2006 Sun Bowl Odds

Oregon State didn’t have high expectations entering the season, but they were favored over Missouri when the 2006 Sun Bowl odds came out. The Beavers were just 5-6 last year and were picked to finish 7th in the Pac-10, then the team got off to a 2-3 start to the season. The season got turned around though and they managed a 33-31 stunning upset over the USC Trojans. They weren’t done with the Trojans though as they went on to beat in-state rival Oregon and Hawaii to cap off the season at 9-4. Now the team can reach double digits in wins for the first time since 2000 and is in the top 25 for the first time since late October 2003.

Missouri did the complete opposite, starting 6-0 before fading to lose four out of their last six games. The Tigers are in a bowl game for the second straight season, which hasn’t happened since 1998. Missouri’s offense is fun to watch and is lead by quarterback Chase Daniel. The offense is gaining 414.3 ypg which is 12th in the nation. They may run into trouble though with a Beaver defense that creates a lot of turnovers, since Daniel has been prone to throw picks in the Tiger losses.

This is a pretty exciting matchup between two interesting teams. Both teams should be up for this one and that is why you are going to need to pick up our NCAA Football Bowl Predictions in order to get a handle on who is going to cover.
