit will have Blake Griffin and Andre Drummond matching up against Jimmy Butler and Joel Embiid. This time out the Pistons show up in force. Take the PISTONS! |
12-09-18 | Hornets v. Knicks +6 | 119-107 | Loss | -102 | 9 h 26 m | Show
Charlotte at New York 7:30 ET Knicks (+) over Hornets- New York has now lost their last three and five of their last six after Brooklyn took them apart at Madison Square garden last night 112-104. Charlotte meanwhile is coming off a Friday win against Denver snapping a 3-game losing streak but have struggled on the road going 3-8 straight-up and they are favored here. Even tho the home team has won the last seven meetings the Hornets are 0-4 ATS in their last four meetings in New York and 1-6 ATS in the last seven meetings overall. Take the KNICKS! |
12-09-18 | Tennessee +3.5 v. Gonzaga | Top | 76-73 | Win | 100 | 5 h 9 m | Show |
Chip's 'Guaranteed' NCAA Megabucks Winner Tennessee vs. Gonzaga 3:00 ET Volunteers (+) over Bulldogs- Top ranked and undefeated Gonzaga seeks their tenth straight win to open the season are a fine 7-2 ATS. At 6-1 Tennessee is ranked No. 7 and return 11 of 13 players and have already had one big game experience when they surrendered a nine-point second half lead to Kansas. This game is at a neutral site in Phoenix and the Volunteers are 1-1 on neutral sites while Gonzaga is 3-0 SU and 2-1 ATS. Tennessee is 4-4 straight-up when playing the No. 1 ranked team in the national. Take TENNESSEE! |
12-09-18 | Arizona v. Alabama -120 | 73-76 | Win | 100 | 3 h 19 m | Show
Chip's 'Guaranteed' NCAA Money Game Winner Arizona at Alabama 1:00 ET Crimson Tide (+) over Wildcats- Arizona enters this contest riding a 3-game winning streak while Alabama has dropped their last two including a 83-80 loss to Georgia State after blowing a 21-point second half lead. The Wildcats have five new starters this season and they have meshed well so early in the season. Trends clash here as Arizona is 702 ATS in their last nine versus the SEC while Alabama is 8-0 ATS in their last eight against the Pac-12. Take ALABAMA! |
12-08-18 | Wolves +2.5 v. Blazers | Top | 105-113 | Loss | -110 | 11 h 51 m | Show |
Minnesota at Portland 10:00 ET Timberwolves (+) over Trailblazers- Portland's quick start has all but been wiped out as they lost six of seven before trouncing the Suns 108-86 as a 12.5-point favorite at the Moda Center. Minnesota on the other hand after slow start and the trade of Jimmy Butler has changed their fortunes as they have won their last two and six of seven. These two have played twice already each holding serve on their home court with the Blazers winning by 30-points 111-81 as a 5.5-point favorite on Nov. 4. Tonight, they opened -1.5 and that is a huge difference. Consider this Minnesota is 6-19-1 ATS in the last 26 meetings in Portland and are 13-37-1 ATS in the last 51 meetings. Yet, tonight, they opened at 1.5-points. The Trailblazers have been in a funk and beating Phoenix at home is hardly anything that will fix these problems. This one 'stinks'...take TIMBERWOLVES! |
12-08-18 | Lakers +2 v. Grizzlies | 111-88 | Win | 100 | 9 h 41 m | Show
L.A. Lakers at Memphis 8:00 ET Lakers (+) over Grizzlies- 'We' played against LA with out Megabucks winner last night as they bowed to San Antonio 133-120 blowing a 15-point lead in the process. Memphis has won 3-of-4 including their 107-103 win at New Orleans last night. The Grizzlies have completely turned things around from last season but this season they are still just 1-6 ATS in the second of back-to-back games. Los Angeles is playing much better basketball after a shaky start and they had won four straight before last night's collapse. Tonight, led by 'King James' the Lakers close the deal. Take LOS ANGELES! |
12-08-18 | Nets +2.5 v. Knicks | 112-104 | Win | 100 | 8 h 15 m | Show
Brooklyn at New York 7:30 ET Nets (+) over Knicks- Brooklyn had lost seven in a row most results coming down to the final buzzer and last night they managed to win a close one beating Toronto 106-105 while the Knicks are off a Thursday loss to Boston 128-100. Although these two have similar records it appears that it is the nets that are up and coming while New York just flounders year after year. Brooklyn is 7-6 ATS in the road while the Knicks are 4-7 straight-up. Brooklyn has struggled at Madison Square Garden going 1-7 ATS in their last eight subway rides into Manhattan. Still, the Nets play better defense and are hungrier. Take BROOKLYN! |
12-08-18 | Georgetown v. Syracuse -10.5 | 71-72 | Loss | -108 | 5 h 19 m | Show
Georgetown at Syracuse 3:30 ET Orange (-) over Hoyas- Both of these former Big East rivals enter this fray on four game win streaks with the Hoyas off of a win 88-78 over Liberty while Syracuse is off of a pair wins over Northeastern and Ohio State. Georgetown is up to their old tricks as they are 7-1 SU in their last eight but a horrid 2-11 ATS in their last 13 games overall. When they win the scrap bye and when they lose they get crushed. Patrick Ewing will be out foxed by Jim Boeheim and the Orange run away with this one. Take SYRACUSE! |
12-08-18 | Louisville v. Indiana -4.5 | Top | 67-68 | Loss | -110 | 4 h 28 m | Show |
Chip's 'Guaranteed' NCAA Megabucks Winner Louisville at Indiana 2:30 ET Hoosiers (-) Cardinals- Louisville has won their last three and are 4-0 ATS in their last four as they are considered the visitor although this game is at Madison Square Garden and Indiana is considered the home team. The Hoosiers have won four of their last five including their last two but had lost five straight ATS until their 64-62 win as a 3-point dog at Penn State. That makes a pair of two-point wins back-to-back and that strengthens character. The Cardinals have won three straight after a pair of losses to Tennessee and Marquette the last one a 86-41 beatdown of Central Arkansas, hardly a good workout. Louisville has been favored the last four meetings and the last time the Hoosiers were favored in the they won by 15 points. Take INDIANA! |
12-08-18 | Xavier v. Cincinnati -7 | 47-62 | Win | 100 | 4 h 7 m | Show
Xavier at Cincinnati 2:00 ET Bearcats (-) over Musketeers- This one is just too much for me. Is there something wrong with Xavier that I am not aware of, or are the Bearcats that good. Ah there is something wrong with the Musketeers as they will be without one starter because of a concussion and the other is questionable. Let me start by saying that it doesn't matter the sport that when I support the U. of Cincinnati I get hosed one way or another and its virtually the opposite when I support Xavier I'm more often a winner. Enough of that...these two are bitter rivals as my main 'Progressive' man tells me (a Musketeer pugilist) that Xavier is just not up to snuff this year. This is I mean about the Bearcats they are 6-20 ATS against the Big East and often I have expected them to rise to the occasion only to fall short. So, why today, why shOuld the win here? I coulD say the home team is 8-1 ATS in the last nine meetings and the favorite is 8-2 ATS, but what I see is that Xavier have been the dominate favorite but when the Bearcats are favored by seven or more they have won by 20 and 15 points. Cincinnati on an 8-game run goes to nine! Take CINCINNATI! |
12-07-18 | Lakers v. Spurs | 120-133 | Win | 100 | 10 h 12 m | Show
L.A. Lakers at San Antonio 8:30 ET Spurs over Lakers- This game to me will say a lot about the Spurs! 'We' have don't quite well playing against them to date but at some time they will be in a spot where they need it and 'we' need it and tonight is one of those night. To start with this is the second of back-to-back meetings, the Lakers won in Los Angeles 121-113 Wednesday as LeBron James took over in the final quarter scoring 14 straight points and 42 overall. San Antonio has lost four of five with three of the losses by 30-points or more. Oddly enough this in the fourth and final meeting of the of the season with the Spurs winning the first two. But, as I mentioned earlier this is a pivotal game for San Antonio to gather the troops LaMarcus Aldridge, Rudy Gay and dear I say, DeMar (The Hoax) DeRozan (God, I hate that guy!) But, I more than like the Spurs to respond as professionals and win here. If you have to lay -120 or anything close on the 'money line,' I would. Take SAN ANTONIO! |
12-07-18 | Pacers v. Magic -130 | 112-90 | Loss | -130 | 9 h 48 m | Show
Denver at Charlotte 7:00 ET Hornets (+) over Nuggets- Okay here we go wit the magic number 10. Any of you remember my friend Jerry who gave up the unranked favored over ranked (9-3 ATS on the NCAA FT season), well his thing in the NBA is when streak clash and they total 10 when adding both together to pay 'against the streaks. So, here we have the Nuggets winners of seven straight coming to play Charlotte who have lost three straight. I could mention the Hornets are 8-5 SU at home where they seen to get 'up' for Denver as the are 4-1 ATS in the last five and Charlotte is 5-1 ATS against teams with winning records about .600. This one should come down to the final buzzer. Take CHARLOTTE! |
12-07-18 | Nuggets v. Hornets +1.5 | 107-113 | Win | 100 | 8 h 57 m | Show
Denver at Charlotte 7:00 ET Hornets (+) over Nuggets- Okay here we go wit the magic number 10. |
12-07-18 | 76ers v. Pistons +3.5 | Top | 117-111 | Loss | -106 | 9 h 57 m | Show |
Philadelphia at Detroit 7:00 ET Pistons (+) over 76ers- With the acquisition of Jimmy Butler teams are beginning to put a little more focus on Philadelphia when they get them in their sites. But, the 76ers are too inexperienced to handle that kind of everyday pressure. Teams that can have targets on their backs need to be experienced with strong leadership that have winning team are qualities. It's too early for Philly to handle that load especially on the road where they still need to mature as a team. They are great at home 13-1, but 4-8 SU and 3-9 ATS on the road including 1-6 ATS in their last seven trips to Detroit. The Piston are 9-4 SY at home and have lost their last two. Embiid and Butler matched against Griffin and Drummond has the making of a great encounter if they give to the game what they should (NBA players take too many games off and some of them they are playing in). I think the natural response is to jump on the Sixers off their last at Toronto, but this is the first of back-to-back meetings (Monday at Philly) and I expect the home team to prevail here. Take DETROIT! |
12-06-18 | Rockets +2 v. Jazz | 91-118 | Loss | -105 | 12 h 15 m | Show
Houston at Utah 10:30 ET Rockets (+) over Jazz- The usual defensive minded Jazz scored 139 points on Tuesday against the Spurs setting a franchise record with 20 3-pointers. Houston is off of their 103-91 loss at Minnesota Monday where they scored just 29 points in the second half including just nine points in the final quarter. Part of the Rockets problem was the effort and production of Chris (The Hoax) Paul who was 1-of-8 shooting. Paul is such an important part of the Rockets overall team play (if they have any at all) and I expect him to 'rebound' here (Excuse the pun). Having played the majority of their games on the road the Jazz are just 3-6 SU at home and are 0-4 ATS in than last four meetings in Utah with the Rockets were going 7-3 ATS in the last 10 meetings. Take HOUSTON! |
12-06-18 | Maryland v. Purdue -8 | Top | 60-62 | Loss | -105 | 8 h 14 m | Show |
Maryland at Purdue 7:00 ET Boilermakers (-) over Terrapins- There are some conflicting 'numbers' here that could bring confusion when making an analysis of this matchup. Starting with the Boilermakers who have lost their last two and are just 7-18-2 ATS in their last 27 games in the Big Ten and are only 4-11 ATS in their last 15 home games. No. 23 Maryland is 7-1 straight up this season but just 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games overall. I believe this 'price' is a bit high as the oddsmakers are aware that Purdue have won four straight in this series. Take PURDUE! |
12-05-18 | Temple v. Villanova -8 | Top | 59-69 | Win | 100 | 8 h 4 m | Show |
Temple at Villanova 8:30 ET Wildcats (-) over Owls- Villanova the defending National Champs are off to a sluggish start and have looked abominable at times including an embarrassing 73-46 loss to Michigan and an another embarrassing overtime loss to Furman. Since that loss the Wildcats have reeled off four straight road wins and now return home to host Big-5 rival Temple where they are 15-5 ATS in their last 20 games. The Wildcats have owned the Big-5 winning 23 straight including Saturday's 85-78 win against LaSalle. Temple enters this fray winners of their last three including a victories over Missouri and California but are in over their heads here. Take VILLANOVA! |
12-05-18 | Hornets +5 v. Wolves | 104-121 | Loss | -105 | 9 h 50 m | Show
Charlotte at Minnesota 8:00 ET Hornets (+) over Timberwolves- So, like up see how Minnesota has far4ed since jettisoned Jimmy Butler to Philadelphia, well, they have won five of their last six and are finally at .500. The T'wolves have been outstanding at home going 14-0 SU and 9-5 ATS while the Hornets who have a losing straight-up record on the road they are 6-4 ATS. These two have split the series in each of the last two seasons. For some unexplained reason Charlotte has managed to win seven time in the last nine trips to Minnesota. Take the HORNETS! |

12-05-18 | 76ers +6.5 v. Raptors | 102-113 | Loss | -105 | 9 h 44 m | Show
Philadelphia at Toronto 8:00 ET 76ers (+) over Raptors- This is one game that would like to see in person. Although Philadelphia has lost 12 straight times to the Raptors and are 1-6 ATS in their last seven trips to Toronto. But, both clubs have gone through major changes as Jimmy Butler has joined the 76ers and Kawhi Leonard has replaced DeMar DeRozan for Toronto. This has made both teams better but Philly also has Joel Embiid and has eliminated a drag on their play as Markelle Fultz has finally been put to pasture. Although, Toronto is off a loss at home (1-5 ATS last six as hosts) and this game should come down to the final buzzer. Take 76ERS! |
12-05-18 | Nuggets v. Magic +5.5 | Top | 124-118 | Loss | -115 | 8 h 5 m | Show |
Denver at Orlando 7:00 ET Magic (+) over Nuggets- Both of these clubs are on winning streaks as Orlando has won their last two and the Nuggets are on a season high six game ride with the last win at Toronto Monday night. But, the Denver win may have been costly as leading scorer Gary Harris is scheduled for an MRI today and will not play. The Nuggets pounded the Magic 112-87 in Denver November 23 and should suffer a bit of a letdown after defeating the Raptors at Toronto on Monday. The Magic are 10-6 straight-up in their last 16 and are looking forward to start winning at home. Take ORLANDO! |
12-05-18 | Ohio State v. Illinois +6 | 77-67 | Loss | -115 | 6 h 13 m | Show
Ohio State vs Illinois 7:00 ET Iliini (+) over Buckeyes- No. 16 Ohio State are coming off of a five game home stand and have yet to pay a true road games this season and this game is being played at the United Center in Chicago. Illinois who is just 2-6 overall are 0-3 at home going 1-2 ATS and this is considered a home game. The Buckeyes may be without Luther Muhammed who dislocated his shoulder and they are scrambling without him trying numerous combinations. The Illini will use pressure defense against the power State lineup trying to cause some havoc. Take ILLINOIS! |
12-04-18 | Michigan v. Northwestern +6.5 | Top | 62-60 | Win | 100 | 10 h 48 m | Show |
Michigan at Northwestern 9:00 ET Wildcats (+) over Wolverines- Sometimes I just wonder what the hell is going on! Here is Michigan (8-0) having played in the Final-Four Championship Game and have destroyed opponents by an average of 21 points and yet they are only ranked No. 5. Northwestern has played well at 6-2 and are off a 68-66 loss at Indiana while the Wolverines are off of three home games the last against Purdue. The Wildcats are 4-0 at home and both clubs play tough defense and I expect a tight contest. Take NORTHWESTERN! |
12-04-18 | Magic +2.5 v. Heat | Top | 105-90 | Win | 100 | 9 h 9 m | Show |
Chip's 'Guaranteed' NBA 'Highest-Rated' Money Game Orlando at Miami 7:35 ET Magic (+) over Heat- This Miami team inconsistency is like the part of Joe Pesci spoke of in Oliver Stone's film, an enigma and a riddle all mixed into to one and there is no answer. 'We' have been very fortunate on-and-against the Heat both home and away so I always feel confident what having a side in their games. This is the final stop for the Magic on a season high six game road trip and a win here would even the trip 3-3. Miami has won the last two at home following a six game home losing streak Orlando is 6-2 ATS in the last eight meetings and are on a 4-0 ATS run in their last four games while Miami is 1-6 ATS at home against teams with losing records. Magic are 8-3 ATS on the road while Miami is now 5-8 ATS as hosts. Take ORLANDO! |
12-03-18 | Rockets v. Wolves +2 | 91-103 | Win | 100 | 9 h 32 m | Show
Chip's 'Guaranteed' NBA Power Play Best Bet Houston at Minnesota 8:00 ET Timberwolves (+) over Rockets- Houston had lost four strait before they posted a pair of wins against the Bulls and Spurs and now 11-11 on the season. Meanwhile. The Timberwolves just had their four-game win streak stopped by Boston on Saturday and have fallen to 11-12. This is the first meeting since the Rockets took Minnesota down 4-1 in the NBA Playoffs last April and both clubs have gone through multiple changes as the T'wolves are 9-4 straight-up at home while Houston is 5-7 ATS on the road. Take MINNESOTA! |
12-03-18 | Clippers +2.5 v. Pelicans | Top | 129-126 | Win | 100 | 8 h 25 m | Show |
Chip's 'Guaranteed' NBA 'Highest-Rated' Money Game L.A. Clippers at New Orleans 8:00 ET Clippers (+) over Pelicans- The last time these two played each other in late October in New Orleans the Pelicans won their third straight in this series as 5.5 point favorites. Everyone knows just what an impact Anthony Davis has on the game when on the floor scoring points, blocking shots and grabbing rebounds. Tonight he will be facing a formidable foe in the Clippers who had won nine of ten before last night's loss at Dallas but LA still leads the Western Conference with 15 wins. The Pelicans have won the last three meetings but the 'numbers' were much different. Something has happened since their last encounter in the Crescent City as the Pels are now favorites by less than a long field goal attempt. This 'price' tells me the Clippers have gained ground or that New Orleans is slipping. Either way...take LA. CLIPPERS! |
12-03-18 | Thunder v. Pistons +2 | 110-83 | Loss | -103 | 8 h 37 m | Show
Chip's 'Guaranteed' NBA Vegas Hotline Best Bet Oklahoma City at Detroit 7:00 ET Pistons (+) over Thunder- Under the reigning NBA Coach of the Year Dwane Casey the Detroit Pistons are a surprising 13-7 and are 9-3 straight-up at home and are 7-1 ATS in their last eight games. After starting 0-4 Oklahoma City has gone 14-3 but play five of their next six on the road. With Russell Westbrook leading the way the Thunder shoots 31.5% from 3-point range and ranks last in the NBA. Right now the Pistons rank 29th in overall field goal percentage but are one of the strongest rebounding team in the league. Take DETROIT! |
12-02-18 | Clippers v. Mavs +2.5 | Top | 110-114 | Win | 100 | 9 h 34 m | Show |
L.A. Clippers at Dallas 7:00 ET Mavericks (+) over Clippers- My, my, my just look at those Clippers, they are the 'best' in the West with their 15-6 record and have won nine of 10 including their last four both SU and ATS. Dallas at 10-10 is in a better spot then most expected at this time with rookie Luke Doncic and veteran center DeAndre Jordan who is facing his ex-teammates for the first time. The Mavericks who are 6-0 ATS in their last six home games and are 14-2 ATS following a loss by 10-points or more and they are 4-1-1 ATS in the last six meetings. Take DALLAS! |
12-01-18 | Nets +7 v. Wizards | 88-102 | Loss | -105 | 8 h 54 m | Show
Brooklyn at Washington 7:00 ET Nets (+) over Wizards- Brooklyn lost their fifth straight game last night as the blew a 20-point second half lead going down 131-125 in double-overtime. Washington who just got better with the injury sidelining Dwight Howard have lost their last two and are 1-8 ATS when paying teams with losing records. Brooklyn on the other hand is 0-6 ATS on the second of back-to back contests and are just 4-12 ATS in their last 16 meetings in Washington although the Nets are 4-0 ATS in the last four meetings. It's bounce-back time for the Nets...take BROOKLYN! |
12-01-18 | Warriors v. Pistons +5 | Top | 102-111 | Win | 100 | 8 h 2 m | Show |
Chip's 'Guaranteed' NBA 'Highest-Rated' Money Game Golden State at Detroit 7:00 ET Pistons (+) over Warriors- In 11 games without point guard Stephen Curry the Warriors have gone 5-6 but will see the return of the games best pure shooter in the league. Kevin Durant tried to pick up the scoring slack 51 points against the Raptors Thursday and has had 40 or more points in three straight games. The trouble is teams with high scorers don't win and Golden State has struggled with out team balance. Although the Warriors have won 12 of their last 14 meetings they hare just 1-5 ATS in the last five meetings. Detroit is playing well and is 6-1 ATS in their last seven. Take the PISTONS! |
12-01-18 | Bucks v. Knicks +8.5 | 134-136 | Win | 100 | 6 h 46 m | Show
Chip's 'Guaranteed' NBA Vegas Hotline Best Bet Milwaukee at New York 5:00 ET Knicks (+) over Bucks- New York has some collection of youth on this hapless squad as they can't shoot and don't play defense. The Knicks were actually on the three-game win streak and then the bottom fell out as they have surrendered 117 and 115 points in their last games both road losses. After a quick start to the season when Giannis Antekounmpo was dominating both ends of the floor the Bucks are just 6-6 in their last 12 games. Although the Knicks are just 7-16 straight-up they are 5-4 ATS at home whereas Milwaukee is just 3-5 ATS on the road. In a surprise...take NEW YORK! |
11-30-18 | Oklahoma State v. Minnesota -4 | Top | 76-83 | Win | 100 | 8 h 57 m | Show |
Oklahoma State at Minnesota 10:00 Cowboys (+) over Golden Gophers- Minnesota opened the season 5-0 including wins over Utah, Washington and Texas A&M but when it can to their ACC matchup they fell 68-56 to Boston College last time out. Playing out of conference or just about anywhere for the Gophers has been ugly. They are 2-16 ATS against the Big-12 and just 8-21 ATS in their last 29 overall. Oklahoma State on the other hand defeated Memphis and No. 21 LSU last time while losing to NCAA champ Villanova last Friday. The Cowboys are good enough to win here. Take OKLAHOMA STATE! |
11-30-18 | Magic v. Suns +1.5 | 99-85 | Loss | -110 | 10 h 39 m | Show
Chip's 'Guaranteed' NBA Vegas Hotline Best Bet Orlando at Phoenix 9:00 ET Suns (+) over Magic- After taking center Deandre Ayton No. 1 in the NBA draft many expected improvement in the Suns but they are 4-17 their worst start in franchise history. Orlando has lost four of five so far on a six-game road trip but are 4-0 ATS in their last four trips to Phoenix. Look for Ayton who had a career low four points last time out to play with more determination tonight. Having dropped their last three the Suns see an opportunity to post a win here. Take PHOENIX! |
11-30-18 | Pelicans v. Heat +4 | 101-106 | Win | 100 | 9 h 43 m | Show
Chip's 'Guaranteed' NBA Power Play Best Bet New Orleans at Miami 8:00 ET Heat (+) over Pelicans- Miami who made the playoffs last season is just 7-13 on the year and have lost six straight at home and their last two overall. New Orleans who got off to a quick start this season is now 11-11 and have struggled on the road going 2-9 straight-up. The Heat have struggled without Goran Dragic who has missed eight of their last 13 games but have a healthy Hassan Whiteside who can keep Anthony Davis under control. Take MIAMI! |
11-30-18 | Jazz +1.5 v. Hornets | Top | 119-111 | Win | 100 | 8 h 54 m | Show |
Utah at Charlotte 7:00 ET Jazz (+) over Hornets- So the storyline here is that Utah has acquired Kyle Kover from Cleveland and the 37 year old believe it or not was one of the most productive player on the Cavaliers. Utah is off to a slow start (10-12) but are 8-6 straight-up on the road. Charlotte has been good to 'us' and their backers this season posting a 14-7 ATS record including 8-8 ATS at home. A a matter of fact the Hornets have defeated Utah four straight time at home both SU and ATS with the Jazz last winning in Dec. of 2013. After a team meeting the Utah says that they are 'locked-in' as team communication has improved. Take UTAH! |
11-29-18 | Warriors v. Raptors -9 | Top | 128-131 | Loss | -105 | 9 h 15 m | Show |
Golden State at Toronto 8:00 ET Raptors (-) over Warriors- Nine points...That's right the Warriors opened a 9-point underdog to the Raptors and both Stephen Curry and Draymond Green are expected back soon possibly tonight. Golden State has been without Curry for 10 games and are 5-5 but have won their last three while Toronto is on a six-game winning streak. The Warriors are just 4-5 on the road and an even worse 2-7 ATS but have won the last eight in the series and yet the Raptors are a huge favorite here as the Warriors just don't have the same team chemistry. Take TORONTO! |
11-29-18 | Alabama v. UCF -5.5 | Top | 64-70 | Win | 100 | 9 h 44 m | Show |
Alabama at Central Florida 7:00 ET Panthers (-) over Crimson Tide- Central Florida has waited for this matchup for the past two years and amazingly the Panthers are favored, unfortunately this is basketball and not football. Both clubs are 5-1 but that's where the similarity ends. The Tide are 1-5 ATS while C. Florida is 5-1 ATS. UCF lost their only game 80-79 to FAU while Alabama lost by 16 to Northeastern (not exactly a powerhouse). Could any of us imagine that the Panthers would favored over the Crimson but they have a weapon 'Bama can't handle, that is 7-6 Tacko Fall who has become a force in the middle. Take CENTRAL FLORIDA! |
11-28-18 | Virginia v. Maryland +4 | Top | 76-71 | Loss | -105 | 8 h 24 m | Show |
Virginia at Maryland 7:30 ET Terrapins (+) over Cavaliers- A pair of ranked and unbeaten (6-0) clubs will totally different styles will battle it out in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge at College Park, Maryland as the Terrapins host Virginia. The No. 4 ranked Cavaliers are known for defense under Tony Bennett and are at it again this season allowing just 49.3 points per contest. The Cavs off their 53-46 win over Big Ten rival Wisconsin in the Battle of the Bahamas Championship game and are 7-1 in the last eight meetings. This rivalry goes back to 1912 and Maryland has a huge 107-75 series lead. The Terrapins average 84.8 points per game and have a major advantage with the home floor. Take MARYLAND! |
11-28-18 | Hawks v. Hornets -12 | 94-108 | Win | 100 | 7 h 2 m | Show
Atlanta at Charlotte 7:00 ET Hornets (-) over Hawks- Atlanta ended a 10-game win streak with a home win over the Hornets on Sunday and defeated Miami 115-113 last night. This is the third meeting already this season between these two with each wining at home. Charlotte has won the past six home games against the Hawks and are 7-3 both SU and ATS at home. With the return of Michael Kidd-Gilchrist the Hornets bounced back with a 110-107 win over Milwaukee. Atlanta is 1-7-1 ATS in their last nine trips to Charlotte...take the HORNETS! |
11-27-18 | Lakers +4 v. Nuggets | 85-117 | Loss | -110 | 11 h 54 m | Show
L.A. Lakers at Denver 8:00 ET Lakers (+) over Nuggets- Denver had a bad stretch where they lost six of seven but have reeled off three wins and covers in the last six days while Los Angeles is off a home loss to Orlando on Sunday. The Lakers have won seven of their last nine since Nov. 7 with both losses to the Magic. Even though LA is 0-4 in the last four meetings that was in the pre-LeBron era and 'we' could counter that with the Lakers are 4-0 ATS after a ATS loss. LA is a respectable 5-4 SU on the road and with James running the show after a loss...it's the LAKERS! |
11-27-18 | Raptors v. Grizzlies +5 | Top | 122-114 | Loss | -107 | 10 h 1 m | Show |
Toronto at Memphis 8:00 ET Grizzlies (+) over Raptors- Toronto appears to have righted the ship winning their last five after dropping the previous three. Meanwhile, the hometown Grizzlies have lost their last two falling at the Clippers in overtime and then returning home and getting ambushed by New York who has won a season high three straight. The Raptors swept the two-game series last year and are 4-0 ATS in the last four meetings. But, there's always a but, this is a much different Memphis club as they are NBA leaders in defense and had 19 blocked shots against the Knicks and former coach David Fizdale. These bears will have bite tonight...take the GRIZZLIES! |
11-27-18 | Michigan State v. Louisville +5.5 | Top | 78-82 | Win | 100 | 8 h 13 m | Show |
Michigan State at Louisville 7:30 ET Cardinals (+) over Spartans- After dropping their opening game to Kansas 92-87 Tom Izzo has his No. 8 Spartans riding a five-game winning streak including the title in the Las Vegas Invitational defeating UCLA and Texas. Louisville opened with three wins but have dropped their last two to Tennessee and Marquette on the road and return home (3-0) to host Michigan State. A pair of small trends that back the Cardinals says that MSU is 3-8-1 ATS in their last 12 true road games and Louisville is 8-3-1 ATS in their last 12 versus the Big Ten. Take LOUISVILLE! |
11-27-18 | Knicks +7.5 v. Pistons | 108-115 | Win | 100 | 8 h 30 m | Show
N.Y. Knicks at Detroit 7:00 ET Knicks (+) over Pistons- New York has put together their longest win streak of the season at three after a six game losing streak as their youth movement seems to be panning out. The Knicks are now 7-14 on the season but are 6-5-1 ATS in their 12 road games. Enes Kanter at 26 is the oldest player on the roster and is looking for more minutes as he posted his third straight double-double with 21 points and 26 rebounds against the Grizzlies on Sunday. Detroit won all three meetings last season but the Knicks are 4-0 ATS in the last four and are playing with confidence. Take NEW YORK! |
11-27-18 | Virginia Tech v. Penn State +3.5 | Top | 62-63 | Win | 100 | 8 h 36 m | Show |
Virginia Tech at Penn State 7:00 ET Nittany Lions (+) over Hokies- No. 12 Virginia Tech enters Bryce Jordan Center 5-0 with a perfect 4-0 ATS record. Penn State at 3-2 has been unimpressive but are 2-0 at home and are 16-7 ATS in their last 23 games. The Hokies are 3-0 ATS away from home this season but other then Purdue have had a weak schedule. The Nittany Lions are returning home after three straight on the road including their last performance against Bradley where they had their worst shooting night 28.8% in three years. Look for State to bounce back here. Take the NITTANY LIONS! |
11-26-18 | Pacers v. Jazz -5.5 | 121-88 | Loss | -108 | 9 h 57 m | Show
Chip's 'Guaranteed' NBA 'Hotline' Best Bet Indiana at Utah 9:00 ET Jazz (+) over Pacers- The Jazz return home after playing seven of their last eight on the road losing five of six before a win last night at Sacramento. One of those losses was at Indiana where the Pacers took a 121-94 victory over the Jazz. Now, it is the Pacers that are embarking on a four-game road trip starting in Salt Lake City where they are 1-5 ATS in this situation. They make be without Victor Oladipo who has missed the last three (1-2) and Domantas Sabonis is questionable. Utah is just 2-5 SU at home and look for that to change in a positive way tonight. Take the JAZZ! |
11-26-18 | Spurs v. Bulls +6 | 108-107 | Win | 100 | 8 h 1 m | Show
San Antonio at Chicago 8:00 ET Bulls (+) over Spurs- When teams get this bad (Chicago) I usually try and stay away from getting involved one way or another either on or against. But, the points are the equalizer and San Antonio is just not the same clubs they have been in the recent past. The Spurs are 9-10 straight-up and 3-7 SU on the road and yet favored here against the Bulls who are 6-5 ATS as hosts. Chicago has dropped 1-7 ATS in their last eight but San Antonio is 0-4 ATS in their last four trips to the 'Windy City.' Take the BULLS! |
11-26-18 | Rockets v. Wizards +4 | Top | 131-135 | Win | 100 | 7 h 10 m | Show |
Houston at Washington 7:00 ET Wizards (+) over Rockets- The Wizards were off to a terrible start but have managed to win five of their last eight games and how host the over-rated Rockets. It took Houston 10 games to realize that Carmelo Anthony was more of a liability than an assets but they are still having their own issues and are 7-1 ATS overall. Each team won on their home curt as they split a pair of decisions last season. Dwight Howard is day-to-day and has missed the Wizards' last three games...it won't matter. Take WASHINGTON! |
11-25-18 | Clippers +4 v. Blazers | 104-100 | Win | 100 | 11 h 59 m | Show
L.A. Clippers at Portland 9:00 ET Clippers (+) over Trailblazers- Portland just finish a six-game road trip where they staggered at the end getting blown out in their last two outings losing 143-100 and 125-97 to the Bucks and Warriors. These two met right here two weeks ago as the Trailblazers posted a 116-105 win. As they have won the last four in the series going 4-0 ATS. Now, it is the Clippers turn to take to the road where they will play eight of their next 11 and it starts here with a win. Take LA CLIPPERS! |
11-25-18 | Jazz -2.5 v. Kings | 133-112 | Win | 100 | 7 h 18 m | Show
Utah at Sacramento 8:00 ET Jazz (+) over Kings- Gosh is this ugly to me or what and maybe it is personal. The Utah Jazz will could very well be without leading scorer Donavan Mitchell as they are in the mist of a 3-game losing streak. The thing that makes it personal is that 'we' have been riding the Kings and winning while I've had the Jazz the last two times out and have gotten beat twice. Now, it comes to a spot where Sacramento is a small favorite after a heart-breaking loss at the buzzer to Golden State last night. The history here is not good for Utah who is 0-4 ATS in the last four meetings and 1-5 ATS in their last six overall. Yeah, it is ugly but there is only one side for me. Take the JAZZ! |
11-25-18 | 76ers v. Nets +3.5 | 127-125 | Win | 100 | 6 h 46 m | Show
Philadelphia at Brooklyn 6:00 ET Nets (+) over 76ers- Philadelphia has to be the most intriguing team in the NBA this season with the presence of confident and arrogant Joel Embiid and now the acquisition of Jimmy Butler and the soon departure of former No. 1 draft pick Markus Fultz. The Sixers remind me of a neighborhood bully...in their own neighborhood. They are now 10-1 at home after a loss to the Cavaliers but a meager 3-7 both SU and ATS on the road and one might think that as an advantage but Brooklyn is just 3-5 SU and 2-6 ATS at home. One of those home wins came the first week of November over these 76ers. They can do it again. Take the N-E-T-S! |
11-24-18 | Celtics v. Mavs +3 | 104-113 | Win | 100 | 9 h 11 m | Show
Boston at Dallas 8:30 ET Mavericks (+) over Celtics- Boston got just what the doctor ordered ending a three-game losing streak with a crushing win over the hapless Hawks in Atlanta. Now, they are off to Dallas where they have had great success going 4-1 ATS in the last five trips. But, there is an issue with this years version of the Celtics as the return of Gordon Hayward hasn't gone a smoothly as hoped. Boston is just 1-5 ATS when playing with no rest and the Mavericks are 5-0 ATS in their last five home games and 5-1 ATS in their last six games overall. Take DALLAS! |
11-24-18 | Kings +6 v. Warriors | 116-117 | Win | 100 | 9 h 3 m | Show
Sacramento at Golden State 8:35 ET Kings (+) over Warriors- Does this 'line' seem a bit short to you...it does to me. Granted the Kings are vastly improved and the Warriors are hurting somewhat but they are coming off a huge 125-97 win last night over Portland. The was Golden State first 'cover' in their last seven games as they sleepwalk through the early stages of the season. Sacramento in off a pair of impressive wins defeating Oklahoma City and Utah and their young legs are willing to run with the Warriors. Take the KINGS! |
11-24-18 | Pelicans v. Wizards +1 | Top | 114-124 | Win | 100 | 9 h 47 m | Show |
New Orleans at Washington 8:05 ET Wizards over Pelicans- Whoa, did that really happen? How did a team with Anthony Davis loss to the New York Knicks last night. Ah yes, The Pelicans were on the road where they are just 2-8 in 10 games. Last season Washington defeated New Orleans in both meetings and have won 12 of the last 13 meetings and are 20-7 in the last 27. Sometimes, the beat goes on when teams meet no matter who is on the floor. Note, that the Pelicans are 0-7 ATS following a straight-up loss. Take the WIZARDS! |
11-23-18 | Jazz v. Lakers -2.5 | Top | 83-90 | Win | 100 | 12 h 34 m | Show |
Utah at L.A. Lakers 10:30 ET Jazz (+) over Lakers- There is bound to be a turn-around of this series as the Lakers of course have LeBron James and all things are different for Los Angeles. Utah swept the series last season 3-0 and have won the last seven meetings. The young Lakers are maturing fast with James leading the way and are facing a struggling Jazz team that has dropped four of their last five. Last time out the Jazz had a weak effort in their game at Sacramento and I expect a huge change in attitude here. Take UTAH! |
11-23-18 | Hornets +6 v. Thunder | 104-109 | Win | 100 | 9 h 38 m | Show
Charlotte at Oklahoma City 8:00 ET Hornets (+) over Thunder- This is a series the Thunder have dominated not only straight-up but against the points as well. Oklahoma City is 15-5-1 ATS in the last 21 meetings including 8-2-1 in OKC and they are 5-0 ATS in their last five home games as well as winning 11 of its last 13. So far this season the Hornets have had huge scoring out of Kemba Walker and a maturing Frank Kaminsky in the middle. The Thunder just finished a road trip with a 123-95 win at Golden State and I expect them to return to earth here. Take CHARLOTTE! |
11-23-18 | Texas +5.5 v. Michigan State | Top | 68-78 | Loss | -105 | 6 h 45 m | Show |
Texas vs Michigan State 6:30 ET Longhorns (+) over Spartans- both clubs are on winning streak as the Longhorns are 5-0 on the season and Michigan State has won four straight since their opening loss to Kentucky. The Spartans got here with an easy 87-67 win over UCLA while Texas was 'our' 'Highest-Rated' winner 92-89 over North Carolina. The way these two won was completely different as the 'Horns trailed the Tar Heels 17-4 and fought their way back while Michigan State just routed the Bruins. MSU has been on a down trend since conference play started last season and are 5-12-2 ATS in their last 19 games overall. I expect this game to pay close will take the points...take TEXAS! |
11-23-18 | Grizzlies +4.5 v. Clippers | 107-112 | Loss | -105 | 4 h 19 m | Show
Memphis at L.A. Clippers 3:30 ET Grizzlies (+) over Clippers- The re-built LA Clippers are playing their best ball in years as they are 11-6 overall while going 7-1 SU and 6-2 ATS at home. But, the biggest surprise in the NBA is Memphis who had the best record (12-5) in the Western Conference along with a 12-5 ATS record. Like Los Angeles the Grizzlies have done most of their damage at home also going 7-1 both SU and ATS. LA has won nine of the last 13 meetings but Memphis finally has a healthy Mike Conley and he has been the difference this season. Take the GRIZZLIES! |

11-22-18 | Texas +7.5 v. North Carolina | Top | 92-89 | Win | 100 | 9 h 28 m | Show |
Texas vs North Carolina 7:30 ET Longhorns (+) over Tar Heels- When Skaka Smart left VCU to coach for Texas many thought there would be an instant turnaround but this is the year their 'backers' expect results. North Carolina is undefeated and won their first five games by an average of 30.6 points as they have played all five games at home. Texas believe it or not leads this series 7-3 and has won the last three meetings and seven of the last eight. The Tar Heels will be without point guard Seventh Woods who leads the team in assists will miss this contest because of a concussion received in practice Tuesday. Take TEXAS! |
11-21-18 | Thunder +1 v. Warriors | Top | 123-95 | Win | 100 | 11 h 14 m | Show |
Oklahoma City at Golden State 10:30 ET Thunder (+) over Warriors- How can this be? 'We' all realize that Golden State is in a state of flux right now having lost three straight and four of their last five. The Warriors troubles started when Stephen Curry went down and then 'team' jealousy raised it's as fragile egos and insecurity surfaced. This internal turmoil is not a small issue as basketball is such a game of chemistry (see Carmelo Anthony). If there is any other team that loves to run the floor and can play with the Warriors. I'm sure Kevin Durant will come up with some issue regarding his former team and teammate Russell Westbrook. Take OKLAHOMA CITY! |
11-21-18 | Kings v. Jazz -9 | Top | 119-110 | Loss | -101 | 10 h 55 m | Show |
Sacramento at Utah 9:00 ET Jazz (-) over Kings- It's time for the Jazz to starting putting things together as they are a disappointing 8-9 on the season and have inconsistent to date. Utah's last five losses are by an average 22.2 points and now they are a heavy favorite against a Kings team that is vastly improved and actually have a better record at this point of the season. The Jazz have played 11 of their first 17 on the road and I expect being back home will help against a young Sacramento team. Utah defeated the Kings in the season opener 123-117 (non-cover -8.5) and I expect them to do it against but get the money this time. Take UTAH! |
11-21-18 | Grizzlies +2.5 v. Spurs | 104-103 | Win | 100 | 9 h 7 m | Show
Memphis at San Antonio 8:30 ET Grizzlies (+) Spurs- Probably the biggest turn around to date in the NBA has been the Memphis Grizzlies who were close to the NBA's worst last season and are 11-5 this season and on a four-game winning streak. The Grizzlies' have done it with defense as the lead the league in scoring defense (100 pts per) and turnover differential while ranking second in steals. San Antonio has won the last six meetings going 4-1-1 ATS but are not the same team with the 'over-rated' DeMar DeRozan replacing Kwahi Leonard and their record shows it. These two clubs are moving in opposite directions and it's the Grizzlies turn. Take MEMPHIS! |
11-20-18 | Nets v. Heat -3.5 | Top | 104-92 | Loss | -105 | 8 h 51 m | Show |
Brooklyn at Miami 7:35 ET Nets (+) over Heat- Six days ago the Heat defeated the Nets 120-107 in Brooklyn the only win for Miami in their last six games. This Heat team has shown frustrations in their play and their injury situation as point guard Goran Dragic who's swollen right knee needs to be drained of fluid too often for coach Eric Spoelstra liking. Miami hasn't played well at home winning and 'covering' just three of the nine games they have hosted. Although Brooklyn is just 4-11-1 ATS in the last 16 meetings they are 3-1-1 ATS in the last five in the 'Magic City.' Take the N-E-T-S! |
11-20-18 | Clippers v. Wizards +1.5 | 118-125 | Win | 100 | 7 h 10 m | Show
L.A. Clippers at Washington 7:00 ET Wizards (+) over Clippers- The Washington Wizards have more issues then Dwight Howard's sore ass as they look to trade the contracts of either John Wall or Bradley Beal. Wall is the more likely subject to be moved as he like Allen Iverson doesn't see the benefit of practicing hard. Los Angeles has won five straight and yet this game is a virtual pick-em against the struggling 5-11 Wizards. The Clippers are 4-0 ATS in the last four meetings and Washington is 1-6 ATS in their last seven games against winning competition. But, you guess it, it's the Wizards time. Take WASHINGTON! |
11-20-18 | Raptors v. Magic +6.5 | Top | 93-91 | Win | 100 | 7 h 13 m | Show |
Toronto at Orlando 7:05 ET Magic (+) over Raptors- Toronto leads the NBA in wins with 13 despite Kawhi Leonard sitting out five of their 17 games although he will be back dressed and ready tonight after taking off Saturday's win at Chicago. The Raptors won all three meetings last tear and have won four straight in this series but oddly enough they are only 3-7-1 ATS in the last 11 meetings. Orlando who started 2-6 but have won seven of nine since to rise above the 'break-even' mark. The Magic have won four straight home games while Toronto is 2-5 ATS in their last seven trips to the 'Magic Kingdom.' Play on ORLANDO! |
11-19-18 | Thunder v. Kings +2.5 | 113-117 | Win | 100 | 10 h 2 m | Show
Chip's 'Guaranteed' NBA Megabucks Best Bet Oklahoma City at Sacramento 10:00 ET Kings (+) over Thunder- How does this happen? Three weeks ago the Thunder were 0-4 and looked absolutely helpless both on offense as well as defense (not their strong point). Then Russell Westbrook returned and they started to play better on both ends of the court and have won 10 of their last 11 including the last six without Westbrook who had an ankle sprain. He should return tonight and now the club will do a lot of standing around watching Russell do his thing. Sacramento is much improved this season but have dropped their last two but are 4-0 this season playing on one day's rest. The Kings are also 5-0 ATS in the last five meetings against OKC and are 4-1 ATS as hosts against the Thunder. More of the same tonight...take SACRAMENTO! |
11-19-18 | Nuggets +5.5 v. Bucks | 98-104 | Loss | -104 | 8 h 8 m | Show
Denver at Milwaukee 8:00 ET Nuggets (+) over Bucks- Both these clubs were off to fast starts to the season as the Bucks opened 7-0 Denver was 9-1 until their recent slide losing five of their last six. Milwaukee has done most of the damage at home going 7-1-1 ATS in their last nine but are 0-4 ATS in their last four after a win. Denver's only win in their last five was against lowly Atlanta but they are 4-1 ATS in their last five trips to Milwaukee and will be ready after a sluggish performance last time out. Take DENVER! |
11-19-18 | Celtics v. Hornets +3 | Top | 112-117 | Win | 100 | 7 h 16 m | Show |
Boston at Charlotte 7:00 ET Hornets (+) over Celtics- Boston may have a healthy Gordon Hayward and Kyrie Irving but their overall 'team' play has take a step back this season as they are just 9-7 SU and 6-10 ATS. The Celtics are coming off a home loss to Utah where coach Brad Stevens had to remove his starters as just two of them scored in double figures. Charlotte has dropped their last two and are off an overtime loss Saturday night 112-119 to Philadelphia as Kemba Walker scored a franchise record 60 points in the loss. As far as head-to-head action is concerned Boston has been totally dominate winning seven straight meetings and are 6-0 ATS in their last six trips to Charlotte. So, why would I like the Hornets...well, they have improved while the Celtics are losing ground. In a surprise that CHARLOTTE! |
11-18-18 | Warriors v. Spurs -2.5 | 92-104 | Win | 100 | 9 h 41 m | Show
Golden State at San Antonio 7:00 ET Spurs over Warriors- I don't know what it is but there is something going on with the Warriors and until they get it strengthen out I will fade them when the opportunity presences itself which is becoming every night they play. We make some money playing against the Spurs on their recent road trip and now they return home after three straight losses and Golden State couldn't be a better opponent. To start with they are a mess right now and San Antonio needs an opponent they respect. Come home off that trip they are now favored and they aren’t been as good in two decades. Take SAN ANTONIO! |
11-18-18 | Lakers v. Heat -110 | 113-97 | Loss | -110 | 8 h 45 m | Show
L.A. Lakers at Miami 6:00 ET Heat over Lakers- Lebron James returns to Miami once again as a visitor but in a different uniform once again as he drags a young and undisciplined Lakers squad on their first extended road trip. Los Angeles had won six of seven before they started on this trip and their first performance and I don't expect it to get much better. Dwyane Wade has missed the last six Heat gams and won't make it here either but with or without him Miami has won nine of the last 10 at home against the Lakers. Once again at home...take MIAMI! |
11-18-18 | Blazers v. Wizards +1.5 | Top | 119-109 | Loss | -110 | 8 h 54 m | Show |
Portland at Washington 6:00 ET Wizards (+) over Trailblazers- Portland is another one of those 'Least Coast' teams that beats up on underlings at home and then turn into tourist on the road. Washinton is a disappointing 5-10 straight-up and ATS but have shown some life with the return dare I say of Dwight Howard...yes that Dwight Howard who started with Orlando and belongs in Disney's Fantasy Island because no one will ever win with this guy at the center. The Wizards just had a 3-game win streak stopped by the Nets 115-104 on Friday but are 6-0 ATS after losing a home game by 10 or more points and Washington is 8-3 ATS as hosts against the Trailblazers. So, well, it isn't like the Wizards can't win a game with Howard they just win in spite of him, this is one of those games. Take WASHINGTON! |
11-17-18 | Jazz +4 v. Celtics | Top | 98-86 | Win | 100 | 8 h 30 m | Show |
Utah at Boston 7:35 ET Jazz (+) over Celtics- Trailing by 5-points with under two minutes to play the Celtics managed to pull out their second straight home win in overtime against Toronto last night. The Jazz meanwhile were struggling down the stretch as they faltered in the final moments against Philadelphia last night and they are just 1-7 ATS in the second of back-to-backs. Utah has had their problems in Boston where they are just 1-6-2 ATS in the last nine meetings and only 4-10-2 ATS overall in the last 16 meetings. Utah's Sam Mitchell is off a terrible night and the Celtics should be a little worn out both physically and mentally. Take UTAH! |
11-17-18 | Lakers v. Magic +4.5 | 117-130 | Win | 100 | 8 h 23 m | Show
L.A. Lakers at Orlando 7:00 ET Magic (+) over Lakers- Los Angeles enters the 'Magic Kingdom' off four straight wins as LeBron James is off his first 40-point performance as a Laker. Unfortunately (maybe not) the Lakers have lost point guard Rajon Rondo with a broken hand and he will be out about six weeks, that will give the 'great' Lonzo Ball more playing time. Since their opening home game loss 120-95 to the Clippers on Nov. 2 the Magic are 5-2 and an amazing 9-1 over LA at home. Take ORLANDO! |
11-17-18 | 76ers v. Hornets -2.5 | 122-119 | Loss | -104 | 8 h 9 m | Show
Philadelphia at Charlotte 7:00 ET Hornets (-) over 76ers- Okay, here we go. The 76ers have defeated Charlotte eight straight times and they have made the block buster trade that could put them over-the-top acquiring All-Star Jimmy Butler. Yet, they opened as an underdog here and maybe their 2-7 SU and ATS road record in the reason or possibly because of this being the second of back-to-back contests Joel Embiid may not see as many minutes. Either way tonight it is CHARLOTTE! |
11-16-18 | Heat +5 v. Pacers | 91-99 | Loss | -105 | 8 h 58 m | Show
Miami at Indiana 7:00 ET Heat (+) over Pacers- Indiana has one win in their last four outings and that came at Miami 110-102 a week ago tonight scoring the final 12 points of the game. In that contest Heat guard Goran Dragic did not play but he will be ready tonight as he returned on Saturday and he will be a strong factor for Miami. Indiana has had four days of rest and or practice but are just 3-3 both SU and ATS at home the exact same record as Miami on the road. Take MIAMI! |
11-16-18 | Jazz +3 v. 76ers | Top | 107-113 | Loss | -105 | 8 h 16 m | Show |
Utah at Philadelphia 7:00 ET Jazz (+) over 76ers- It looks like the lines-makers adjustment to the Jimmy Butler trade has been strong but and surprisingly enough in the opposite direction of what 'we' expected. The 76ers are a slight favorite here as they are off a loss in Butler's debut to Orlando and the Jazz are off their worst franchise loss since moving to Utah getting crushed at Dallas Wednesday 118-68 (that is a 50-point loss if I read it right). The Jazz will come to play tonight while the Sixers are still adjusting to playing with Butler and without the two starters they sent to Minnesota. Take UTAH! |
11-16-18 | Raptors +2 v. Celtics | Top | 116-123 | Loss | -102 | 8 h 7 m | Show |
Toronto at Boston 7:00 ET Raptors (+) over Celtics- Boston returned home and rebounded from 1-4 road trip with a resounding victory over the lowly Chicago Bulls while the Raptors have dropped their last two after starting 12-1. With the return of Gordon Hayward many of 'us' were expecting more out of the Celtics than we have seen so far this season. Toronto blew a 19-point lead to the Pistons and were defeated by last season's coach Dwane Casey. The Raptors might have got caught looking toward this match-up and they will be ready and there are two huge trends that favor Toronto. First, they are 7-2 ATS in their last nine meetings and Boston is 0-4 ATS in their last four against teams with a winning record. The last time these two met in Boston the Celtics were -4.5 and now they are favored by less than a bucket. The lines-maker has mad an adjustment and so should 'we'. Take TORONTO! |
11-16-18 | St. John's v. Rutgers +3.5 | Top | 84-65 | Loss | -102 | 7 h 14 m | Show |
St. John's at Rutgers 7:00 ET Scarlet Knights (+) over Red Storm- This was supposed to be the 'coming-out' season for St. John's, Chris Mullin has been given time to establish his personality on this club as he enters his fourth season at the helm. But, as fate would have it, the Red Storm's lone experienced big man on the roster has surgery on his right knee Wednesday and already the 2-0 Johnnies are having to make adjustments. St. John's prides itself on their defense and they will need it to contain the Knights who scored 90- and 95 points in their two wins. First road game for the young team from Queens and the school that is considered the University of New Jersey...Take RUTGERS! |
11-15-18 | Spurs +5.5 v. Clippers | Top | 111-116 | Win | 100 | 11 h 29 m | Show |
San Antonio at L.A. Clippers 10:30 ET Spurs (+) over Clippers- The Clippers are off two great overtime wins for 'us' defeating Milwaukee and Golden State on Saturday and Monday. Meanwhile, the Spurs have dropped their last four on the road including last night 111-96 loss at the lowly Phoenix Suns. On the flip side the Clippers are 6-0 ATS in their last six home games but were 1-2 against San Antonio last season but are 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings in Los Angeles. The Spurs have now lost four of their last five and need a huge effort tonight. Take SAN ANTONIO! |
11-15-18 | Ohio State v. Creighton +2 | Top | 69-60 | Loss | -106 | 7 h 45 m | Show |
Ohio State at Creighton 7:00 ET Bluejays over Buckeyes- both clubs are 2-0 on the season with the Buckeyes getting the cash twice while the Bluejays are 0-2 ATS. Although these two have not met since 1972 but Creighton is 13-1 against the Big Ten in their last fourteen meetings. Creighton was predicted to finish ninth in the Big East and have just two starters returning. With all this stuff going on this game is a virtual pick-em and that lends me to take the home team. Take CREIGHTON! |
11-14-18 | Spurs v. Suns +5 | Top | 96-116 | Win | 100 | 10 h 52 m | Show |
San Antonio at Phoenix 9:00 ET Suns (+) over Spurs- Well, the Spurs had to do it and they really had no choice in trading away Kawhi Leonard to Toronto in exchange for DeMar DeRosen and there lies the rub. DeRosen is the type of player that will provide you all kinds of stats expect for one...wins in crucial games as stats never lie but they can be very deceiving. Phoenix who opened the season with a huge win over Dallas has dropped 11 of 12 since including their last four. San Antonio has been no prize of late losing three of their last four but have won 14 of the last 15 meetings. After their blowout 118-101 loss to New Orleans Monday as new coach Igor Kokoskov complained about the lack of intensity. Although 2-5 SU at home the Suns are 4-3 ATS as hosts. Take PHOENIX! |
11-14-18 | Jazz v. Mavs +4.5 | 68-118 | Win | 100 | 9 h 17 m | Show
Utah at Dallas 8:30 ET Mavericks (+) over Jazz- These two have already met twice of five meetings this season and the Jazz have posted a pair of wins and covers. This is the second of a five-game road trip for Utah as they face the 76ers next and then Boston, with that schedule they might feel like they have a 'day-off' facing the Mavericks. Utah has won five straight and 8-of-9 meetings buy are just 2-6-1 ATS in their last nine meetings in Dallas. The Mavericks feel that they are starting to put things together and will post a win tonight. Take DALLAS! |
11-14-18 | 76ers v. Magic +6.5 | 106-111 | Win | 100 | 8 h 3 m | Show
Philadelphia at Orlando 7:00 ET Magic (+) over 76ers- Tonight Jimmy Butler will most likely make his debut tonight for Philadelphia and his new teammates welcomed him with open arms. Most trends here back the 76ers as they are 6-1 ATS in their last seven games in Orlando and the Magic are 1-6 ATS in their last seven home games overall. But, there is one trend for Orlando that says the Philly is 1-6 ATS in their last seven games following a win. There should be an adjustment period for the Sixers with Butler having practiced just once with his new teammates. Take ORLANDO! |
11-13-18 | Hawks v. Warriors -12.5 | 103-110 | Loss | -105 | 12 h 59 m | Show
Atlanta at Golden State 10:30 ET Warriors (-) over Hawks- I'm sure a good percentage of the action will come on Golden State as they are off an outright loss against the Clippers last night. The lowly Hawks have lost their last four and are 1-6 on the road as Atlanta has lost 12 of the last 13 meetings. They will be without center Dewayne Dedmon and the matchup between Stephen Curry and Atlanta rookie Trae Young won't happen as Curry nurses as sore groin. Golden State is 5-0 ATS at home against teams with a losing road record. Take the WARRIORS! |
11-13-18 | Rockets +4.5 v. Nuggets | Top | 109-99 | Win | 100 | 11 h 32 m | Show |
Houston at Denver 9:00 ET Rockets (+) over Nuggets- The Carmelo Anthony saga continues as the Rockets travel to Denver without their 'Super-Star' who is being shipped somewhere (anywhere) which will of course improve Houston immediately and start the decent of some other club. The Rockets won a lead leading 65 games last season with a run and gun offense that only Anthony could destroy. The Nuggets who started 9-1 have dropped their last three folding in the final minutes of their last two losses. Houston was 3-0 against the Nuggets last season and have won seven straight meetings. Houston is 4-3 on the road and with the return of Chris Paul and Clint Capela tonight helps the Rockets win here. Take HOUSTON! |
