03-14-23 | Red Wings +1.5 v. Predators | 1-2 | Win | 100 | 5 h 25 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Predators presently find themselves in the fight of their lives to make the 2023 Stanley Cup Playoffs, sitting just five points below the current 2nd-Wild Card holders Colorado Avalanche, trailing the 1st Wild Card occupants Edmonton Oilers by seven points, but with three games in hand. Everything counts for Nashville at the moment! Still, while the Preds have done pretty decently lately, winning seven of their last 10 matchups (7-2-1), only one of those victories, mind, has come on their own ice, where Nashville has recorded just a single regulation win on the previous six occasions (2-4-0). Detroit, which is still just seven points off a playoff berth in the Eastern Conference with two games in hand, meanwhile, has been a real threat versus opponents from the Western Conference of late (6-1-1), while the Predators have only managed to triumph in four of their most recent 11 domestic fixtures against the Red Wings (4-7-0). |

03-14-23 | Capitals +1.5 v. Rangers | 3-5 | Loss | -170 | 5 h 36 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Two division foes with differing agendas battle for the third time this season Tuesday night when the Rangers host the Capitals. New York heads into Tuesday at 84 points, good enough to be six points clear of the Penguins for the first wild-card spot. However, Rangers are 4-5-2 since Feb. 17 to go from six points out of first place in the division to a 10-point deficit behind the Carolina Hurricanes and New Jersey Devils. During their run of uneven performances, the Rangers played three home games and lost to Winnipeg and Ottawa. New York is returning home to play six of its next eight at home after going 2-0-1 on a three-game trip through Montreal, Buffalo and Pittsburgh. The Rangers ended the trip with a 3-2 loss in Pittsburgh on Sunday when backup goalie Jaroslav Halak was beaten by Kris Letang's power-play goal 1:38 into overtime. Sunday's loss occurred after the Rangers got 32 saves from Igor Shesterkin and a power-play goal from Artemi Panarin in a 2-1 overtime win at Buffalo a day earlier. It marked the sixth time since the Edmonton win on Feb. 17 that the Rangers scored two goals or fewer. Consider that the Capitals are 5-2 in the last 7 meetings. |
03-14-23 | Lightning +1.5 v. Devils | 4-1 | Win | 100 | 5 h 31 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Lightning are having a great season with their offense leading the way, scoring 3.45 goals per game. Nikita Kucherov and Brayden Point have scored 69 goals and 105 assists to leave the top line but the rest of the offensive stepped up as well. Brandon Hagel, Alex Killorn, and Nick Paul have combined for 60 goals and 75 assists while defensemen Victor Hedman and Mikhail Sergachev have added 13 goals and 78 assists from the point to open up the offense. The bright spot has been the play of goaltender Andrei Vasilevskiy who has a .914 save percentage and a 2.70 goals-against average on 1564 shots with 13.3 goals saved above average. |
03-14-23 | Jets +1.5 v. Hurricanes | 3-5 | Loss | -136 | 4 h 27 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Winnipeg Jets are allowing an average of 2.81 goals per game, which is 11th best in the NHL, while scoring an average of 3.10 goals per game. Winnipeg is holding opponents to an average of 31.2 shots per game which is 15th best and the Jets are taking an average of 30.4 shots per game which is 22nd. Winnipeg's power play scores 21.3% of the time the Jets have the man advantage which is 17th and the penalty kill unit is successful 82.5% of the time Winnipeg is short-handed which is 7th best. Connor Hellebuyck is 29-20-2 with a 2.64 goals against average, .919 save percentage and three shutouts. |
03-12-23 | Predators v. Ducks +1.5 | 5-4 | Win | 100 | 12 h 48 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Ducks have won against the spread in five of their last eight games and two straight at home. The Predators have lost their previous two games against the spread and are 2-2 ATS in their last four road games. The Predators did beat the Ducks at home earlier this season, but Nashville has lost their last two road games straight up and have been trending in the wrong direction away from their home arena. Looks for the Ducks to win at home this time around. |
03-12-23 | Wild v. Coyotes +1.5 | 4-5 | Win | 100 | 12 h 44 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units With the way that Fleury has been playing lately, Arizona should struggle to score in this game, but the Wild are going to struggle themselves without Kaprizov. He is one of the best players in the NHL, and his absence is a big one. The big difference in this game is going to be the penalty killing. Arizona has been terrible of late. The Wild are struggling on the power play in their last 10 (2-26), but will get going here. Take Minnesota to score early and clamp down defensively, but they will win by just one. |
03-11-23 | Oilers +1.5 v. Maple Leafs | 4-7 | Loss | -200 | 1 h 15 m | Show
Rating; 2 Units This is going to be a great game between two of the best teams in the league. The Maple Leafs look to win on their home ice but the Oilers are coming off back-to-back wins and look to control this game from the first period. The Oilers, who average 3.85 goals per game, should pile on the goals with Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl, and the rest of the forward unit controlling the puck in the offensive zone and creating open shots with effective puck movement. The Oilers look to build off a game where they only allowed two goals and limit the Maple Leafs' offense with Darnell Nurse, Cody Ceci, and the rest of the defensive unit creating turnovers in the defensive zone and limiting shots on the net, allowing goaltender Stuart Skinner to make plenty of big saves. The Oilers should win the game and provide great odds in the process as road Underdogs to extend their winning streak to three games. |
03-11-23 | Golden Knights +1.5 v. Hurricanes | 4-0 | Win | 100 | 1 h 12 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Golden Knights are having a great season with their offense stepping up and scoring 3.14 goals per game. Chandler Stephenson and Jack Eichel have scored 36 goals and 65 assists to lead the top line but the entire offense has stepped up. Reilly Smith, Jonathan Marchessault, and William Karlsson have combined for 52 goals and 75 assists while defensemen Shea Theodore and Alex Pietrangelo have added 16 goals and 56 assists from the point to open up the offense. |
03-09-23 | Islanders +1.5 v. Penguins | 4-3 | Win | 100 | 10 h 55 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The New York Islanders face the Pittsburgh Penguins in a matchup between two playoff-caliber teams in the Eastern Conference looking to keep their wild card positions. The Islanders have a 33-25-8 record and with back-to-back wins, have leaped into the first wild card spot in the Eastern Conference. The Penguins have a 32-22-9 record and are coming off a come-from-behind 5-4 overtime win that helped them maintain their playoff spot. Both teams are looking to secure their playoff spots down the stretch and the upcoming game looks to be a great one. Consider that the Penguins are 5-13 in their last 18 vs. Eastern Conference. |
03-09-23 | Golden Knights +1.5 v. Lightning | 4-3 | Win | 100 | 10 h 52 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Tamp Bay offense has been great but the defense has struggled, allowing 3.06 goals per game. Mikhail Sergachev and Ian Cole have combined for 6.4 defensive point shares but the rest of the unit has struggled, allowing opponents to carry the puck into the offensive zone and find open shots on the net. Consider as well that the Golden Knights are 12-4 in their last 16 vs. Atlantic. |
03-07-23 | Blues v. Coyotes +1.5 | 2-6 | Win | 100 | 9 h 48 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units After staging a spirited comeback attempt against the New Jersey Devils on Sunday, the Arizona Coyotes hope to carry that vibe into today's home game against the St. Louis Blues. The Coyotes rallied from a 4-2 deficit to tie the game and force overtime with the Devils at Mullett Arena. The Blues are 1-5-2 in their last eight. These teams split their first two games this season. The Coyotes won 5-0 at home on Jan. 26 on Karel Vejmelka's 33-save shutout. Consider that the Blues are 8-21 in their last 29 after scoring 2 goals or less in their previous game. |
03-07-23 | Flames +1.5 v. Wild | 1-0 | Win | 100 | 8 h 52 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Buoyed by Monday's win in Dallas that snapped a five-game losing skid, the Calgary Flames head to St. Paul, Minn., looking for revenge against the Minnesota Wild tonight. After all, the Wild handed the Flames a humbling 3-0 defeat on Saturday. "We definitely owe Minnesota, so we have to be ready to go. It's another big game," Flames forward Tyler Toffoli said. Toffoli's goal with 6.2 seconds remaining was the difference maker in Calgary's 5-4 win over the Stars, and provided a much-needed boost for the club sitting outside a playoff spot. "Ever since last year, I feel it's a playoff game every time we play these guys. It's a rivalry. It's fun to play those types of games," Toffoli said. Consider that the Flames are 5-2 in the last 7 meetings. |
03-06-23 | Flames v. Stars -125 | 5-4 | Loss | -125 | 5 h 54 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Stars have been playing great recently and I see them overwhelming a struggling Flames team on both ends of the ice. The Stars, who average 3.30 goals per game, should find the back of the net at will against the Flames, who allow 3.06 goals per game, with Jason Robertson, Roope Hintz, and the rest of the forward unit controlling the puck in the offensive zone and creating open shots with quick puck movement. The Stars, who allow only 2.59 goals per game, should limit the Flames' offense with Esa Lindell, Miro Heiskanen, and the rest of the defensive unit creating turnovers in the defensive zone and limiting shooting lanes, allowing goaltender Jake Oettinger to make plenty of big saves. The Stars should win the game with a dominant performance on their home ice to win their fourth game in a row. |
03-06-23 | Oilers v. Sabres +1.5 | 3-2 | Win | 100 | 9 h 39 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units This is going to be a great game between two great teams. The Oilers look to bounce back from a rough loss but the Sabres look to step up and control this game on their home ice. The Sabres, who average 3.74 goals per game, should pile on the goals against an Oilers defense that allows 3.31 goals per game with Tage Thompson, Jeff Skinner, and the rest of the forward unit carrying the puck into the offensive zone and creating open shots with effective puck movement. The Sabres should limit the Oilers' offense with Rasmus Dahlin, Owen Power, and the rest of the defensive unit creating turnovers in the defensive zone and limiting shots on the net, allowing goaltender Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen to make plenty of big saves. The Sabres should win the game and provide great odds in the process as home Underdogs. |
03-05-23 | Red Wings +1.5 v. Flyers | 1-3 | Loss | -240 | 8 h 12 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units After seemingly accepting their fate of most likely missing the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the seventh straight year following a string of defeats, which have now risen to five in a row, the Red Wings turned into NHL Trade Deadline sellers, moving Tyler Bertuzzi, Jakub Vrana, Filip Hronek and Oskar Sundqvist for draft picks. That said, the team still remains pretty competitive (the postseason is not written off completely). Especially when it comes down to facing off against teams that are struggling at the moment. Like the Flyers, for example! Despite having beaten Detroit with a count of 2-1 in their prior meeting this season at Little Caesars Arena, Philadelphia has managed to post just three victories since then, losing on a whopping 12 occasions. The Flyers have also dropped three of their previous four overall decisions against the Wings and are a shocking 0-6 in their most recent six matchups played on Sundays, when Detroit, in turn, has won four consecutive games. |
03-05-23 | Lightning v. Hurricanes -158 | 0-6 | Win | 100 | 5 h 15 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The offense has been great but the defense has carried the Hurricanes, allowing only 2.55 goals per game with only four goals in the last two games. Brent Burns and Jaccob Slavin have combined for 8.1 defensive point shares and 152 blocked shots while Brady Skjei, Brett Pesce, and Jalen Chatfield have combined for 11.0 defensive point shares to add depth to the unit. In addition, goaltender Antti Raanta has been great with a .909 save percentage and a 2.26 goals-against average on 541 shots with 2.3 goals saved above average. |
03-04-23 | Maple Leafs -199 v. Canucks | 1-4 | Loss | -199 | 10 h 31 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Maple Leafs are having a great season and look to dominate this game against a struggling Canucks team. The Maple Leafs, who average 3.40 goals per game, should create plenty of scoring chances with Auston Matthews, Mitch Marner, and the rest of the forward unit carrying the puck into the offensive zone and creating open shots with quick centering passes. The Maple Leafs, who allow only 2.63 goals per game, should limit the Canucks offense with Mark Giordano, Justin Holl, and the rest of the defensive unit creating turnovers in the defensive zone and limiting shots on the net, allowing goaltender Ilya Samsonov to make plenty of big saves. The Maple Leafs should win the game and cover the spread in a dominant win on their home ice. |
03-04-23 | Rangers v. Bruins -169 | 2-4 | Win | 100 | 4 h 35 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Both teams are on the right side of the playoff cut line in the Eastern Conference as we turned the calendar to March earlier this week. With that said, the Rangers have stumbled a bit with five losses in seven games despite adding Tarasenko and Patrick Kane to the mix in the last couple of weeks. Boston added Orlov and Hathaway from Washington while bringing in Tyler Bertuzzi from Detroit. The Bruins have a stellar pair of goaltenders and they are explosive on the offensive end of the ice. Boston took the first two meetings this season, with both of those coming on the road, and they boast a ridiculous 25-2-3 mark on home ice this season. The Bruins have momentum, which the Rangers lack, and that’s enough to give them the upper hand in this contest. |
03-04-23 | Red Wings v. Islanders -191 | 1-4 | Win | 100 | 3 h 55 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Islanders have won three of their last five games and two of their last three home games. They have played well offensively, scoring nine goals in their last three home games. They have played well on special teams, converting 17 percent of their power play opportunities. The Red Wings aren’t great at killing penalties and they’ve struggled defensively in recent road games, giving up 13 goals in their last three road games, and will have a hard time slowing down the Islanders in this game. The Red Wings have lost four straight games and three of their last four road games. They have struggled offensively, scoring only six goals in their last three road games, but they have played well on special teams, converting 20 percent of their power play opportunities. The Islanders have done a good job killing penalties and they held their last four opponents to six total goals, so expect them to keep Detroit’s offense in check. |
03-03-23 | Jets v. Oilers -152 | 3-6 | Win | 100 | 7 h 54 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Jets are looking to snap out of their losing streak and pull off the upset on the road. The problem is that the Oilers are having a great season and look to control this game on their home ice. The Oilers, who average 3.82 goals per game, should pile on the goals with Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl, and the rest of the forward unit carrying the puck into the offensive zone and creating open shots with quick passes near the net. The Oilers should limit the Jets' offense with Darnell Nurse, Cody Ceci, and the rest of the defensive unit creating turnovers in the defensive zone and limiting shooting lanes, allowing goaltender Stuart Skinner to make plenty of big saves. The Oilers should win the game with a strong performance on their home ice. |
03-02-23 | Stars -240 v. Blackhawks | 5-2 | Win | 100 | 5 h 44 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Blackhawks are a depleted team and I see the Stars taking advantage and overwhelming them on both ends of the ice. The Stars, who average 3.20 goals per game, should find the back of the net at will against the Blackhawks, who allow 3.58 goals per game, with Jason Robertson, Roope Hintz, and the rest of the forward unit carrying the puck into the offensive zone and creating open shots with effective puck movement. The Stars should limit a Blackhawks offense that averages only 2.47 goals per game with Esa Lindell, Miro Heiskanen, and the rest of the defensive unit creating turnovers in the defensive zone and limiting shots on the net, allowing goaltender Jake Oettinger to make plenty of big saves. |
03-02-23 | Senators v. Rangers -147 | 5-3 | Loss | -147 | 3 h 21 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Ottawa Senators have lost two of their last three road games. The New York Rangers have won six of their last eight home games. There is going to be plenty of energy in the building in this one as Patrick Kane makes his home debut at MSG. New York posted a 5-2 victory against the Kings in their previous home game. The Senators rely on offense to win games but it’s going to be difficult against one of the best defensive squads in the NHL. The Rangers have an xGA/60 minutes of only 2.44 goals, good for fifth in the league. The Rangers are clicking offensively, especially at MSG where they have collected four or more goals in four of their last five games. I recommend taking the Rangers in regulation for added value. |
03-02-23 | Predators v. Panthers -200 | 2-1 | Loss | -200 | 3 h 19 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Nashville seems to be punting on the season as they have dealt Nino Neiderreiter, Tanner Jeannot and Mattias Ekholm in the past week while also losing Ryan Johansen to surgery for the rest of the season. That makes things challenging for the Predators on both ends of the ice down the stretch of the regular season. Florida has alternated wins and losses in recent games and they have to find some more consistency if they hope to make a run for the postseason. The Panthers haven’t made any major moves with the trade deadline looming, hoping that they can get healthy and go on a run. With the Predators making changes to try and build for the future, you have to back Florida in this contest. |
02-27-23 | Canucks v. Stars -263 | 5-4 | Loss | -263 | 7 h 13 m | Show
Rating:2 Units The Canucks are looking to pull off the upset but the Stars are one of the best teams in the Western Conference and I see them controlling this game from the first period. The Stars should pile on the goals against a Canucks defense that allows 3.97 goals per game with Jason Robertson, Roope Hintz, and the rest of the forward unit controlling the puck in the offensive zone and creating open shots with great puck movement. The Stars, who allow only 2.56 goals per game, should limit the Canucks offense with Esa Lindell, Miro Heiskanen, and the rest of the defensive unit creating turnovers in the defensive zone and limiting shots on the net, allowing goaltender Jake Oettinger to blank the shots on the net. |
02-27-23 | Bruins -121 v. Oilers | 3-2 | Win | 100 | 5 h 17 m | Show
Rating: 3 Units Consider that the Bruins are 4-0 in their last 4 Monday games. While the Oilers are 0-4 in their last 4 when their opponent allows 2 goals or less in their previous game, 0-4 in their last 4 Monday games, and 6-1 in Oilers last 7 vs. Eastern Conference. |
02-25-23 | Lightning -155 v. Red Wings | 3-0 | Win | 100 | 10 h 17 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units This is going to be a great game between two teams eager to improve their playoff position. The Red Wings look to win at home but the Lightning look to find favorable matchups on both ends of the ice. The Lightning, who average 3.58 goals per game, should pile on the goals with Nikita Kucherov, Brayden Point, and the rest of the forward unit controlling the puck in the offensive zone and creating open shots with quick passes to the face-off circles and the slot. The Lightning, who allow only 2.93 goals per game, should limit the Red Wings' offense with Victor Hedman, Mikhail Sergachev, and the rest of the defensive unit creating turnovers in the defensive zone and limiting shots on the net, allowing goaltender Andrei Vasilevskiy to make plenty of big saves. The Lightning should win the game with a strong performance on the road. |
02-25-23 | Bruins -255 v. Canucks | 3-1 | Win | 100 | 9 h 13 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Canucks are looking to step up on their home ice and win this game. The problem is that the Bruins are the best team in the league and look to control this game from the first period. The Bruins, who average 3.75 goals per game, should pile on the goals against the Canucks, who allow 3.98 goals per game, with David Pastrnak, Brad Marchand, and the rest of the forward unit establishing a strong offensive zone presence and creating open shots with great puck movement while Hampus Lindholm and Charlie McAvoy generate shots on the net from the blue line. The Bruins, who allow only 2.11 goals per game, should limit the Canucks offense with Hampus Lindholm, Charlie McAvoy, and the rest of the defensive unit creating turnovers in the defensive zone and limiting shots on the net, allowing goaltender Linus Ullmark to make plenty of big saves. The Bruins should win the game and cover the spread in a dominant win on the road. |
02-24-23 | Canadiens v. Flyers -145 | 5-2 | Loss | -145 | 6 h 37 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Canadiens are coming off a big upset win and look to pull off the upset in the upcoming game. The problem is that the Flyers look to return from their road trip in style and control this game from the first period. The Flyers should pile on the goals against a Canadiens defense that allows 3.63 goals per game with Travis Konecny, Kevin Hayes, and the rest of the forward unit carrying the puck into the offensive zone and creating open shots with great puck movement. The Flyers should limit the Canadiens' offense, which is scoring only 2.67 goals per game, with Travis Sanheim, Nick Seeler, and the rest of the defensive unit creating turnovers in the defensive zone and limiting shots on the net, allowing goaltender Carter Hart to make plenty of big saves. The Flyers should win the game with a strong performance on their home ice. Take the Flyers money line as home Favorites. |
02-24-23 | Sabres v. Panthers -180 | 3-1 | Loss | -180 | 5 h 2 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Since 2017, NHL favorites with two or more days of rest are 130-48 (73%) versus unrested opponents with revenge, including 61-22 (73.5%) since 2020. Since 2013, NHL underdogs or home favorites coming off a win or close loss as road underdog are 160-774 including 328-196 (62.6%) since 2020. Finally, since 2015, unrested NHL road underdogs off a road win as underdogs are just 20-55 (27%) versus opponents off a win as a home favorite. |
02-22-23 | Flames v. Coyotes +1.5 | 6-3 | Loss | -137 | 12 h 50 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Flames have beaten the Coyotes in 17 of their previous 22 overall meetings, winning seven of their last 10 trips to Arizona, currently riding a six-game triumph run against the ‘Yotes. That said, Calgary has not really impressed that much lately, managing to grab just two victories in its past seven outings, currently being embroiled in a five-game losing streak against opponents with a negative record. The Flames have also posted seven setbacks in their most recent nine fixtures versus teams from the Central Division, while the Coyotes are proudly riding a four-game winning run on own ice, having triumphed in three of their previous four matchups overall. |
02-20-23 | Jets v. Rangers -165 | 4-1 | Loss | -165 | 12 h 25 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The first time these teams met, Winnipeg held a 1-0 lead through the first two periods, but New York was able to tie the score 3:55 into the third. The Jets then responded with three goals in the final 4:25 of the contest. That seems like an eternity since these teams played last, especially considering that New York enters as the hottest team in the NHL. They saw their seven-game winning streak snapped on Saturday, but this team has still earned points in 10 straight games and has won five straight games at home. Plus, they are not just winning games in Madison Square Garden, but blowing out opponents, outscoring them 25-13. Winnipeg enters as a very good team on the road, but they face the challenge of playing on back-to-back nights while the Rangers will be well-rested. Plus, they are facing a very tough New Jersey team on Sunday and could potentially come into this game as losers of three straight games on the road. |
02-20-23 | Islanders v. Penguins -140 | 4-2 | Loss | -140 | 7 h 47 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Penguins lost three of their last four games, but they’re playing well at home where they have won four of their last six games. They are playing well offensively and scored nine goals in their last three games. They’ve also played well on special teams, converting over 21 percent of their power play opportunities. The Islanders usually play well defensively, but they struggled in recent games, giving up at least four goals in four of their last five games, so expect them to have a hard time slowing down the Penguins in this game. The Islanders have lost four of their last five games and four of their last five road games. They’ve struggled offensively in recent road games, scoring only eight goals in their last four road games. They’ve also struggled on special teams, converting only 17 percent of their power play opportunities. The Penguins aren’t great defensively, but they play better at home and won’t have trouble slowing down the Islanders in this game. Go with Pittsburgh to cover the spread. |
02-20-23 | Seattle Kraken -141 v. Sharks | 0-4 | Loss | -141 | 10 h 30 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Sharks look to snap their losing streak and step up on their home ice but the Kraken look like one of the best teams in the Western Conference and look to control this game. The Kraken, who average 3.52 goals per game, should find the back of the net throughout the game with Jordan Eberle, Jared McCann, and the rest of the forward unit carrying the puck into the offensive zone and creating open shots with quick passes. The Kraken should limit a Sharks offense that has scored only four goals in their last three games with Vince Dunn, Adam Larsson, and the rest of the defensive unit creating turnovers in the defensive zone and limiting shooting lanes, allowing goaltender Martin Jones to make plenty of big saves. The Kraken should win the game with a strong performance on the road to win their third game in a row. |
02-19-23 | Blue Jackets v. Coyotes -115 | 2-3 | Win | 100 | 12 h 40 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units In the previous meeting, the Coyotes scored two goals in each of the three periods, and Columbus did not even get on the board until scoring three late goals after they already trailed by five. Ingram made 30 saves in that game while two Columbus netminders allowed six goals on just 18 shots. That Arizona dominated the Blue Jackets is not surprising. This team is not very good at either end of the rink, ranked 30th in both goals allowed per game and goals scored. They get that odd game where things come together now and again, but they have struggled all season, especially on the road. Arizona is not doing well, but they have the offense to make this a tough night for the Blue Jackets. |
02-19-23 | Maple Leafs -260 v. Blackhawks | 3-5 | Loss | -260 | 9 h 8 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Blackhawks look to pull off the upset on their home ice but the Maple Leafs are one of the best teams in the NHL and look to overwhelm them from the first period. The Maple Leafs should find the back of the net at will against a Blackhawks defense that allows 3.63 goals per game with Mitch Marner, Auston Matthews, and the rest of the forward unit establishing a strong offensive zone presence and creating open shots with effective passes near the net. The Maple Leafs, who allow only 2.65 goals per game, should limit the Blackhawks' offense, which averages only 2.43 goals per game, with Mark Giordano, Justin Holl, and the rest of the defensive unit creating turnovers in the defensive zone and limiting shots on the net, allowing goaltender Ilya Samsonov to make plenty of big saves. The Maple Leafs should win the game in a dominant win on the road. |
02-19-23 | Predators v. Wild -185 | 3-4 | Win | 100 | 5 h 14 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Predators are looking to pull off the upset but I like the Wild to dominate this game from the first period. The Wild should find the back of the net at will with Kirill Kaprizov, Mats Zuccarello, and the rest of the forward unit carrying the puck into the offensive zone and creating open shots with great puck movement. The Wild, who allow only 2.82 goals per game, should limit the Predators' offense, which averages only 2.69 goals per game, with Jared Spurgeon, Jonas Brodin, and the rest of the defensive unit creating turnovers in the defensive zone and limiting shooting lanes, allowing goaltender Filip Gustavsson to make plenty of big saves. The Wild should win the game and cover the spread in a dominant win on their home ice. |

02-18-23 | Sabres -115 v. Sharks | 4-2 | Win | 100 | 10 h 43 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units San Jose faces two big challenges in this game. The first is that they simply cannot match up against this high-powered Sabres offense. The Sabres are averaging nearly a goal more per game and are still allowing fewer goals per contest. Buffalo had a bit of a rough patch to begin the month, scoring just five goals through the first three games but broke out of that in a big way on Wednesday. They have now scored 22 goals in their last six road games. The other problem is that the Sharks are terrible at home. They are 5-13-7, the worst record in the league, and one of just two teams who have not won at least 10 games in their own barn. In fact, they have four fewer victories than the second-worst home team (Anaheim). That is bad news when facing a Buffalo team who is one of the best road teams in the NHL. Buffalo all the way. |
02-18-23 | Rangers v. Flames -135 | 2-3 | Win | 100 | 9 h 16 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Rangers are having a great season but I like the Flames to step up on their home ice and control this game. The Flames, who average 3.15 goals per game, should find the back of the net at will with Elias Lindholm, Tyler Toffoli, and the rest of the forward unit establishing a strong offensive zone presence and creating open shots with great puck movement. The Flames should limit the Rangers' offense with Rasmus Andersson, Noah Hanifin, and the rest of the defensive unit creating turnovers in the defensive zone and limiting shots on the net, allowing goaltender Jacob Markstrom to make plenty of big saves. The Flames should win the game with a much-needed bounce-back performance on their home ice. Take the Flames money line as home Favorites. |
02-18-23 | Capitals v. Hurricanes -194 | 1-4 | Win | 100 | 7 h 18 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Capitals look to snap their losing streak but the Hurricanes look like one of the best teams in the league and with nine wins in their last 10 games look to control this game from the first period. The Hurricanes, who average 3.35 goals per game, should pile on the goals with Martin Necas, Andrei Svechnikov, and the rest of the forward unit carrying the puck into the offensive zone and creating open shots with great puck movement and quick cross-ice passes. The Hurricanes, who allow only 2.67 goals per game, should limit the Capitals' offense with Brady Skjei, Brett Pesce, and the rest of the defensive unit creating turnovers in the defensive zone and limiting shots on the net, allowing goaltender Frederik Andersen to make plenty of easy saves. The Hurricanes should win the game and cover the spread in a dominant win on their home ice. |
02-18-23 | Islanders v. Bruins -240 | 2-6 | Win | 100 | 4 h 20 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Bruins have won three of their last four games and three of their last four home games. They have played well offensively, scoring 14 goals in their last four games. They’ve also played well on special teams, converting over 24 percent of their power play opportunities. The Islanders have done well when it comes to killing penalties, but they haven’t been able to slow anyone down in recent games, giving up at least four goals in three of their last four games. They are also playing on consecutive nights and will be dealing with some fatigue, so expect them to have a hard time slowing down the Bruins in this game. The Islanders have lost three of their last four games and six of their last seven road games. Despite their slump, they continue to play well offensively, scoring 10 goals in their last three games. They have struggled on special teams, converting only 17 percent of their power play opportunities. Unfortunately for them, the Bruins have done a great job killing penalties and they don’t give up a lot of goals, holding opponents to six goals in their last four games, so expect them to keep New York’s offense in check. |
02-15-23 | Rangers -189 v. Canucks | 6-4 | Win | 100 | 5 h 39 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The New York Rangers blue line and goalkeeper Igor Shesterkin will shut down the high-scoring Vancouver Canucks on Wednesday. New York is holding opponents to an average of only 2.62 goals per game. New York scores an average of 3.32 goals per game and added power to its attack when acquiring Vladimir Tarasenko from the St Louis Blues. Tarasheko has scored one goal in two appearances for the Rangers, but has six seasons in the NHL with 30 goals or more. The Rangers have won 20 of their last 27 overall and beat up on weaker opponents, winning 41 in the last 58 versus a team with a losing record. Vancouver is allowing an average of 4.02 goals per game which is next to last in hockey. The Canucks have lost six of the last seven against the team with a winning record. |
02-15-23 | Lightning v. Coyotes +1.5 | 0-1 | Win | 100 | 4 h 45 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Lightning are having a great season but I like the Coyotes to step up on their home ice and take advantage of a team playing on the second game of a back-to-back. The Coyotes should pile on the goals with Lawson Crouse, Clayton Keller, and the rest of the forward unit carrying the puck into the offensive zone and creating open shots with effective puck movement. The Coyotes also look to build off a game where they only allowed two goals and limit the Lightning offense with Troy Stecher, Shayne Gostisbehere, and the rest of the defensive unit creating turnovers in the defensive zone and limiting shots on the net while goaltender Karel Vejmelka blanks the shots on the net. The Coyotes should win the game, pull off the upset, and provide great odds in the process as home Underdogs. |
02-15-23 | Blackhawks v. Maple Leafs -1.5 | 2-5 | Win | 100 | 2 h 42 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Looking at the offenses in the last four games, there is a bit of a difference as Chicago is averaging 2.5 goals per game while Toronto is scoring 3.25 goals per game in that stretch. Diving into the power play percentage throughout the season, there is a massive difference with the Blackhawks being 26th in the sport with an 18.5 power play percentage while the Maple Leafs are fourth in all of hockey with a 25.4 power play percentage. All in all, go with the Toronto Maple Leafs to win this game at home. |
02-14-23 | Bruins -115 v. Stars | 3-2 | Win | 100 | 9 h 59 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Bruins looked rusty and a bit flat in their first game back after a long layoff. They now face a Dallas team that is coming off a loss themselves and won they beat 3-1 at home way back in October. Dallas won't run and hide from the Bruins with the league's 12th ranked scoring offense but they will defend and keep the game tight. Dallas has scored more than two goals just once in its last six games. Boston has scored 30 goals in its last seven wins. Expect the B's to pull out a close win by pumping in at least three goals on the Stars, which will be enough. |
02-14-23 | Seattle Kraken v. Jets -140 | 2-3 | Win | 100 | 9 h 32 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Jets, who average 3.21 goals per game, should pile on the goals against a Kraken defense that allows 3.11 goals per game, with Kyle Connor, Pierre-Luc Dubois, and the rest of the forward unit establishing a strong offensive zone presence and creating open shots with effective puck movement while Josh Morrissey generates shots on the net from the blue line. The Jets, who allow only 2.60 goals per game, should limit the Kraken offense with Josh Morrissey, Brenden Dillon, and the rest of the defensive unit creating turnovers in the defensive zone and limiting shots on the net, allowing goaltender Connor Hellebuyck to make plenty of big saves. The Kraken should win the game with a strong performance on their home ice to extend their win streak to three games. |
02-14-23 | Senators v. Islanders -177 | 3-2 | Loss | -177 | 8 h 4 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Senators are going to be dealing with fatigue issues with this game being the second game of a back-to-back situation and their third game in four nights here. They have issues in net with Talbot being out for the last three weeks and Forsberg being done for the year, leaving unproven commodities between the pipes. Sorokin, if he played on a team that had any kind of competent offensive firepower, would probably be a Vezina candidate based on his numbers. Instead, he’s a .500 goaltender despite a 2.41 GAA and six shutouts this season. New York needs to string some wins together to make a move in the playoff picture and facing a tired Senators team works in their favor. Look for Sorokin to slam the door and deliver a victory for the hosts in this contest. |
02-13-23 | Red Wings v. Canucks -115 | 6-1 | Loss | -115 | 12 h 21 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Red Wings are looking to build off their recent win and sweep the season series but the Canucks look to bounce back on their home ice and control this game. The Canucks, who average 3.34 goals per game, should pile on the goals with Elias Pettersson, J.T. Miller, and the rest of the forward unit establishing a strong offensive zone presence and creating open shots with great puck movement. The Canucks should limit the Red Wings' offense with Quinn Hughes, Luke Schenn, and the rest of the defensive unit creating turnovers in the defensive zone and limiting shots on the net, allowing goaltender Spencer Martin to make plenty of big saves. The Canucks should win the game with a much-needed bounce-back performance on their home ice. |
02-13-23 | Coyotes v. Predators -241 | 4-2 | Loss | -241 | 10 h 24 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Arizona is the 3rd worst road team in the NHL so far this season, going 6-20-6 away from home thus far, currently riding an 18-game skid on its travels, with eight of those defeats coming by a margin of at least two snipes. In fact, a whopping 11 of the previous 16 overall setbacks of the Coyotes have been by more than one marker, with three of their most recent four losses to the Predators also recording a goal-gap of at least two tallies. The Predators, who have notched six victories in their last eight overall outings, meanwhile, have triumphed by more than one goal in seven of their past 12 wins. |
02-12-23 | Sharks v. Capitals -180 | 4-1 | Loss | -180 | 4 h 17 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Capitals should find the back of the net at will against the Sharks, who allow 3.74 goals per game, with Alexander Ovechkin, Dylan Strome, and the rest of the forward unit carrying the puck in the offensive zone and creating open shots with great puck movement. The Capitals, who allow only 2.83 goals per game, should limit the Sharks' offense with Erik Gustafsson, Nick Jensen, and the rest of the defensive unit creating turnovers in the defensive zone and limiting shots on the net, allowing goaltender Charlie Lindgren to make plenty of big saves. The Capitals should win the game and cover the spread in a dominant win on their home ice. |
02-11-23 | Coyotes v. Blues -190 | 5-6 | Win | 100 | 11 h 47 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Coyotes have won three of their last five games, but they’ve been terrible on the road, losing their last 16 road games. They have struggled offensively on the road, scoring only five goals in their last five road games. They have also struggled on special teams, converting on 18 percent of their power play opportunities. The Blues aren’t great defensively, but they played better in recent games, giving up 13 goals in their last four home games, and won’t have trouble keeping Arizona’s offense in check. The Blues have struggled in recent games and split their last four home games. They are playing well offensively, scoring 11 goals in their last three home games. They have also played well on special teams, converting over 22 percent of their power play opportunities. The Coyotes aren’t very good at killing penalties and they’re giving up close to four games per game on the road. They are also playing on consecutive nights and will be dealing with fatigue, so expect them to have a hard time slowing down the Blues in this game. |
02-11-23 | Capitals v. Bruins -183 | 2-1 | Loss | -183 | 6 h 20 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Bruins come into this matchup rested and ready to go. They suffered through the briefest of winless streaks, failing to pick up a win in three straight games prior to the all-star break. The Bruins now will look to further distance themselves from the rest of the pack in the Eastern Conference and will have the benefit of all-star goalie Linus Ullmark taking the net with a week's worth of rest. The Bruins have the edge in every category in this matchup, including health as the Capitals will likely be missing two wings in this game. Look for the Bruins to pick up where they left off in their first game back. |
02-11-23 | Islanders -200 v. Canadiens | 3-4 | Loss | -200 | 3 h 22 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The New York Islanders are not having the best of seasons, but are tied on points for the 8th and final spot in the Eastern Conference and have plenty of incentive to win on Saturday. In contrast, Montreal is next to last in the Eastern Conference standings as many players are on the injury list and are out for extended periods or for the rest of the season. Montreal has lost 45 of its last 62 when playing against the team with a losing record. The visiting team (NYI) in this matchup has won four of the last five. New York has won four of its last five overall and will be in much better playing shape as they have played twice since the All-Star Game break, while Montreal will be playing its first game in 11 days. New York goalie Ilya Sorokin has posted five shutouts this season and faces a Montreal side that is scoring an average of only 2.55 goals per game. |
02-11-23 | Canucks v. Red Wings -130 | 2-5 | Win | 100 | 3 h 55 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Canucks look to pull off the upset but the Red Wings look to build off a big win and control this game from the first period. The Red Wings should create plenty of scoring chances against a Canucks defense that allows 3.96 goals per game with Dylan Larkin, Dominik Kubalik, and the rest of the forward unit controlling the puck in the offensive zone and creating open shots with great puck movement. The Red Wings look to build off a game where they allowed only one goal and limit the Canucks offense with Filip Hronek, Jake Walman, and the rest of the defensive unit creating turnovers in the defensive zone and limiting shots on the net, allowing goaltender Ville Husso to make plenty of big saves. The Red Wings should win the game with a strong performance on their home ice. |
02-10-23 | Seattle Kraken v. Rangers -178 | 3-6 | Win | 100 | 9 h 29 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Kraken look to wrap up their road trip on a high note but the Rangers, who have won three games in a row, look to dominate this game on their home ice. The Rangers, who average 3.22 goals per game, should pile on the goals with Artemi Panarin, Mika Zibanejad, and the rest of the forward unit establishing a strong offensive zone presence and creating open shots with great puck movement. The Rangers, who allow only 2.63 goals per game, should limit the Kraken offense with Adam Fox, Ryan Lindgren, and the rest of the defensive unit creating turnovers in the defensive zone and limiting shots on the net, allowing goaltender Igor Shesterkin to make plenty of big saves. The Rangers should win the game with a strong performance on their home ice to win their fourth game in a row. |
02-09-23 | Oilers -185 v. Flyers | 1-2 | Loss | -185 | 7 h 7 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units As well as the Oilers have performed on the road lately, the Flyers have done the opposite when skating on own ice. Philadelphia is currently riding a four-game losing skid at Wells Fargo Center, having been beaten by more than one marker in half those contests. Edmonton, on the other hand, has triumphed in five consecutive matchups away from home, posting victories by a margin of at least two snipes on four occasions. In fact, seven of the previous nine road wins of the Oilers have recorded a goal-gap of at least two tallies, while the very last six setbacks of the Flyers against Edmonton have all been by more than one goal. |
02-08-23 | Wild v. Stars -131 | 1-4 | Win | 100 | 10 h 13 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The very last four overall contests of Dallas, two of the previous three outings of Minnesota and the most recent two trips of the Wild to American Airlines Center have all gone past regulation. So, a draw on a 3-way moneyline (+335) is the most obvious choice here! Still, do also consider backing the home team in this one! Despite the visitors dominating this series of late, triumphing on the very last four occasions (two wins apiece for each side), the Stars have still notched 30 victories in their previous 41 head-to-head matchups against Minnesota in Texas. Dallas has also performed well versus opponents from the Central Division, banking four wins on the last five tries. The Wild, meanwhile, have dropped six of their most recent eight road contests, currently riding a four-game losing skid on their travels. |
02-07-23 | Oilers -155 v. Red Wings | 5-2 | Win | 100 | 9 h 22 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Red Winn look to win on their home ice but the Oilers are looking to build off a strong first half of the season and control this game from the first period. The Oilers, who average 3.74 goals per game, should create plenty of scoring chances with Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl, and the rest of the forward unit carrying the puck into the offensive zone and creating open shots with quick passes near the net. The Oilers should also limit the Red Wings' offense, which was shut out in their previous game, with Darnell Nurse, Cody Ceci, and the rest of the defensive unit creating turnovers in the defensive zone and limiting shots on the net, allowing goaltender Stuart Skinner to make plenty of big saves. The Oilers should win the game with a dominant performance on the road. |
02-06-23 | Canucks v. Devils -240 | 4-5 | Win | 100 | 11 h 38 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Canucks are looking to turn around their season but the Devils are having a great season and look to dominate this game from the opening puck drop. The Devils, who average 3.47 goals per game, should create plenty of scoring chances against a Canucks defense that allows 3.92 goals per game, with Jack Hughes, Jesper Bratt, and the rest of the forward unit carrying the puck into the offensive zone and creating open shots with quick passes near the net. The Devils, who allow only 2.65 goals per game, should limit the Canucks offense with Dougie Hamilton, Ryan Graves, and the rest of the defensive unit creating turnovers in the defensive zone and limiting shots on the net, allowing goaltender Vitek Vanecek to make plenty of big saves. The Devils should win the game and cover the spread in a dominant win on their home ice. |
02-06-23 | Lightning -117 v. Panthers | 1-7 | Loss | -117 | 10 h 11 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Even though the recent road escapades of Tampa Bay have not brought in too many reasons for celebration, as the team has managed to muster just four victories on its past 10 trips, a game away at the Panthers is more than likely to extend the current win run of the Lightning to four fixtures. Despite a decent domestic form, which has seen Florida win four of its previous five home outings, the Cats have still dropped three of their last four matchups overall. They are a disappointing 1-5 in their most recent six Monday contests and have been beaten by opponents with a winning percentage above the .600 mark on five of the past seven occasions, losing to the Bolts in their previous four head-to-head encounters in Sunrise. |
02-01-23 | Bruins -128 v. Maple Leafs | 5-2 | Win | 100 | 5 h 43 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units This is going to be a great game between two of the best teams in the NHL. The Maple Leafs look to win on their home ice but the Bruins look to bounce back from three rough losses and control this game. The Bruins should create plenty of scoring chances with David Pastrnak, Brad Marchand, and the rest of the forward unit controlling the puck in the offensive zone and creating open shots with great puck movement. The Bruins, who allow only 2.12 goals per game, should limit the Maple Leafs' offense with Hampus Lindholm, Brandon Carlo, and the rest of the defensive unit creating turnovers in the defensive zone and limiting shots on the net, allowing goaltender Linus Ullmark to make plenty of big saves. The Bruins should win the game with a strong performance on their home ice. |
01-31-23 | Kings v. Hurricanes -200 | 4-5 | Win | 100 | 10 h 43 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Los Angeles has done extremely well lately. Especially on the road, where the team from the City of Angels has bagged five victories on the last seven occasions. The recent record of the Kings against Carolina, though, is a completely different story. L.A. has dropped its past six overall decisions against the Hurricanes, losing by more than one goal in five of those games. The team has also failed to win any of its previous four trips to Raleigh, being beaten by a margin of at least two markers on each occasion, outscored 20-5. The most recent six losses of the Kings overall have also recorded a goal-gap of at least two strikes, while six of the past 10 triumphs of the ‘Canes have all been by more than one tally. |
01-31-23 | Senators -175 v. Canadiens | 5-4 | Win | 100 | 10 h 40 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Senators are on a three-game win streak and look to control this game from the first period. The Senators look to build off a five-goal game and find the back of the net at will against a Canadiens defense that is allowing 3.68 goals per game with Brady Tkachuk, Claude Giroux, and the rest of the forward unit carrying the puck into the offensive zone and creating open shots with effective puck movement. The Senators should limit a Canadiens offense that is averaging only 2.52 goals per game with Thomas Chabot, Jake Sanderson, and the rest of the defensive unit creating turnovers in the defensive zone and limiting shots on the net, allowing goaltender Anton Forsberg to make plenty of big saves. The Senators should win the game to sweep the home-and-home series and extend their winning streak to four games. |
01-28-23 | Flyers v. Jets -210 | 4-0 | Loss | -210 | 10 h 56 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Jets should find the back of the net at will against the Flyers, who allow 3.22 goals per game, with Kyle Connor, Pierre-Luc Dubois, and the rest of the forward unit carrying the puck into the offensive zone and creating open shots with great puck movement. The Jets' defense, which is allowing only 2.62 goals per game, should limit the Flyers' offense, which averages only 2.76 goals per game, with Josh Morrissey, Dylan DeMelo, and the rest of the defensive unit creating turnovers in the defensive zone and limiting shots on the net, allowing goaltender Connor Hellebuyck to make plenty of big saves. The Jets should win the game and cover the spread in a dominant win on their home ice. |
01-28-23 | Kings v. Lightning -195 | 2-5 | Win | 100 | 10 h 53 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Lightning, who have won back-to-back games, look to control this game from the first period. The Lightning, who average 3.60 goals per game, should pile on the goals with Nikita Kucherov, Steven Stamkos, and the rest of the forward unit establishing a strong offensive zone presence and creating open shots with great puck movement and strong centering passes. The Lightning, who allow only 2.94 goals per game, should limit the Kings' offense with Victor Hedman, Mikhail Sergachev, and the rest of the defensive unit creating turnovers in the defensive zone and limiting shooting lanes, allowing goaltender Andrei Vasilevskiy to make plenty of big saves. The Lightning should win the game and cover the spread in a dominant win on their home ice to win their third consecutive game. |
01-28-23 | Bruins -148 v. Panthers | 3-4 | Loss | -148 | 9 h 0 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units With the Panthers currently riding a three-game losing skid, playing with no rest (0-6 in their last six contests without a breather) and likely forced to dress third string netminder Alex Lyon for a consecutive start during a back-to-back set (he has lost his only previous appearance versus Boston), expect the Bruins to run riot tonight! The B’s have already won four of their past five matchups against Florida, beating the Cats by a margin of at least two snipes in three of those games. Eight of the previous nine overall victories of Boston have all also been achieved by more than one marker, while a whopping 13 of Florida’s last 16 setbacks have all been registered with a goal-gap of at least two strikes. |
01-27-23 | Flames v. Seattle Kraken -110 | 5-2 | Loss | -110 | 11 h 9 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Back in November, Seattle beat Calgary 5-4 as a +195 road underdog, while the Flames responded with a 3-2 victory as -115 road favorites in December. I’m looking for another tight battle between these two divisional foes. Calgary is arguably a better defensive team than Seattle, but I would lean on the Kraken’s prolific offense to make a difference. The Flames will have to deal with fatigue on the second night of a back-to-back. On the other side, the Kraken will be fired up to pick up where they left off. Seattle destroyed Vancouver last Wednesday, and just a week ago, the Kraken beat New Jersey 4-3 in overtime. |
01-27-23 | Senators v. Maple Leafs -195 | 6-2 | Loss | -195 | 8 h 13 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Senators have followed up a victory with a defeat on four of the past five occasions, losing by a margin of at least two strikes in each of those setbacks. So, a similar outcome in their upcoming clash at the Maple Leafs on Friday most definitely holds a great plausibility! A whopping 18 of Ottawa’s 26 losses this season have already been registered with a goal-gap of at least two markers. Toronto, meanwhile, has won by more than one tally in five of its previous eight victories and is riding a four-game triumph run against the Sens, beating them by a margin of at least two strikes in two of those matchups. |
01-26-23 | Devils -123 v. Predators | 4-6 | Loss | -123 | 11 h 53 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Predators look to win on their home ice but the Devils are having a great season and look to control this game from the first period. The Devils, who average 3.47 goals per game, should pile on the goals with Jack Hughes, Jesper Bratt, and the rest of the forward unit carrying the puck into the offensive zone and creating open shots with great puck movement. The Devils, who allow only 2.60 goals per game, should limit the Predators' offense with Dougie Hamilton, Ryan Graves, and the rest of the defensive unit creating turnovers in the defensive zone and limiting shots on the net, allowing goaltender Vitek Vanecek to make plenty of big saves. The Devils should win the game with a strong performance on the road to win their third game in a row. |
01-26-23 | Bruins v. Lightning +1.5 | 2-3 | Win | 100 | 10 h 8 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units We know how good Tampa Bay is on home ice, posting an 18-4-1 record on the year after taking down Minnesota in their game Tuesday night. The problem for the Lightning is that they are dealing with a Bruins team that has been dominant regardless of venue this year. While Boston is a sparkling 22-1-3 on home ice, they are still extremely dangerous on the road, posting a 16-4-1 record as the visitors this season. The Bruins are tied for the league in goals for per game while they are leading the league by a wide margin in goals against per contest. That makes them extremely dangerous, even against a team that has plenty of firepower offensively. The Bruins have won five straight meetings and this makes it six straight as they prevail on the road. |
01-26-23 | Penguins +106 v. Capitals | 2-3 | Loss | -100 | 10 h 55 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Capitals look to win on their home ice but the Penguins look to step up and control this game. The Penguins, who average 3.28 goals per game, should find the back of the net at will with Sidney Crosby, Jake Guentzel, and the rest of the forward unit carrying the puck into the offensive zone and creating open shots with great puck movement. The Penguins should also limit the Capitals' offense with Marcus Pettersson, Brian Dumoulin, and the rest of the defensive unit creating turnovers in the defensive zone and limiting shooting lanes, allowing goaltender Tristan Jarry to make plenty of big saves. The Penguins should win the game with a strong performance on the road. |
01-25-23 | Canucks v. Seattle Kraken -160 | 1-6 | Win | 100 | 9 h 43 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units This seems a perfect spot for the Kraken to finally get one over the Canucks. Vancouver will have to deal with fatigue on the second night of a back-to-back, while Seattle had three days to rest and prepare for Wednesday’s clash. The Kraken have struggled a bit to score in their last few games, and the matchup against the Canucks’ leaky defense is a perfect opportunity for redemption. Seattle might miss Andre Burakovsky (G13, A25), but the Kraken have plenty of dangerous weapons in their arsenal, so I’m going with the hosts to win. |
01-25-23 | Hurricanes -106 v. Stars | 3-2 | Win | 100 | 7 h 15 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Stars look to win on their home ice but the Hurricanes look to control this game from the first period. The Hurricanes, who average 3.22 goals per game, should pile on the goals with Sebastian Aho, Andrei Svechnikov, and the rest of the forward unit carrying the puck into the offensive zone and creating open shots with great cross-ice passes. The Hurricanes, who allow only 2.65 goals per game, should also limit the Stars' offense with Brady Skjei, Brett Pesce, and the rest of the defensive unit creating turnovers in the defensive zone and limiting shots on the net, allowing goaltender Frederik Andersen to make plenty of big saves. The Hurricanes should win the game with a strong performance on the road. |
01-25-23 | Islanders v. Senators -125 | 1-2 | Win | 100 | 5 h 15 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Islanders are looking to pull off the upset but the Senators look to step up at home and control this game. The Senators should create plenty of scoring chances with Brady Tkachuk, Tim Stützle, and the rest of the forward unit carrying the puck into the offensive zone and creating open shots with great puck movement. The Senators should also limit an Islanders offense that averages only 2.92 goals per game with Jake Sanderson and Thomas Chabot creating turnovers at the blue line and limiting shots on the net, allowing goaltender Cam Talbot to make plenty of big saves. The Senators should win the game with a strong performance on their home ice. |

Rating: 2 Units |
01-24-23 | Panthers v. Penguins -140 | 6-7 | Win | 100 | 10 h 12 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Panthers look to pull off the upset on the road but the Penguins look to step up and control this game. The Penguins, who average 3.20 goals per game, should pile on the goals with Sidney Crosby, Jake Guentzel, and the rest of the forward unit carrying the puck into the offensive zone and creating open shots on the net with great puck movement. The Penguins should also limit the Panthers' offense with Marcus Pettersson, Jeff Petry, and the rest of the defensive unit creating turnovers in the defensive zone and limiting shots on the net, allowing goaltender Tristan Jarry to make plenty of big saves. The Penguins should win the game with a strong performance on their home ice. |
01-24-23 | Sharks v. Red Wings -140 | 2-3 | Win | 100 | 10 h 7 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Sharks are looking to pull off the upset but I like the Red Wings to step up and control this game on their home ice. The Red Wings should find the back of the net at will against a Sharks defense that allows 3.73 goals per game with Dylan Larkin, Dominik Kubalik, and the rest of the forward unit controlling the puck in the offensive zone and creating open shots with great puck movement. The Red Wings should also limit the Shares offense with Filip Hronek, Jake Walman, and the rest of the defensive unit creating turnovers in the defensive zone and limiting shooting lanes, allowing goaltender Ville Husso to make plenty of big saves. The Red Wings should win the game with a strong performance on their home ice. |
01-24-23 | Wild v. Lightning -163 | 2-4 | Win | 100 | 2 h 39 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Both teams have struggled in their last couple of games as the opposing teams have put up plenty of goals. The Wild has sputtered a bit on the road and they looked overmatched against the Panthers Saturday night. Minnesota will have Fleury back between the pipes but it’s tough to get excited about facing the Lightning at the Amalie Arena, especially when it’s Vasilevskiy between the pipes. In his career, Vasilevskiy is a sparkling 143-46-14 with a 2.46 GAA, a .919 save % and 14 shutouts in 209 career games at the Amalie Arena. Tampa Bay is a stellar 17-4-1 at home this season and the Lightning get the upper hand in this one as the Wild continue to struggle defensively. |
01-23-23 | Islanders v. Maple Leafs -220 | 2-5 | Win | 100 | 10 h 56 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Islanders are eager to turn their season around and look to pull off the upset but the Maple Leafs are having a great season and look to control this game from the first period. The Maple Leafs, who average 3.36 goals per game, should constantly find the back of the net with Auston Matthews, Mitch Marner, and the rest of the forward unit establishing a strong offensive zone presence and creating open shots with effective puck movement. The Maple Leafs, who allow only 2.64 goals per game, should limit an Islanders offense that is scoring only 2.94 goals per game, with Mark Giordano, Justin Holl, and the rest of the defensive unit creating turnovers in the defensive zone and limiting shots on the net, allowing goaltender Ilya Samsonov to make plenty of big saves. The Maple Leafs should win the game and cover the spread in a dominant win on their home ice. |
01-23-23 | Panthers v. Rangers -125 | 2-6 | Win | 100 | 10 h 39 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Panthers look to win on the road but the Rangers look to build off a strong season and control this game from the opening puck drop. The Rangers, who average 3.11 goals per game, should pile on the goals against a Panthers defense that allows 3.38 goals per game, with Mika Zibanejad, Artemi Panarin, and the rest of the forward unit carrying the puck into the offensive zone and creating open shots with great puck movement while defenseman Adam Fox generates shots on the net from the blue line. The Rangers, who allow only 2.63 goals per game, should limit the Panthers' offense with Adam Fox, Ryan Lindgren, and the rest of the defensive unit creating turnovers in the defensive zone and limiting shots on the net, allowing goaltender Igor Shesterkin to make plenty of big saves. The Rangers should win the game with a strong performance on their home ice. |
01-22-23 | Jets v. Flyers +145 | 5-3 | Loss | -100 | 9 h 27 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Philadelphia Flyers will look for their 10th win in 13 games when they host the Winnipeg Jets tonight. The Flyers posted a hard-earned, 2-1 road victory against the Detroit Red Wings on Saturday thanks in large part to 30 saves from goaltender Carter Hart. Philadelphia also played gritty defense and blocked 31 shots, eight from Ivan Provorov. More than once, Provorov went sprawling to the ice to block a shot. Scott Laughton and Noah Cates each scored one goal, and Hart preserved the victory with a scintillating pad save in the final few seconds against Lucas Raymond. Consider that the Jets are 8-23-1 in the last 32 meetings in Philadelphia.. |
01-22-23 | Penguins v. Devils -138 | 1-2 | Win | 100 | 5 h 34 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Devils have won five of their last six games. They are playing very well offensively, scoring at least four goals in eight of their last 10 games. They’ve also played well on special teams, converting over 20 percent of their power play opportunities. The Penguins have done a good job killing penalties, but they aren’t very good defensively, giving up 15 goals in their last five road games, so expect them to have a hard time slowing down the Devils in this game. The Penguins have won four of their last seven games, but they’ve lost six of their last seven road games. They have struggled offensively on the road, scoring only 12 goals in their last five road games. The Devils are great at killing penalties and they play well defensively at home, holding opponents under three goals per game, so expect them to keep Pittsburgh’s offense in check. Go with New Jersey to cover the money line. |
01-21-23 | Kings v. Predators -113 | 3-5 | Win | 100 | 10 h 11 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Even though the Kings are currently riding a two-game winning run against the Predators, and Nashville has failed to win any of its past five outings contested on Saturdays, do back the home team in this one! While sitting 3rd in the Pacific Division, Los Angeles has still been pretty inconsistent lately, splitting both its most recent eight matchups overall, as well as its very last eight fixtures on the road. The Preds, meanwhile, have triumphed in three of their past four domestic outings and, most importantly, have already beaten the Kings in nine of their previous 12 meetings, notching four victories in their last five head-to-head encounters at Bridgestone Arena. |
01-21-23 | Blackhawks v. Blues -221 | 5-3 | Loss | -221 | 10 h 8 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Chicago has won two straight and four out of the last five but will play on the road against a St Louis Blues’ team that has also won two straight and four out of the last six. Chicago sits last in the Western Conference, while St Louis is 10th but only two points behind the eighth and final playoff spot currently held by Calgary as the season closes in on its final ⅓. St Louis goalie Jordan Binnington has won each of his last two starts and has allowed an average of just 1.50 goals per game over that stretch. Chicago is next to last in scoring, as the Blackhawks are averaging only 2.37 goals per game and are allowing 3.63 goals per game. Chicago has lost 43 of its last 60 overall and 43 of its last 62 played on the road. St Louis has four of its last five against a team from the Central Division. |
01-21-23 | Wild v. Panthers -105 | 3-5 | Win | 100 | 8 h 15 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Instead of Marc-Andre Fleury and Bobrovsky in net here, we get Gustavsson and Lyon between the pipes. While Florida has played better of late, the fact remains that their goaltending continues to be suspect, forcing them into high-scoring affairs if they want to put a game in the win column. The Panthers do have home-ice going for them here as they are 11-6-3 as the home team on the year. Minnesota put up a dud in their showing against the Hurricanes and it is tough to have faith in them after what we saw in Thursday’s beatdown. Lyon doesn’t have a lengthy track record but if Florida’s offense is clicking, they should be able to skate away with a home win here. |
01-20-23 | Avalanche v. Canucks +140 | 4-1 | Loss | -100 | 13 h 59 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Canucks are +145 underdogs against the Avalanche. With those odds, though, it is definitely worth the gamble to back Vancouver. It might seem unreal, but the ‘Nucks are actually riding a three-game winning streak versus Colorado, having beaten the team from Denver by more than one snipe in two of those games. The Canucks have also snatched 15 victories in their last 21 domestic encounters against the Avs, who have managed to triumph in just two of their previous five road assignments, banking seven defeats in their most recent 11 fixtures overall. |
01-20-23 | Senators v. Penguins -142 | 1-4 | Win | 100 | 10 h 10 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Senators won the recent game in overtime but the Penguins look to step up on their home ice and even up the score from the recent game. The Penguins should pile on the goals against the Senators, who have allowed 3.25 goals per game, with Sidney Crosby, Jake Guentzel, and the rest of the forward unit carrying the puck in the offensive zone and creating open shots with great puck movement. The Penguins also look to limit the Senators' offense that is scoring only 2.95 goals per game with Marcus Pettersson, Jan Rutta, and the rest of the defensive unit creating turnovers in the defensive zone and limiting shots on the net, allowing goaltender Casey DeSmith to make plenty of big saves. The Penguins should win the game with a strong performance on their home ice. |
01-19-23 | Capitals -200 v. Coyotes | 4-0 | Win | 100 | 9 h 42 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Coyotes look to build off a recent win and pull off the upset on their home ice. However, the Capitals look to step up after a rough loss and control this game from the first period. The Capitals, who average 3.19 goals per game, should find the back of the net at will against a Coyotes defense that allows 3.61 goals per game, with Alexander Ovechkin, Dylan Strome, and the rest of the forward unit carrying the puck into the offensive zone and creating open shots with effective puck movement. The Capitals should also limit a Coyotes offense that averages only 2.66 goals per game with Nick Jensen, Dmitry Orlov, and the rest of the defensive unit creating turnovers in the defensive zone and limiting shots on the net, allowing goaltender Darcy Kuemper to make plenty of big saves. The Capitals should win the game and cover the spread in a dominant win on the road. |
01-19-23 | Jets v. Maple Leafs -160 | 1-4 | Win | 100 | 8 h 39 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Jets look to pull off the upset on the road but the Maple Leafs look to build off a big win and control this game. The Maple Leafs, who average 3.38 goals per game, should find the back of the net at will with Auston Matthews, Mitch Marner, and the rest of the forward unit establishing a strong offensive zone presence and creating open shots with quick passes. The Maple Leafs, who allow only 2.67 goals per game, should limit the Jets' offense with Morgan Rielly, Justin Holl, and the rest of the defensive unit creating turnovers in the defensive zone and limiting shots on the net, allowing goaltender Matt Murray to make plenty of big saves. The Maple Leafs should win the game with a strong performance on their home ice. |
01-19-23 | Ducks v. Blue Jackets -162 | 5-3 | Loss | -162 | 8 h 37 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The only advantage in this matchup between two of the worst three teams in the NHL, is home ice advantage which goes to Columbus. The Anaheim Ducks will be playing the third game of a six-game road trip and have lost each of the first two on the trip as well as each of the last five overall. Anaheim is scoring the fewest goals in hockey at 2.27 goals per game and allowing the most goals at 4.18 goals per game. Anaheim has lost 12 of its last 14 played on the road. There have been very few bright spots this season for Columbus but one of them is the Blue Jackets have won four of the last five when playing against the team from the Pacific Division. |
01-18-23 | Lightning -165 v. Canucks | 5-2 | Win | 100 | 13 h 40 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Tampa Bay Lightning are playing much better at both ends of the ice then are Vancouver Canucks. Tampa Bay is scoring an average of 3.60 goals per game and allowing an average of just 2.88 goals per game, while Vancouver is allowing an average of 3.93 goals per game and scores an average of 3.40 goals per contest. Tampa Bay has won 21 of its last 28 overall and beats up on Western Conference opponents, winning 37 of the last 54. Tampa Bay has won each of the last five games head to head versus Vancouver and the Lightning have won seven of the last eight overall against the Canucks. Tampa Bay goalie Andre Vasilevskiy has 20 victories in 31 appearances between the pipes, a 2.45 goals against average and defeated the Canucks last Thursday |
01-18-23 | Stars -148 v. Sharks | 3-5 | Loss | -148 | 13 h 37 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Stars have triumphed in three of their previous four head-to-head matchups against the Sharks. And while only one of those victories has come by a margin of more than one snipe, do expect Dallas to dominate the proceedings on Wednesday! Three of the past four victories of the Stars in San Jose have already recorded a goal-gap of at least two markers, while four of the most recent five overall wins of the team from Texas have all been by more than one strike. Six of the the very last 10 setbacks of the Sharks, meanwhile, have all delivered the Men of Teal a loss by at least two goals. |
01-18-23 | Bruins -170 v. Islanders | 4-1 | Win | 100 | 10 h 13 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Islanders are looking to win on their home ice but the Bruins are one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference and look to control this game from the first period. The Bruins, who average 3.81 goals per game, should create plenty of scoring chances with David Pastrnak, Brad Marchand, and the rest of the forward unit establishing a strong offensive zone presence and creating open shots with great puck movement. The Bruins, who allow only 2.12 goals per game, should limit the Islanders' offense with Hampus Lindholm, Charlie McAvoy, and the rest of the defensive unit creating turnovers in the defensive zone and limiting shots on the net, allowing goaltender Linus Ullmark to make plenty of big saves. The Bruins should win the game with a dominant win on the road. |
01-18-23 | Penguins -115 v. Senators | 4-5 | Loss | -115 | 10 h 45 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Senators look to win on their home ice but the Penguins look to find favorable matchups on both ends of the ice. The Penguins look to build off a four-goal game and find the back of the net at will against a Senators defense that allows 3.23 goals per game with Sidney Crosby, Jake Guentzel, and the rest of the forward unit carrying the puck into the offensive zone and creating open shots with effective puck movement near the net. The Penguins should also limit a Senators offense that has only scored one goal in the last two games with Marcus Pettersson, Jan Rutta, and the rest of the defensive unit creating turnovers in the defensive zone and limiting shots on the net, allowing goaltender Casey DeSmith to make plenty of big saves. The Penguins should win the game with a dominant win on the road. |
01-17-23 | Blue Jackets v. Predators -193 | 1-2 | Win | 100 | 7 h 25 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Blue Jackets are looking to turn around their season but the Predators look to step up on their home ice and dominate this game. The Predators should find the back of the net at will against a Blue Jackets defense that allows 3.95 goals per game with Filip Forsberg, Matt Duchene, and the rest of the forward unit controlling the puck in the offensive zone and creating open shots with great puck movement while Roman Josi generates shots on the net from the blue line. The Predators should also limit the Blue Jackets' offense with Ryan McDonagh, Roman Josi, and the rest of the defensive unit creating turnovers in the defensive zone and limiting shots on the net, allowing goaltender Kevin Lankinen to make plenty of big saves. The Predators should win the game and cover the spread in a dominant win on their home ice. |
01-17-23 | Panthers v. Maple Leafs -168 | 4-5 | Win | 100 | 9 h 45 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units Toronto is tough at both ends of the ice, as the Maple Leafs are scoring an average of 3.34 (10th) goals per game and are allowing an average of just 2.61 (4th) goals per game. Toronto has received excellent goaltending from three goalies. No. 1 goalie Ilya Samsonov has a 2.33 goals against average, while Matt Murray has a solid 2.56 goals against average and Erik Kallgren, who has filled in when one of the other two have been injured, has a 2.67 goals against average. Florida has lost six of the last seven when playing against a team that has a winning record and on the road and the Panthers have lost five of the last seven overall. Florida will be playing its second straight game in as many nights on the road when facing Toronto. The Maple Leafs have won 13 of their last 18 games overall. |
01-17-23 | Ducks v. Flyers -193 | 2-5 | Win | 100 | 9 h 30 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Ducks look to pull off the upset but the Flyers look to bounce back from a rough loss and control this game from the first period. The Flyers should pile on the goals with Travis Konecny, Kevin Hayes, and the rest of the forward unit carrying the puck into the offensive zone and creating open shots with effective puck movement. The Flyers should also limit a Ducks offense that is scoring only 2.26 goals per game with Travis Sanheim, Ivan Provorov, and the rest of the defensive unit creating turnovers in the defensive zone and limiting shooting lanes, allowing goaltender Samuel Ersson to make plenty of big saves. The Flyers should win the game with a dominant performance on their home ice. |
01-17-23 | Jets -220 v. Canadiens | 1-4 | Loss | -220 | 7 h 31 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Canadiens have won two of their last three games and look to win the upcoming game and provide great odds in the process. The problem is that the Jets look like one of the best teams in the league and look to control this game on both ends of the ice. The Jets, who average 3.34 goals per game, should find the back of the net at will against a Canadiens defense that allows 3.68 goals per game, with Kyle Connor, Pierre-Luc Dubois, and the rest of the forward unit establishing a strong offensive zone presence and creating open shots with great puck movement. The Jets, who allow only 2.59 goals per game, should limit the Canadiens' offense with Josh Morrissey, Dylan DeMelo, and the rest of the defensive unit creating turnovers in the defensive zone and limiting shots on the net, allowing goaltender Connor Hellebuyck to make plenty of big saves. The Jets should win the game with a dominant performance on the road. |
01-16-23 | Senators v. Blues -103 | 1-2 | Win | 100 | 6 h 8 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units St Louis has not played that well this season, but the Blues take advantage of opponents with a losing record, winning 20 of the last 29 in that situation. St Louis has also won nine of its last 12 when their opponent gave up five goals or more in the previous game. Ottawa has struggled when playing away from home as the Senators are 8-10-2 on the road this season. Ottawa has lost 43 of its last 64 when facing an opponent from the Central division. St Louis has won six of the last eight meetings overall against Ottawa. Ottawa is coming off a disappointing loss in which the Senators gave up seven goals to Colorado and Ottawa has been outscored over the last four games by a combined 21-7 and shut out twice during that stretch. St Louis is 2-2 over its last four and has been outscored just 11-10 over that period. |
01-16-23 | Devils -180 v. Sharks | 4-3 | Win | 100 | 2 h 10 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units We’ve seen New Jersey handle business on this road swing, dusting both Anaheim and Los Angeles by multiple goals in their last two games on the road. The Devils are a dangerous team on both ends of the ice as they are top five in both goals per game and goals against per game this season. San Jose has been brutal in their own end this season as they are fifth-worst in the league when it comes to stopping opposing teams from denting the twine this season. The Sharks are a below average team on the offensive end of the ice and they are a miserable 4-12-6 on home ice this season. New Jersey rolls to another road win here as they take care of business. |
01-16-23 | Red Wings v. Avalanche -185 | 3-6 | Win | 100 | 2 h 50 m | Show
Rating: 2 Units The Red Wings look to win on the road but the Avalanche look to build off a dominant win and control this game from the first period. The Avalanche look to build off a seven-goal game and constantly find the back of the net with Nathan MacKinnon, Mikko Rantanen, and the rest of the forward unit carrying the puck into the offensive zone and creating open shots with great puck movement to overwhelm a Red Wings defense that allows 3.34 goals per game. The Avalanche, who allow only 2.83 goals per game, should limit the Red Wings' offense with Cale Makar, Devon Toews, and the rest of the defensive unit crashing turnovers in the defensive zone and limiting shots on the net, allowing goaltender Alexandar Georgiev to make plenty of big saves. The Avalanche should win the game with a strong performance on their home ice. |
