06-09-19 | Bruins +108 v. Blues | Top | 5-1 | Win | 108 | 10 h 41 m | Show |
Boston at St. Louis 8:00 ET Bruins over Blues- It is difficult to believe that this Blues team had the least amount of points in the NHL when the new year started and now here they are one win away from the Cup. Boston took the first game of the series but have lost 3-of-4 and the last two and now are on the brink of elimination. St. Louis dominated shots on goal in those wins except for the last time out when Boston out shot the Blues 39-21 and still got beat. This time Boston hits the nets and wins with their backs to the wall in St. Louis. Take BOSTON! |
06-09-19 | Yankees v. Indians -123 | Top | 7-6 | Loss | -123 | 2 h 10 m | Show |
New York at Cleveland 1:10 ET Indians over Yankees- It appears that Cleveland is getting hot winning 4-of-5 at home while the Yankees are not. The Indians have won their last two while New York has fallen twice-in-a-row and dropped 5-of-6. With New York's Masahiro Tanaka on paternity leave (I didn't even know he was pregnant) Chad Green (1-2, 9.16 ERA) will get the start where his ERA on the road is 12.79. The Tribe will start Shane Bieber (5-2, 3.57) who is 3-0 in his last four starts striking out 38 batters in 26 innings. Take CLEVELAND |
06-08-19 | Cardinals -109 v. Cubs | Top | 4-9 | Loss | -109 | 9 h 37 m | Show |
St. Louis at Chicago Cubs 7:15 ET Cardinals over Cubs- The NL's fiercest rivalry continues in Chicago where the Cubs will host the gated Cardinals. Last week these two played a 3-game set in St . Louis as the Cards swept all three games and yesterday the Cubs took game one of this 3-game set in Wrigley Field and now the home team has won seven meetings this year. The Red-Birds will start Jack Flaherty (4-3, 3.76 ERA) started slowly but has allowed just two runs in his last two outings striking out 15 while walking nine including five shutout innings against the Cubs. Chicago will start veteran Jon Lester (4-4, 3.32) who is 7-5 lifetime with a 2.85 ERA against the Cardinals. Although St. Louis is 2-7 in Flaherty road starts and 6-20 in their last 26 at Chicago and yet they are favored here. Lester other than his last start has been rather inconsistent and falls short here. Take ST. LOUIS! |
06-07-19 | Raptors +4.5 v. Warriors | Top | 105-92 | Win | 100 | 9 h 47 m | Show |
Toronto at Golden State 9:00 ET Raptors (+) over Warriors- All season long 'we' have been led to believe that the Warriors could just turn it on anytime they wished and that they would win with or without some of their important cogs. Now, one of their key ingredients will return as the claim is that Klay Thompson's 'popped' hammy has heeled (? really) and all expect Golden State to just once again control the floor. Toronto is 4-1 ATS in their last five trips to the Bay area and the underdog is 6-1 ATS in the last seven meetings. Take the RAPTORS! |
06-07-19 | Diamondbacks v. Blue Jays -122 | Top | 8-2 | Loss | -122 | 9 h 11 m | Show |
Arizona at Toronto 7:05 ET Blue Jays over Diamondbacks- This pair of MLB also-rans in their respective leagues meet in Toronto after playing a 3-game sets with mirror image results of each other. Arizona posted a win in a 3-game set final game against first place LA Dodgers after losing the first two while the Blue Jays dropped the final in a 3-game set against the first place Yankees after winning the first two. The D'backs who have lost seven of their last 10 will start Merrill Kelly (5-6, 4.41 ERA) who is 2-4 with a 7.14 ERA in six career road starts. Toronto will start veteran Marcus Stroman (3-7, 2.84) who is among the leaders in ERA has had little run support (3.4) in his 13 starts. This time they score against a very hittable pitcher. Take TORONTO! |
06-06-19 | Blues +135 v. Bruins | Top | 2-1 | Win | 135 | 24 h 30 m | Show |
St. Louis at Boston at 8:00 ET Blues over Bruins- After St. Louis won Game 4 I was sure that I would be posting the Bruins in Game 5 but as I've said before things change and I am on the Blues. Since Game 1, Boston's 4-2 win (Megabucks winner), when their shots on goal advantage was 38-20, St. Louis has taken the play away out shooting the Bruins the last three games including a 15-shot advantage 38-23 last time out and 108-70 the last three games. St. Louis is 8-3 on the road in the playoffs including their 3-2 overtime win in Game 2. Take ST. LOUIS |
06-06-19 | Twins v. Indians -110 | Top | 5-4 | Loss | -110 | 8 h 26 m | Show |
Minnesota at Cleveland 7:10 ET Indians over Twins- The home run happy Twins have yet to lose three straight contests or have been swept in a series this season. They have dropped the first of this 3-game set in Cleveland as it is the Indians that have provided the power surge. The Tribe have gone deep seven times against the Twins in the past two days and will send Trevor Bauer (4-5, 3.76 ERA) to the hill to face Minnesota ace Jose Barrios (7-2, 3.27) is 4-2 with a 4.00 ERA in eight career starts against the Indians while Bauer who is 0-4 in his last six starts is 6-7 with a 4.27 ERA lifetime against Minnesota including a start this season where he allowed just one hit with nine strikeouts. Despite his failure to win of late Bauer has allowed just 61 hits in 84 innings. Take CLEVELAND! |
06-05-19 | Raptors v. Warriors -180 | Top | 123-109 | Loss | -180 | 10 h 3 m | Show |
Toronto and Golden State 9:00 ET Warriors (-) over Raptors- There are a couple of trends that are in direct conflict with each other between these two clubs entering Game 3 at Golden State. The first is that the Warriors are just 1-7-1 ATS in their last nine games after an ATS win, while Toronto is 3-11 ATS in their last 14 meetings in California. But, this really may not mean much anyway if the 'Champs' don't get healthy. This point spread at home for the Warriors is the lowest of any playoff game since their championship run started five years ago. But, the thing that sticks in my head more than anything is not the Warriors injuries but the realization that Toronto doesn't know how to win. Since the playoffs started I've hear LeBron James in the best player in the NBA then it started...week 1 of the playoffs. James Harden is the 'one' best player, no Kevin Durant is the best player, no wait it's Stef Curry, no wait its the 'Greek Freak and now Kawhi Leonard is the 'new' Michael Jordan until we see him collapse when it counts. Take GOLDEN STATE! |
06-04-19 | Reds -122 v. Cardinals | Top | 4-1 | Win | 100 | 11 h 27 m | Show |
Cincinnati at St. Louis 8:15 ET Reds over Cardinals- How about them Cardinals, they post the best record in the Nationals league in April and the worst record in May. With wins in their last four contests including a sweep over arch rival Chicago Cubs and claw back over .500. St. Louis will start Genesis Cabrera (0-1, 7.36 ERA) the lefty allowed five runs (3 earned), five hits and two walks in his lone start against Philadelphia. Cincinnati who won the last three series against the Cards last season but are 2-3 this year. Reds starter Luis Castillo (5-1, 2.45) is unbeaten in his last 10 starts (5-0) and gets the win here. Take CINCINNATI! |
06-02-19 | Warriors v. Raptors -125 | Top | 109-104 | Loss | -125 | 27 h 34 m | Show |
NBA Final Game-2 Golden State at Toronto 9:00 ET Raptors over Warriors- Golden State came charging into Toronto riding a six-game playoff winning streak and were blindsided by the Raptors who have now won five straight wins themselves. Now, after the Toronto win in the opener I believe that the Golden State 'action' will 'double-down' here as I can't see how the money would shift. The Warriors are 7-19 ATS in their last 26 games against the Atlantic and the series was a bit low in my opinion to start. Toronto is 6-2-1 ATS in the last nine meetings, has the better record on the season, is the higher seed and is 41-11 SU at home! Take the RAPTORS! |
06-02-19 | Red Sox -118 v. Yankees | Top | 8-5 | Win | 100 | 9 h 47 m | Show |
Boston at New York Yankees 7:05 ET Red Sox over Yankees- The greatest of all MLB rivalry's pits the World Champion Red Sox against baseball's winningest franchise at Yankee Stadium. Boston has dropped four straight and will be sending David Price (2-2, 2.83 ERA) to the mound against New York's veteran lefty CC Sabathia (3-1, 3.48). Price who has allowed just 38 hits in 47.2 innings and is 15-14 with a 4.90 ERA against New York including 2-7 with a 7.71 ERA since joining the Red Sox. He is 1-0 with a 1.53 ERA in his last four starts...take BOSTON! |
06-01-19 | Bruins v. Blues -110 | Top | 7-2 | Loss | -110 | 23 h 25 m | Show |
Boston at St. Louis 8:00 ET Blues over Bruins- After St. Louis won Game 2 I was sure that I would be posting the Bruins here but things change. Here I am aware Boston has won their last four road playoff games but I am also aware that the home team is 4-1 in the last five meetings. They are also 38-18 against the Atlantic Division and 18-7 in their last 25 as home favorites. Take ST. LOUIS! |
06-01-19 | Cubs v. Cardinals -133 | Top | 4-7 | Win | 100 | 9 h 10 m | Show |
Chicago Cubs at St. Louis 7:15 ET Cardinals over Cubs- The Cardinals who posted the worst record in MLB for the month of May (8-18) have won two straight for the first time since April. Chicago hasn't been much better of late losing 4-of-5 and six of their last eight are starting Carlos Quintana (4-4, 3.73 ERA) who has been a bit of a disappointment since coming over from the White Sox who is 5-3 with a 3.75 ERA in nine starts against the Cards. St. Louis will start Jack Flaherty (4-3, 3.77) who started slowing this season but is rounding into form. The Cubs are 3-7 in Quintana's last 10 road starts...take ST. LOUIS! |
05-31-19 | Giants -109 v. Orioles | Top | 6-9 | Loss | -109 | 9 h 17 m | Show |
San Francisco at Baltimore 7:05 ET Giants over Orioles- Today, we are dealing with two of the worst teams in baseball one in each league as last place Baltimore will host last play San Francisco. Now, this one seems a bit odd as the home Orioles are underdogs with their best pitcher Andrew Cashner (5-2, 4.55 ERA) on the mound against the Giants worst Drew Pomeranz (1-5, 6.45). The Giants hurler has lasted just 13 innings in his last four starts allowing 17 runs on 22 hits along with nine walks and yet he is favored here. Baltimore has seven home wins the least in the major and that number won't change today. Take SAN FRANCISCO! |
05-30-19 | Warriors v. Raptors +1 | Top | 109-118 | Win | 100 | 21 h 49 m | Show |
NBA Final Game-1 Golden State at Toronto 9:00 ET Raptors over Warriors- Golden State comes charging into Toronto riding a six-game playoff winning streak while the home Raptors have four straight wins themselves taking down favored Milwaukee after trailing 0-2. From what I've seen so far and I don't think it will change is that the Warriors are going to take down a huge amount of money, so much so between the series and individual games I can't see how the money could shift. The Warriors are 7-18 ATS in their last 25 games against the Atlantic and the series l'price' is a bit low in my opinion and invites Golden State action. Toronto is 5-2-1 ATS in the last eight meetings, has the better record for the season and is the higher seed and is 40-11 SU at home! Take the RAPTORS! |
05-30-19 | Twins v. Rays -139 | Top | 3-14 | Win | 100 | 10 h 44 m | Show |
Minnesota at Tampa Bay 7:10 ET Rays over Twins- Minnesota has turned it around this season with a barrage of homers that lead the majors after struggling with a lack of power all last season. The Twins have won 14 of their last 16 and will be facing a Tampa Bay team that leads the 'bigs' in team ERA with 2.93. They will start Martin Perez (7-1, 2.95 ERA) who has allowed one run or less five times this season. The Rays will counter with Charlie Morton (5-0, 2.54) who is 34-10 since coming over to the American League and get the home edge here tonight. Take TAMPA BAY! |
05-28-19 | Nationals +102 v. Braves | Top | 5-4 | Win | 102 | 9 h 29 m | Show |
Washington at Atlanta 7:20 ET Nationals over Braves- It has been said (in the past) that pitching is 90% of baseball and that should make Washington on of the better teams in the NL as they have two of the best. Tonight, one of those hurlers Stephen Strasburg (4-3, 3.25 ERA) who has allowed just 53 hits in 72 innings gets the start for the struggling Nationals. The problem for the Nats in that they just don't score runs but they are 41-15 in Strasburg's last 56 road starts. Atlanta will start lefty Max Fried (7-2, 2.88) who has won his last three starts and is 7-4 against Atlanta the past four seasons. Take WASHINGTON! |
05-27-19 | Blues v. Bruins -145 | Top | 2-4 | Win | 100 | 11 h 50 m | Show |
St. Louis at Boston 8:00 ET Bruins over Blues- I remember seeing this Stanley Cub Finals match-up 49 years ago as Brad Park, Bobby Orr and Tony Esposito led Boston to a 4-0 series sweep and this is the first time the Blues have been back. St. Louis was in the NHL basement on January 3rd and have gone 30-10-5 since with these clubs going 1-1 in the regular season each winning at home. Although the Blues are 8-3 in their last 11 meetings in Boston they will not be up the Bruins standard as the favorite is 4-0 in the last four meetings overall. Take BOSTON! |
05-27-19 | Brewers -107 v. Twins | Top | 5-4 | Win | 100 | 10 h 5 m | Show |
Milwaukee at Minnesota 7:10 ET Brewers over Twins- Minnesota winners of six straight and 10 of 11 sweeping their last two series against the Angels and White Sox and have pounded their way to a MLB leading 109 homers. The Brewers salvaged the final of a 3-game set against Philadelphia and will send rejuvenated Gio Gonzalez (2-1, 2.39 ERA) to the hill against the disappointing Michael Pineda (4-3, 5.43) who has surrendered 10 home runs in his last 29 innings. Although, Minnesota is 41-16 in their last 57 overall they are just 5-12 in their last 17 inter-league games and oddly enough Milwaukee is 19-7 on Mondays. Starting week off right with the BREWERS! |
05-27-19 | Diamondbacks v. Rockies -110 | Top | 3-4 | Win | 100 | 6 h 8 m | Show |
Arizona at Colorado 3:10 ET Rockies over Diamondbacks- It is getting more and more difficult to 'fade' Zack Greinke (6-2, 2.89) as he seems to get better with each outing. If not for a boneheaded manager yanking Zack Arizona has lost four of his 11 starts twice blowing leads after he's been removed. But, while on the mound he has allowed just 53 hits in 72 innings work with a 0.87 WHIP on the season and even better I his last three starts 0.65 WHIPO and 1.66 ERA. So why is he not favored here? The D'backs just swept three at San Francisco while the Rockies got a 'gift' win handed to them by the Orioles. The Rockies are 6-2 in the last eight meetings and 20-9 in their last 29 home starts against right handers. Somehow...take COLORADO! |
05-26-19 | Braves v. Cardinals -151 | Top | 4-3 | Loss | -151 | 9 h 10 m | Show |
Atlanta at St. Louis 7:05 ET Cardinals over Braves- After posting the best record in the league during April St. Louis has had the AL's worst record in May. Today, Atlanta 's starter Julio Teheran (3-4, 3.67 ERA) has done just the opposite of the Cards, as he struggled in April with a 5.35 ERA and in his four May starts he has an ERA of 0.79. Cardinals starter Jack Flaherty (4-3, 4.19) is also a 'Tale of two Months' as he was 3-1 in April and 1-2 in May with a 4.37 ERA but has held opponents to a .188 batting average his last five outings. Take St. LOUIS! |
05-25-19 | Bucks +2.5 v. Raptors | Top | 94-100 | Loss | -110 | 12 h 42 m | Show |
Milwaukee at Toronto 8:30 ET Bucks (+) over Raptors- Milwaukee has lost three straight for the first time this season as a matter of fact they had lost two-in-a-row just twice this entire season. A week ago 'we' were saying how Kawhi Leonard was aware that he is not the best player on the floor as long as Giannis Antetokounmpo is around and he responded like a true champion. Tonight, it is a matter of survival and the Bucks will be playing aggressive on both ends of the court. Take MILWAUKEE! |
05-25-19 | Diamondbacks v. Giants -120 | Top | 10-4 | Loss | -120 | 7 h 44 m | Show |
Arizona at San Francisco 4:05 ET Giants over Diamondbacks- It's either feast of famine for the Diamondbacks as they just ended a five-game losing streak with an 18-2 victory over the Giants last night. Arizona will start Taylor Clark (0-1, 2.00 ERA) who has nine innings under his belt as he gets his second career start after being called up from Triple-A Reno. San Francisco will start Andrew Suarez (0-1, 4.50) who made 29 starts last season and surrendered three runs in six innings in his lone start this year. Giants get the best of it here. Take SAN FRANCISCO! |
05-24-19 | Red Sox -135 v. Astros | Top | 3-4 | Loss | -135 | 9 h 6 m | Show |
Boston at Houston 8:10 ET Red Sox over Astros- A match-up of those that I consider the two best clubs in the AL and there should be a buzz in the air as Chris Sale (1-5, 4.31 ERA) takes the hill for Boston. Sale is off of a 10 strikeout performance in five innings which comes on the heels of his 17 strike out outing is seven innings. Houston will start Wade Miley (4-2, 3.51) who is 2-2 with a 6.35 ERA in five starts against the Red Sox while Sale is 5-2 with a 2.12 ERA with a 0.84 WHIP in eight starts. Sox have won their last two while the Astros have dropped their last two and I like the pitching match-up. Take BOSTON! |
05-23-19 | Raptors v. Bucks -6.5 | Top | 105-99 | Loss | -110 | 11 h 46 m | Show |
Milwaukee at Toronto 8:30 ET Bucks (-) over Raptors- This series has gone to 'form' as far as 'we' are concerned winning with the Raptors when most had written them off. Milwaukee now seems to be the team in flux if they can't find a way to support Antekounmpo's play they are doomed but they seem to be able to do it at home. Since their opening home loss to Boston the Bucks are 4-0 both SU & ATS and they respond to losses as they are 21-5 ATS in their last 26 games following a straight-up loss. Toronto meanwhile is 1-6 ATS on the road against teams with winning records over 60% and 1-5 ATS on the road overall. I hope the points don't become a factor but I will lay it...take MILWAUKEE! |
05-23-19 | Rays -122 v. Indians | Top | 7-2 | Win | 100 | 7 h 45 m | Show |
Tampa Bay at Cleveland 6:10 ET Rays over Indians- A couple of things surrounding this AL battle as I believe it is 'out with the old and in with the new' as the Rays are becoming a strong threat while the Indians are falling off from pervious levels. Okay, let's see what we have here and it raises an eyebrow. How is it that Tampa Bay is favored on the road and they hadn't even named a starting pitcher and now have listed Ryan Yarbrough (2-1, 8.10 ERA). That maybe not so bad for the Rays as they are 15-7 on the road. Cleveland's Adam Pluto (1-0, 1.50) makes his second career start for the Tribe and is up against to tough club that is 19-7 in their last 26 games on grass. Take TAMPA BAY! |
05-23-19 | Phillies +113 v. Cubs | Top | 9-7 | Win | 113 | 4 h 10 m | Show |
Philadelphia at Chicago Cubs 2:20 ET Phillies over Cubs- This match-up has some of 'us' a bit confused as the first place Cubs are such a meager favorite at home with their ace on the mound. Veteran Jon Lester (3-2, 2.09 ERA) is coming off of his worst performance of the season but has dominated Philadelphia throughout his career and is 8-0 with a 1.49 ERA in 10 starts. When you are that Phillies starter Aaron Nova (4-0, 4.47) who is 1-1 with a 5.12 ERA in three tries against the Cubs. Chicago is 17-7 at home and the Phils are just 10-11 on the road and this 'price' is way too short...Cubs are in trouble today. Take PHILADELPHIA! |
05-22-19 | Reds +100 v. Brewers | Top | 9-11 | Loss | -100 | 3 h 19 m | Show |
Cincinnati at Milwaukee 1:10 ET Reds over Brewers- Yesterday I posted a 'Don't make sense' game and somehow the Padres rallied to defeat Arizona despite the over-whelming trends against 'our' winner. This afternoon there is another 'how can this be game.' Cincinnati is 4-games under .500 and on the road at Milwaukee and the Brewers are 6-games over .500. So, why are the Reds favored here especially when the Brewers starter Zach Davies (5-0, 1.54 ERA) leads MLB starting pitchers in ERA? The answer is Luis Castillo (5-1, 1.90) who's only loss thIs season was a 1-0 defeated the Milwaukee. This tine it's CINCINNATI! |
05-21-19 | Diamondbacks v. Padres -105 | Top | 2-3 | Win | 100 | 12 h 6 m | Show |
Arizona at San Diego 10:10 ET Padres over Diamondbacks- Let me start by saying there is something 'way-wrong' with this 'line' as Arizona sends one of the better pitchers in his time Zack Greinke (6-1, 2.78 ERA) who is 6-0 with a 1.92 ERA in his last nine starts including 2-0 this season against Arizona. Greinke has dominated San Diego and owns a 13-2 record and 2.30 ERA in 24 career starts and yet he is an underdog tonight and that just 'don't make sense.' San Diego's Matt Strahm (1-3, 3.07) gets the nod and he has had one outing against Arizona throwing five scoreless innings in April. The Padres have lost six of their last eight and yet they are the favorite against the D'Backs best. What more can I say other than take SAN DIEGO! |
05-21-19 | Bucks v. Raptors +2.5 | Top | 102-120 | Win | 102 | 12 h 36 m | Show |
Milwaukee at Toronto 8:30 ET Raptors (ML) over Raptors- Does the home court advantage mean that much in the NBA playoffs? It seems to mean something between these rivals and although it took a pair of overtimes to do it the Raptors have a 'renewed' confidence after the Game 3 win. Toronto saw the possibility of going down 0-3 in the second overtime but responded as champions should. The Bucks are good and may have the best player in basketball but they are young and has not been here before. Once again...it's TORONTO! |
05-21-19 | Sharks +150 v. Blues | Top | 1-5 | Loss | -100 | 26 h 23 m | Show |
San Jose at St. Louis 8:00 ET Sharks over Blues- Right now it would the story of the NHL season if St. Louis makes it to the Finals as they had the worst record in all of hockey in mid December. They have won their last two and have been fabulous on the road and they have won twice already at San Jose but have let down in each of their return trips back home losing five of their last nine as hosts. After the way the Bruins swept in the East the West should go seven games. Take SAN JOSE! |
05-20-19 | Twins v. Angels -119 | Top | 3-1 | Loss | -119 | 10 h 55 m | Show |
Minnesota at L.A. Angels 10:05 ET Angels over Twins- Minnesota's Jake Odorizzi (6-2, 2.63 ERA) has won six straight starts including his last start against the Angels last Wednesday. That is his lone career win over Los Angeles as he is just 1-3 with a 5.87 ERA in six career starts. Los Angeles will start Taylor Cole (0-0, 4.91) and he has just 7.1 innings pitched this season all in relief and he is expected to throw a few quick innings and then Felix Pena (2-1, 3.49) is to take over. This may be a bit 'off' but it will work for the Halos tonight. Take the ANGELS! |
05-20-19 | Warriors v. Blazers +4 | Top | 119-117 | Win | 100 | 22 h 52 m | Show |
Golden State at Portland 9:00 ET Trailblazers (+) over Warriors- Before Game 1 of this series all the pundits were expounding on what a great shot Portland had to win the series. Okay, Golden State laid down the lay in the opener and then the Blazers responded in Game 2 getting the cash but blowing a 17-point second half lead and the game. At that point I thought that they were 'toast' and posted Megabucks winner Golden State I Game 3 when most ere expecting backs-to-the-wall performance they they just didn't have it. Well, there is no pressure tonight as they realize reluctantly the series in done. But, with the experts and public now back fully behind the Warriors....Take PORTLAND! |
05-19-19 | Bucks v. Raptors -127 | Top | 112-118 | Win | 100 | 10 h 35 m | Show |
Milwaukee at Toronto 7:00 ET Bucks (+) over Raptors- Like I said after Game 1, I believe there is something special going on around this Milwaukee Bucks team. Maybe the key word was 'team' and not about special players or stats and boy do they have a special player. Guys, we have all seen it and may find some of what we see hard to believe, granted Antetokounmpo plays on the outside and some say that is a short-coming, but like with Marino Rivera 'it don't matter.' Nobody can stop the 'Greek Freak!' One can only hope he is off his game but his game is moving inside and that will always draw fouls. Poor Kawhi Leonard he now 'knows' that he is NOT the best player on the floor. But, although I believe the Raptors are a hoax as a whole they still are in the finals and will respond from their Game 2 embarrassment. Where will Kawhi play next year...No worries...Take TORONTO! |
05-19-19 | Twins v. Mariners -101 | Top | 4-7 | Win | 100 | 6 h 26 m | Show |
Minnesota at Seattle 4:10 ET Mariners over Twins- A pair of clubs that are trending in opposite directions as Minnesota has won five straight while Seattle has dropped their last three. The Twins pounded the Mariners 18-4 Saturday and are now 15-7 on the road whereas Seattle is just 9-14 at home. The Mariners who started the year 13-2 are 9-22 since and will start rookie Yusei Kikuchi (2-1, 3.64 ERA) who has never faced Minny but is unbeaten in his last five starts. The Twins will start Kyle Gibson (4-1, 4.26) who has made nine career starts against Seattle and is 4-2 with a 3.38 ERA, but it won't be enough today. Take SEATTLE! |
05-19-19 | Blues +120 v. Sharks | Top | 5-0 | Win | 120 | 21 h 13 m | Show |
St. Louis at San Jose 3:00 ET Blues over Sharks- While the Bruins have already swept Carolina in the East St. Louis and San Jose are destined to take this series to the max. St. Louis has been particularly strong on the road going 7-2 in their last nine while the Sharks are 3-3 in their last six as hosts. This is one of those series that will play against the obvious and after losing last time out at home most will expect San Jose to rebound at home...NOT. Take ST. LOUIS! |
05-18-19 | Cubs v. Nationals -131 | Top | 2-5 | Win | 100 | 9 h 11 m | Show |
Chicago Cubs at Washington 7:05 ET Nationals over Cubs- Chicago is one of the hottest teams in baseball having won 21 of their last 28 game have taken over the NL Central with a 4-game lead in the loss column already. Washington is just a shell of their former selves as they have now lost 15 of their last 22. The Cubs will start Jon Lester ( 3-1, 1.16 ERA) and he has not allowed a run in his last three starts and four of his last five outings but he is just 2-2 lifetime against the Nationals and will be opposed by Steven Strasburg (3-3. 3.63). Strasburg has been just as tough of late allowing just 22 hits in his last 34.1 innings. Look for the Nats to get it done. Take WASHINGTON! |
05-18-19 | Brewers v. Braves -116 | Top | 3-4 | Win | 100 | 9 h 2 m | Show |
Milwaukee at Atlanta 7:20 ET Braves over Brewers- Both hurlers in tonight's contest have had stints on the sidelines as a the Brewers Chase Anderson (2-0, 3.20 ERA) makes his first start in 10 days after a right middle finger laceration while Kevin Gausman (2-3, 4.50) served a five-day suspension for throwing at Marlins hitters. Atlanta won for the sixth time in their last seven games and are off of season highs in runs (12) and hits (17) and are 7-2 in Gausman's last nine starts. Take ATLANTA! |
05-17-19 | Raptors v. Bucks -6.5 | Top | 103-125 | Win | 100 | 11 h 32 m | Show |
Toronto at Milwaukee 8:30 ET Bucks (-) over Raptors- I was truly sick when the final was posted for Game 1 as the Raptors did their thing late and were out-scored 10-0 to end the game and 'our' point spread dreams. So, what we have now is a club (the Bucks) that just ignore trends and the opposition and just continue to play hard and 'cover.' After what 'we' all witnessed I just believe that Milwaukee is destined to move into the FBA Finals. Take the BUCKS! |
05-17-19 | Brewers v. Braves -133 | Top | 8-12 | Win | 100 | 10 h 43 m | Show |
Milwaukee at Atlanta 7:20 ET Braves over Brewers- After dropping three straight on the road the Brewers have responded with three wins and are now 4-3 on this road trip. Atlanta meanwhile has won five of six after dropping four straight and will start Max Fried (5-2, 3.25 ERA) who has a strikeout ratio of 41-K's and just nine walks in 44.1 innings. Milwaukee will start Jhoulys Chacin (3-4, 4.57) who is 2-4 with a 3.69 ERA in seven career starts against the Braves. The Braves are 19-9 versus the Brewers in the last 28 meetings in Atlanta and get it done here. Take ATLANTA! |
05-16-19 | Blazers v. Warriors -7 | Top | 111-114 | Loss | -105 | 8 h 12 m | Show |
Portland at Golden State 9:00 ET Trailblazers (+) over Warriors- Well, it is obvious that Golden State doesn't need Kevin Durant or Boogie Cousins to win a championship as long as they have Stephen Curry. Curry drained nine 3-pointers in Game 1 and just seems at his best when it means the most as he raises to the occasion. Portland who committed 21 turnovers were just 7-for-28 from 3-point land and six of those were made by CJ McCollum who will have difficulty repeating his performance. Take the WARRIORS! |
05-16-19 | Cubs v. Reds -125 | Top | 2-4 | Win | 100 | 8 h 37 m | Show |
Chicago at Cincinnati 6:40 ET Reds over Cubs- Yesterday's overtime loss to the Reds was just Chicago's third loss in their last 16 games and leaves them with a four-game lead in the loss column over the Brewers in the NL Central. Today, the Cubs will start Jose Quintana (4-2, 3.50 ERA) who os coming off of a loss last time out but has had five quality starts in his last six outings. Cincinnati's Luis Castillo (4-1, 1.76) has gone seven starts without a defeat while allowing just 32 hits in 56.1 innings with 70 strikeouts. Once again it's CINCINNATI! |
05-15-19 | Raptors +6.5 v. Bucks | Top | 100-108 | Loss | -105 | 10 h 57 m | Show |
Toronto at Milwaukee 8:30 ET Raptors (+) over Bucks- There is no doubt who the media will pit against each other in this series as both Toronto's Kawhi Leonard and Milwaukee's Giannis Antetokounmpo actually deserve the label 'Super-Star.' Talking about their talents won't mean as much as how their supporting cast reacts to the 'Conference Finals' pressure. The bucks swept Detroit getting the money in all four, then they dropped Game 1 against Boston and responded with four more wins and 'covers.' The Raptors had to scrap their way through a tough 7-game series against Philadelphia covering just two fo their last six. Battle tested and 4-1 ATS in their last five stops in the Brew City the Raptors will claw their way to a win here. Take TORONTO! |
05-15-19 | Cubs v. Reds -126 | Top | 5-6 | Win | 100 | 8 h 20 m | Show |
Chicago at Cincinnati 6:40 ET Reds over Cubs- The matchup here pits a pair of disappointing pitchers that are still trying to find their way early on this season. The free agent signing of Yu Darvish (2-2, 5.40 ERA) by the Cubs looks like a 'bust' right now as his control has been a major problem while Cincinnati's Sonny Gray (0-4, 4.15) has yet to win in eight starts. Gray who was an All-Star for Oakland in 2015 has allowed just 31 hits in 31 innings but has received little offensive support from his teammates. Chicago is hot winning 22 of their last 28 and have dominated the Reds going 42-19 in the last 61 meetings. After learning these stats it is difficult to understand why the Reds are favored. Take CINCINNATI! |
05-14-19 | Padres v. Dodgers -149 | Top | 3-6 | Win | 100 | 12 h 25 m | Show |
San Diego at L.A. Dodgers 10:10 ET Dodgers over Padres- In with the 'new' and 'out' with the old. San Diego rookie sensation Chris Paddack (3-1, 1.55 ERA) has been better than his record shows and the Padres are 6-1 in his seven starts. Paddack who has surrendered only 18 hits in 40.2 innings of work with 46 strikeouts is matched against 3-time Cy Young Award winner and future HOF and 2014 NL MLV Clayton Kershaw (2-0, 3.31) who also has a WHIP of 0.98. The improved Padres are still not in the Dodgers class and with their ace on the hill they should get the best of these upstarts from the south. Take LOS ANGELES! |
05-14-19 | Blazers v. Warriors -7.5 | Top | 94-116 | Win | 100 | 25 h 51 m | Show |
Portland at Golden State 9:00 ET Warriors (-) over Trailblazers- Don't you think that the Trailblazers are themselves 'surprised' that for the first time since 2000 they are in the Western Conference Finals. Golden State won for fun the other night as Durant and Cousins nursed their wounds and Curry took the first half off and then buried the imposters with 33 second half points as Chris (the Hoax) Paul and Harden failed once again when it matters most. I don't see Portland getting over the initial shock that they actually won and are here against the Warriors. The number don't mean much to me here as I expect the Blazers to fade in the second half. Take GOLDEN STATE! |
05-13-19 | Blues +118 v. Sharks | Top | 4-2 | Win | 118 | 12 h 15 m | Show |
St. Louis and San Jose 9:00 ET Blues over Sharks- The Blues are aware that they will have to win a game on the road at some time this series and after dropping Game 1 in the fashion which the did a 6-3 blowout they are not dragging their tail. St. Louis is the 5-2 in their last seven road games and 16-7 in their. Last 23 overall. As the season moves on they have gotten tougher against better teams going 18-8 against teams with winning records. San Jose is in a great spot but haven't put together a pair of wins since Vegas. Take ST. LOUIS! |
05-13-19 | Astros v. Tigers +150 | Top | 8-1 | Loss | -100 | 10 h 59 m | Show |
Houston at Detroit 7:10 ET Tigers over Astros- Houston has picked up the pace winning their last five in-a-row but return to the road where they are just 10-11. The Astros as a matter of fact are just 8-13 against lefty starters but have been pounding the ball where ever they play of late. Scoring 15 runs Sunday Houston is now hitting over .300 as a team their last 10 games. Detroit will start Matthew Boyd (4-2, 2.86 ERA) who has allowed just 36 hits in 50 innings with 63 strikeouts and is 2-0 against the Astros but with a 5.71 ERA in three appearances. Tough spot for Houston after scoring 15 runs at home and now taking to the road. Take DETROIT! |
05-12-19 | White Sox +103 v. Blue Jays | Top | 5-1 | Win | 103 | 3 h 46 m | Show |
Chicago White Sox at Toronto 1:07 ET White Sox over Blue Jays- The White Sox broke out of a team slump scoring seven runs in their Saturday win against the struggling Blue Jays who have lost nine of their last 11. Scoring has been even more difficult for Toronto to score as they have plated just five runs in their last 47 innings. Chicago will start Lucas Giolito (3-1, 4.06 ERA) who has allowed just 25 hits in 31 innings with 30 strike outs in his last 24 innings of work. Aaron Sanchez (3-3, 3.21) has been good enough but with little offensive support from his teammates scoring just 3.8 runs in his starts. Take WHITE SOX! |
05-11-19 | Blues +114 v. Sharks | Top | 3-6 | Loss | -100 | 10 h 48 m | Show |
St. Louis at San Jose 8:00 ET Blues over Sharks- The difference here between these two will come down to goal tending and St. Louis has the advantage. Jordan Binnington will be between the pipes for the Blues and he has been outstanding as a starter going 24-5-1 while stopping 92% of shots on goal. San Jose will start Martin Jones 36-19-4 who has stopped 89% of shots. Binnington allows 2.04 goals per games while Jones allows 2.9 per contest. The Sharks may be at home but the Blues have the better tender. Take ST. LOUIS! |
05-11-19 | Brewers v. Cubs -137 | Top | 1-2 | Win | 100 | 4 h 18 m | Show |
Milwaukee at Chicago Cubs 2:20 ET Cubs over Brewers- These two rivals have alternated wins and losses their last five games and with the Brewers winnings their seventh straight yesterday 7-0. Milwaukee's staff has a 1.50 ERA during this seven game streak and will be throwing Zach Davies (4-0, 1.56 ERA) who held the Cubs without an earned run back on April 7. Chicago will start Cole Hamels (3-0, 3.38) who defeated the Brewers on April 6 is now 8-3 lifetime against them as the Cubs are 9-3 in their last 12 home games and 20-7 in their last 27 overall and 7-1 after a loss. Take CHICAGO! |
05-10-19 | Warriors v. Rockets -7 | Top | 118-113 | Loss | -115 | 12 h 41 m | Show |
Golden State at Houston 9:00 ET Rockets (-) over Warriors- The talk among many of those 'in-the-know' is that Houston should be made the favorite in this series. After all, Durant is down and the Warriors have shown kinks in their armor. Last season when these two met it was the Rockets that had the 3-2 lead and lost Chris Paul the remaining two game and Golden State survived. This time around it is Golden State that has the 3-2 lead but has incurred the injury to Durant. Houston hasn't lost at home during the post-season (5-0) and keeps that streak alive tonight. Take HOUSTON! |
05-10-19 | Yankees v. Rays -141 | Top | 4-3 | Loss | -141 | 9 h 10 m | Show |
New York Yankees at Tampa Bay 7:10 ET Rays over Yankees- Two of the winningest pitchers in the AL face-off as the Yankees send Domingo German (6-1, 2.35 ERA) against the Rays' Tyler Glasnow (6-0, 1.47) at Tampa Bay. New York who has had 14 players listed on the IL are scraping along and trail the Rays bye 1.5 games for the lead in the AL East. Both starters have been tough to hit as Glasnow has surrendered just 30 hits in 43 innings with 46 strikeouts and not allowing more then two runs in any of his seven starts. Take TAMPA BAY! |
05-09-19 | Braves -102 v. Diamondbacks | Top | 2-3 | Loss | -102 | 10 h 28 m | Show |
Atlanta at Arizona 9:40 ET Braves over Diamondbacks- Atlanta is coming off getting swept by the Dodgers in three games and it is the third time that they have lost a 3-game swept including one to Arizona in Atlanta three weeks ago. Yet, this game opens with the Braves favored because Mike Soroka (3-1, 1.14 ERA) gets the start for the Braves who is just 21-years old and has surrendered just 16 hits in 23.2 innings. Luke Weaver (3-1, 3.29 ERA) gets the nod for Arizona and is 1-1 with a lifetime ERA of against the Braves. Take ATLANTA! |
05-09-19 | Raptors v. 76ers +2 | Top | 101-112 | Win | 100 | 10 h 38 m | Show |
Toronto at Philadelphia 8:00 ET 76ers (+) over Raptors- Philadelphia sure was cocky after they took a 2-1 series lead after their 21-point win in Game 3 as Joel Embiid was the dominate factor. Since then, Embiid has been a non-factor and even a negative (eight turnovers last game) as the flu and sore knees have affected the big man. Toronto has had a huge edge in head-to-head meetings winning 16 of the last 22 meetings ATS and 28-13-2 ATS at Philadelphia. One clue to remember is that much of this series advantage happened while the 76ers were a non-entity. The 76ers have won without Embiid before but I am expecting his return and his play to return to his stellar self. Take PHILADELPHIA! |
05-09-19 | Hurricanes +135 v. Bruins | Top | 2-5 | Loss | -100 | 9 h 42 m | Show |
Carolina at Boston 8:00 ET Hurricanes over Bruins- Since getting blown out 6-0 at Washington back on April 20 Carolina has won six straight and eight of nine including a 4-game swept of the NY Islanders and have had six days rest entering this Game 1 of the Conference Finals. Boston has won their last three scoring 11 goals in what is supposed to be a 'defensive' time (playoffs) for the NHL. As far as the trends regarding this match-up the Bruins have the home advantage as the hosts are 7-2 in the last nine meetings. But, this is not a game-7 and the Hurricanes are blowing into Boston and is 39-17 in their last 56 overall. Take CAROLINA! |
05-08-19 | Avalanche +124 v. Sharks | Top | 2-3 | Loss | -100 | 9 h 49 m | Show |
Colorado and San Jose 9:00 ET Avalanche over Sharks- After losing the way we did in last night in Double-overtime when 'we' Dallas had so many opportunities to win it's difficult to come back with another NHL Game 7 road dog. The Sharks have dominated the Avalanche at home wining 21 of 23 including playoff games one of the loses of which can in Game 2. Colorado is 5-2 in their last seven as underdogs and are 7-3 in the last 10 meetings. Take COLORADO! |
05-08-19 | Celtics v. Bucks -9 | Top | 91-116 | Win | 100 | 10 h 4 m | Show |
Boston at Milwaukee 8:00 ET Bucks (-) over Celtics- What is the 'line' on this game, because a year ago these two met in Milwaukee and the Bucks were a 4-point favorite, and now...Ha. The Celtics are done! If you don't believe so just take a look at the tapes of their last three games. After a dominating Game one 112-90 win at Milwaukee the Celtics were thinking, same old Bucks.' It just goes to show that you can't take anything for granted in professional sports and Boston has lost their 'Mojo' and there is no coming back! Numbers, stats and all that stuff won't mean a thing here. I will be very surprised if the Celtics even put up a fight. Havlicek weeps...Take the BUCKS! |
05-08-19 | Twins v. Blue Jays +100 | Top | 9-1 | Loss | -100 | 8 h 50 m | Show |
Minnesota at Toronto 7:07 ET Blue Jays over Twins- The Blue Jays bats have gone silent as they have been shut out their past two games and have scored three runs or less in seven of eight games plating just 11 runs in those seven games. Minnesota is playing well and is 9-3 overall in their last 12 contests and are 7-3 in the last 10 meetings. The Twins will start Kyle Gibson (2-1, 4.68 ERA) who is 3-1 with a 5.01 ERA against Toronto and is coming off of a loss to the Yankees. Toronto will start winless Trent Thornton (0-3, 4.08) who has thrown better than his record who indicate. He has allowed just 28 hits in 35.1 innings but has received little offensive support at 3.6 runs per. Blue Jays score and win today. Take TORONTO |
05-07-19 | Giants +114 v. Rockies | Top | 14-4 | Win | 114 | 10 h 6 m | Show |
San Francisco at Colorado 8:40 ET Giants over Rockies- Oh, how I'm hurting for San Francisco as an 'old' New York Giants Baseball Club fan it distresses me to see what they are right now. Their line-up is very weak hitting and powerless and their best player is also at the end of a great career and a couple of World Series rings but, nah. Colorado started the season slowly and have been gradually creeping back but have nothing more than inconsistent. Madison Bumgarner (1-4, 3.92 ERA) has to do it all himself as he has received little support getting merely 2-runs per start as they are just 2-7 in his last nine starts. More bad news for Giants backers is that they are 2-17 at Denver winning one game in each of the past two seasons. But, (there's always a but) Bumgarner has found hid 'spot' shutting down the Dodgers in his last start and is 14-8 with a 3.03 ERA versus Colorado and 5-6, 4.32 ERA at Coors Field. Take the GIANTS! |
05-07-19 | Stars +123 v. Blues | Top | 1-2 | Loss | -100 | 10 h 8 m | Show |
Dallas at St. Louis 8:00 ET Home ice advantage is supposed to mean something when you are in a Game 7 in the NHL Playoffs but home ice hasn't had the advantages expected in this series. Each club is 2-1 on the others ice and that pattern has held through the playoffs. Dallas is 11-4 in their last 15 road games and 8-2 as a road dog while the Blues are just 2-6 in their last eight at home. Dallas is 9-4 in the last 13 meetings against the Blues including 4-1 at St. Louis and the underdog is 4-1 in the last five meetings. Take DALLAS! |
05-06-19 | Warriors v. Rockets -115 | Top | 108-112 | Win | 100 | 22 h 58 m | Show |
Golden State at Houston 9:30 ET Rockets (ML) over Warriors- I just believe the Houston will win this game! I am deathly afraid of the Warriors but the Rockets at home are a threat. The thing about them is that I don't think that they have played anywhere near their best as Golden State. Curry has been a hair off his 'norm' and Houston is 8-1-1 ATS in their last 10 games at home and they are 5-2 ATS against the Warriors in the last seven meetings. The 3-time champions can be had and can see the series going back to the Bay area even. Take HOUSTON! |
05-06-19 | Bruins +110 v. Blue Jackets | Top | 3-0 | Win | 110 | 18 h 29 m | Show |
Boston at Columbus Bruins over Blue Jackets- With the two top seeds in front of Boston are out of the tournament they can can set their sights on on the conference finals well rested. The Bruins are 5-2 in their last seven overall and also 5-2 on the road. Although the home team is 9-4 in the last 13 meetings and Boston is 1-4 in their last five meetings in Columbus. This night ends this series. Take BOSTON. |
05-06-19 | Mariners v. Yankees -143 | Top | 3-7 | Win | 100 | 18 h 5 m | Show |
Seattle at New York Yankees 6:35 ET Yankees over Mariners- Both clubs have 19 wins but they feel different about themselves because of the way they got there. Seattle who started the year 13-2 ended a six-game losing streak with an huge over-the-top victory 10-0 against Cleveland. The Yankees have 14 different player on the IL and continue to win with unknowns and reserves and have won 10 of 14. New York's CC Sabathia (1-1, 2.66 ERA) was on the shelf for awhile but has return in fine fashion, 20 innings only 15 hits but has had only 2.5 runs of support per start. But the Bombers are 13-4 in CC's last 17 starts versus Seattle and New York is 21-7 in the last 28 meetings. The Mariners will start veteran Felix Hernandez (1-2, 4.31) and they have struggled going 4-12 in his last 16 starts. Take NY YANKEES! |
05-05-19 | Raptors +2.5 v. 76ers | Top | 101-96 | Win | 100 | 6 h 56 m | Show |
Toronto at Philadelphia 3:30 ET Raptors (+) over 76ers- We all saw it, we saw how Joel Embiid can dominate a game and just destroy the opposition both offensively and defensively. He's a guy that had 33 points, 10 rebounds and five blocked shots in just 28 minutes of play. Philadelphia has won and covered six of their last seven and can take control of the series with a win here but they are just 6-14 ATS against the Raptors in the last 20 meetings and Toronto is 5-0 ATS in their last five games following a straight-up loss of more then 10 points. Take TORONTO! |
05-05-19 | Diamondbacks v. Rockies -135 | Top | 7-8 | Win | 100 | 5 h 41 m | Show |
Arizona at Colorado 3:10 ET Rockies over Diamondbacks- Upon looking at this match-up I am a little miffed that Arizona who has won four straight with ace Zack Greinke (5-1, 3.27 ERA) on the mound is such a heavy underdog. Consider that the Diamondbacks are 12-5 in their last 17 trips to Coors Field. So, lets look at the Rockies with German Marquez (3-2, 2.93) on the bump and Colorado is 6-2 in his last eight home starts. When 'we' see that Grienke is 5-1 with a 4.18 ERA at Coors makes this even more intriguing. This one smells...take COLORADO! |
05-04-19 | Warriors v. Rockets -3.5 | Top | 121-126 | Win | 100 | 12 h 31 m | Show |
Golden State at Houston 8:30 ET Rockets (-) over Warriors- This selection has nothing to do with Chris Paul so if he ever is to have anything when it counts now is a good time to start (especially because 'we' betting on you). Coming off of Megabucks win with Golden State on Tuesday I have no problem coming back with the 0-2 Rockets who have had plenty of time to clear their heads and start 'fresh' after licking their wounds. I believe that the 'calls' that upset the Rockets in Game 1 had a carry-over effect and at the end of Game 2 they just walked off in the final seconds. With four days to stew and recover I expect a big night out of the home team. Take HOUSTON! |
05-04-19 | Cardinals v. Cubs -126 | Top | 5-6 | Win | 100 | 6 h 55 m | Show |
St. Louis at Chicago Cubs 4:05 ET Cubs over Cardinals- The Cardinals bats have cooled off their last two games scoring just once and losing twice entering their sixth straight road game. The Cubs have now won five straight and 16 of their last 22 and will send Yu Darvish (2-3, 5.02 ERA) to the mound. Darvish who has been one of the biggest free agent disappointments has found his old form of late going 2-1 while allowing just 11 hits in 16 innings while posting a 3.24 ERA. St. Louis will start Michale Wacha (2-0, 4.78) who has been great but forever struggles against the Cubs and is 4-8 with a 6.65 ERA in 18 career games including a 1-4 and 5.98 ERA at Wrigley Field. Take CHICAGO! |
05-03-19 | Diamondbacks -103 v. Rockies | Top | 10-9 | Win | 100 | 9 h 18 m | Show |
Arizona at Colorado 8:40 ET Diamondbacks over Rockies- One club that few expected very little out of is the Diamondbacks who lost Goldschmidt among other but have come out strong winning 18 of 31. Colorado started slowly out of the box winning just two of their first 14 but have turned it around somewhat winning 12 of their last 17. But, the Rockies have trouble winning games when (Tyler Anderson 0-2, 11.34 ERA) starts going 5-12 un his last 17 home starts. Robbie Ray (1-1, 4.18) who has been pitching in hard luck will start for Arizona and has allowed just 23 hits in 32.1 innings while Anderson has surrendered 17 hits in his last 11 innings with a 12.34 ERA. Take ARIZONA! |
05-03-19 | Bucks +2.5 v. Celtics | Top | 123-116 | Win | 100 | 10 h 47 m | Show |
Milwaukee at Boston 8:00 ET Bucks (+) over Celtics- Okay, so the zig-zag system worked in Game 2 of this series where you play 'on' the team that lost Game 1 and collect Game 2...perfect. Yeah, to a point, and what happens is that the general 'public' is on to that pattern and it all changes as the 'action' increases. But, the point here is that Milwaukee made a major adjustment in Game 2 and their overall athletic talent took over and evened the series. Although, Boston got the much needed win and split the two games on the road they are now backed up against a team that has learned how to win. Take MILWAUKEE! |
05-03-19 | Islanders +120 v. Hurricanes | Top | 2-5 | Loss | -100 | 7 h 17 m | Show |
N.Y Islanders at Carolina 7:00 ET Islanders over Hurricanes- I know that in tis situation the team leading an NHL Playoff series 3-0 the leading club has a 62% chance for a sweep. I usually pay close attention to the trends but I still believe that the Isles are the better team. Down 0-3 New York know that they have to hustle every minute of play and will be checking close. They have scored just three goals in three games after netting 14 in their four-game sweep of Pittsburgh and must rebound here. Take NEW YORK! |
05-02-19 | Blue Jays v. Angels -149 | Top | 2-6 | Win | 100 | 12 h 44 m | Show |
Toronto at L.A. Angels 10:07 ET Angels over Blue Jays- Both of tonight's starting pitchers have had health issues in recent seasons and have missed a plethora of turns while still being effective when able to take the mound. Toronto's Aaron Sanchez (3-1, 2.32 ERA) has had blister and finger nail problems and hasn't been able to throw more than five innings and is 0-1 with a 3.14 ERA in four career starts. The Angels will start Tyler Skaggs (2-2, 3.15) who will be making his second start in two weeks because of a sprained ankle but has been effective. Take LOS ANGELES! |
05-02-19 | Raptors v. 76ers +1.5 | Top | 95-116 | Win | 100 | 9 h 28 m | Show |
Toronto at Philadelphia 8:00 ET 76ers (+) over Raptors- The starting-five in NBA action is all important as they are the foundation of one's club and Toronto is among the league's best, but that's where it ends for the Raptors. Their bench managed only four points on 2-of-11 shooting in their Game 2 loss and now are at 1-1 as Game 3 tops off in Philadelphia. The 76ers played some defense last time out and held the Raptors to 17 first quarter points. Although Toronto is 14-5 ATS in the last 19 meetings the 76ers are 5-1 ATS in their last six games overall. Take PHILADELPHIA! |
05-01-19 | Blues +110 v. Stars | Top | 2-4 | Loss | -100 | 11 h 44 m | Show |
St. Louis at Dallas 9:30 ET Blues over Stars- Looking at today's NHL matchups the St. Louis Blues look like the most illogical side, I mean they came into the playoffs with the fewest points in late December and were one of the worst teams in the league last year. The Blues lead the series 2-1 and most their improved play in the second half of the year has them on a 5-0 road underdog streak working. St. Louis is 35-17 in their last 52 overall and 20-7 playing on one day's rest. Go with the flow...take ST. LOUIS! |
05-01-19 | Blazers v. Nuggets -3.5 | Top | 97-90 | Loss | -110 | 10 h 28 m | Show |
Portland at Denver 9:00 ET Nuggets (-) over Trailblazers- Portland has been great to their backers for most of the season and even made money in Round 1 over Oklahoma City. The Trailblazers have had just one weak issue and that is their play against the Nuggets especially in Denver. Portland is just 1-6-1 ATS in their last eight meetings and 1-4-1 ATS in their last six meetings in Denver. With the competition getting tougher Portland is just 1-4 ATS in their last five road games overall while the Nuggets are 19-7-1 ATS in their last 27 games against the NBA Northwest. Take DENVER! |
04-30-19 | Cubs -147 v. Mariners | Top | 6-5 | Win | 100 | 11 h 19 m | Show |
Chicago Cubs at Seattle 10:05 ET Cubs over Mariners- Chicago has been slow getting off the mark this season while the Mariners started 13-2 but have come back to the pack since that fast start. A pair of the best hurlers in the 'Bigs' as future Hall of Fame righty 'King' Felix Hernandez (1-2, 3.91 ERA) who is facing the Cubs for just the third time in his career without a decision. The 'Windy City' boys will start Cole Hamels (3-0, 3.16) who has been difficult to hit allowing just 22 hits in 31.1 innings with a 0.99 WHIP. Chicago is 9-3 in their last 12 games while the Mariners are 2-8 in their last 10 home games and 5-16 in their last 21 inter-league games. Take the CUBS! |
04-28-19 | Avalanche v. Sharks -130 | Top | 4-3 | Loss | -130 | 9 h 12 m | Show |
Colorado at San Jose 7:30 ET Sharks over Avalanche- Colorado the eighth seed in the West dropped Game 1 of their opening series against the top-rated Calgary Flames and then ripped off four straight wins to move on. So, once again the Avalanche have lost Game 1 to the Sharks 5-2 and now face going down 0-2. San Jose is 15-2-6 in the last 23 meetings at home between these two and nothing changes here. Take SAN JOSE! |
04-28-19 | Rockets v. Warriors -5 | Top | 100-104 | Loss | -110 | 5 h 44 m | Show |
Houston at Golden State 3:30 ET Warriors (-) over Rockets- well, this is the match-up that most are looking forward to in the West as many believe that if the Warriors are to fall it will be the Rockets that slay them. Houston won three of four during the regular season when it meant more to the Rockets then the Warriors. Golden State was limping to the finish against the Clippers as DeMarcus Cousins is lost for the rest of the year and both Step Curry and Klay Thompson hobbled off of the court at series end. Although Golden State is 10-22-1 ATS in their last 33 at home this is when it counts...Take the WARRIORS! |
04-28-19 | Brewers v. Mets -122 | Top | 2-5 | Win | 100 | 3 h 12 m | Show |
Milwaukee at New York Mets 1:10 ET Mets over Brewers- The Mets have now dropped three straight and are at 13-13 on the season and have yet to establish any consistency. Milwaukee has been up and down and streaking all season with most of the winning coming at home. The Brewers will start Gio Gonzalez who makes his 2019 debut who closed the 2018 season with Milwaukee going 3-0 with a 2.13 ERA down the stretch. So, it seems strange that no one would play Gonzalez who the Yankees has designated to Triple-A ball. Steve Matz (2-1, 4.03 ERA) get the nod for New York and he is 3-1 with a 3.33 ERA lifetime against the Brewers. Take the METS! |
04-27-19 | Spurs v. Nuggets -5.5 | Top | 86-90 | Loss | -110 | 22 h 1 m | Show |
San Antonio at Denver 7:00 T Nuggets (-) over Spurs- This has been an under-valued series that comes down to a Game 7 with both side winning twice at home and losing one as hosts. San Antonio has dominated the money in Denver going 16-7 ATS in the last 23 games. The Spurs just have trouble putting together back-to-back performance as they are 1-5 ATS in their last six after an ATS win and 2-7 ATS after a straight-up win and the Nuggets are 5-2 ATS after a 10-point win. Take DENVER! |
04-27-19 | Blue Jackets v. Bruins -138 | Top | 3-2 | Loss | -138 | 20 h 18 m | Show |
Columbus at Boston 7:00 ET Bruins over Blue Jackets- With all four Division winners losing in the opening round the Bruins my be the 'last Man standing” before it's said and done. Boston has a great opportunity to go up 2-0 on upstart Columbus after taking Game 1 (3-2) their third win in four meetings this season. The Blue Jackets may have difficulty recovering from the hangover after sweeping the top seeded Tampa Bay Lightening. A few trends that project the Bruins are that the Blue Jackets are 1-4 in the last five meetings in Boston and 7-15 in the last 22 meetings overall. Add the home team is 9-2 in the last 11 meetings. Take BOSTON! |
04-27-19 | Cubs -115 v. Diamondbacks | Top | 9-1 | Win | 100 | 10 h 59 m | Show |
Chicago Cubs at Arizona 8:10 ET Cubs over Diamondbacks- Arizona has been a bit of a surprise to date and have won five-in-a-row and 10 of their last 12 while the Cubs have dropped their last two games but are 7-3 in their last 10 outings. The D'backs will start Zack Godley (1-1, 6.67 ERA) who has alternated good and bad starts and he is 1-2 with a 5.14 ERA in four career starts against Chicago. The Cubs will start struggling veteran Yu Darvish (1-3, 5.96) who has shown to be one of the worst free agent signing since the Yankees got Jacob Ellsbury who is just 2-6 with a 5.31 ERA since joining the club. This time it's CHICAGO! |
04-26-19 | Hurricanes +125 v. Islanders | Top | 1-0 | Win | 125 | 9 h 5 m | Show |
Carolina at New York Islanders 7:00 ET Hurricanes over Islanders- Rest is good, but having 10 days off may not be so good. The Islanders who swept their Conference Quarterfinals series (4-0) against Pittsburgh are 3-8 in their last 11 games playing on three days rest and are 0-4 in their last Conference Semifinals games. In head-to-head action the road team is 5-1 in the last six meetings and the Hurricanes are 10-4 in the last 14 meetings in New York. Take CAROLINA! |
04-25-19 | Yankees v. Angels -106 | Top | 5-11 | Win | 100 | 10 h 22 m | Show |
New York Yankees at L.A. Angels 9:07 ET Angels over Yankees- 'Break-up the Yankees'...the cry of the also-rans during the 1950's as they dominated baseball with nine World Series appears in 10 years. Currently, the Yankees are 'all broke up' as they have 13 players on the IL including seven All-stars. But, that isn't keeping New York from winning as they are at a season high six-game winning streak and have won eight of their last nine. Tonight the Yanks will start Masahiro Tanaka (2-1, 2.76 ERA) and he is perfect against the Angels 3-0 with a 1.59 ERA in six career starts. LA will start their ace Trevor Cahill (1-2, 5.47) who has struggled against New York going 1-4 with a 10.09 ERA in seven career appearances against NY. Yet, well, like I said at the top, these Yankees are all 'broke up' and are not the same club. Take LOS ANGELES! |
04-24-19 | Phillies v. Mets +115 | Top | 6-0 | Loss | -100 | 9 h 21 m | Show |
Philadelphia at New York Mets 7:10 Mets over Phillies- This one is a tough one for me on so many levels as I really don't like the starter that I'm going to back and 'like' the pitcher that I'm paying against. My issues start with New York Jason Vargas (1-0, 9.58 ERA) who has been totally ineffective as a Mets after having a career year in Kansas City. I 'saw' Vargas up close and personal in spring training and I believe that I could be a career .300 hitter against the garbage he was tossing up. This season he has already surrendered 17 hits in 10 innings on the season. Philadelphia will start Vince Velasquez (0-0, 2.55) allowing just 13 hits in 18 innings but has had little run support 2.7 per game. But, here it comes there's always a 'but'...Velasquez is 1-4 lifetime against the Mets with a 4.58 ERA in eight starts while Vargas is 2-0 with a 3.86 ERA over the Phillies. Take the NEW YORK METS! |
04-23-19 | Golden Knights v. Sharks -110 | Top | 4-5 | Win | 100 | 11 h 5 m | Show |
Vegas at San Jose 10:00 ET Sharks over Golden Knights- In the Sharks 2-1 overtime Game 6 win at Vegas on Sunday the Golden Knights put 59 shots on goal compared to San Jose's 29. This dominance was wasted as the Sharks won it with a short-handed goal and now can get past Vegas with a home win today. With their short history the Knights have played just one playoff Game 7 a loss to Washington in last seasons' playoffs. Vegas goal Marc-Andre Fleury must be shell-shocked and exhausted are his Easter performance only to fall short. They fall again here. Take SAN JOSE! |
04-23-19 | Phillies v. Mets -127 | Top | 0-9 | Win | 100 | 9 h 37 m | Show |
Philadelphia at New York Mets 7:10 ET Mets over Phillies- A pair of 'sad Zac's' will pitch for both squads as the Phillies will send Zach Eflin (2-2, 3.68 ERA) to the hill while New York will send Zack Wheeler (1-2, 6.35) to the mound. Despite the difference in ERA it could be argued that Wheeler has thrown better allowing just 21 hits in 22.2 innings while Eflin has surrendered 26 hits in 22 innings and is 2-3 with a 5.25 ERA in seven starts against the Mets. Wheelers has had three straight quality starts and is 4-2 with a 3.67 ERA lifetime against Philadelphia. Take the METS! |
04-22-19 | Rockets v. Jazz +3 | Top | 91-107 | Win | 100 | 12 h 14 m | Show |
Houston at Utah 10:30 ET Jazz (+) over Rockets- What can I say about this series? The Rockets have dominated even when they didn't dominate the game. James Harden was 0-15 from the floor to start the play before he made a field goal and scored just 22 in the game. That was well below his ppg average but enough to overcome the Jazz. In Game 4 the roles have been reversed as Utah is now a home underdog and they are 29-13 SU at home. In a last gasp effort the Jazz get it done. Take UTAH! |
04-22-19 | Phillies v. Mets -110 | Top | 1-5 | Win | 100 | 8 h 51 m | Show |
Philadelphia at New York Mets 7:10 ET Mets over Phillies- Despite Sunday's beating I really have confidence in 'our' strongest play today as the Mets host Philadelphia at Citi Field. Okay here's the deal, Steven Matz (1-1, 4.96 ERA) was having a great spring until he ran into this Philly lineup last Tuesday surrendering eight runs without recording an out (6 earned) allowing all eight batter to reach base. This exact situation presented itself to 'us' last week between the Dodgers and Brewers and it was an easy Megabucks winner, I expect the same here. Philadelphia is just 3-7 in their last 10 in New York. Although, the Mets have dropped six of eight they return to start a 10-game home stand. Look for the Mets and Matz to bounce back here in a BIG way. Take NEW YORK! |
04-22-19 | Capitals v. Hurricanes -115 | Top | 2-5 | Win | 100 | 9 h 1 m | Show |
Washington at Carolina 7:00 ET Hurricanes over Capitals- Washington who now lead this series 3-2 has scored 14 goals in their three home games including a 6-0 win Saturday night and are 17-8 in their last 25 overall. The Capitals have dominated the head-to-head action going 19-7 in the last 26 meetings, but, have scored just one goal I two meetings at Carolina getting outscored 7-1. The Hurricanes have some support with trends, as they are 13-3 as the favorite including 5-0 versus the Caps as the home team is 5-0 in the last five meetings. Take CAROLINA! |
04-21-19 | Sharks +165 v. Golden Knights | Top | 2-1 | Win | 165 | 8 h 51 m | Show |
San Jose at Vegas 7:00 ET Sharks over Golden Knights- So, I was speaking with a my letter carrier Chris (also a high school student of mine back in the old days) and he attends virtually ever Golden Knights home games and he is so confident the Knights will close out the series that he not only delivered my mail two hours before my usual delivery and he even brought it to my door. Such exuberance and total blindness to what else can or might happen. Let me say this I don't think San Jose is going to get any 'public' action and even the 'sharps' won't take them either 5-12 in their last 12. Take SHARKS! |
04-21-19 | Diamondbacks +104 v. Cubs | Top | 1-2 | Loss | -100 | 3 h 25 m | Show |
Arizona at Chicago Cubs 2:20 ET Diamondbacks over Cubs- Arizona will start Robbie Ray (0-1, 4.64 ERA) who is winless in four start despite allowing three hits or less in each of his first three outings. The D'backs broke the Cubs four-game winning streak Saturday holding the inconsistent Cubs to four hits three of which were singles. Ray is 1-1 with a 1.88 ERA against Chicago while the 'Baby Bears' will give Tyler Chatwood (0-0, 6.00) who is 5-3 with a 4.37 ERA against Arizona his first start of the season and he is not expected to go deep into this fray. Take the DIAMONDBACKS! |
04-20-19 | Rockets v. Jazz -125 | Top | 104-101 | Loss | -125 | 11 h 58 m | Show |
Houston at Utah 10:30 ET Jazz (-) over Rockets- I had to do a quick double-take when I saw the Jazz come up favored here as they have lost the first two games of this series by and average of 26 points' Houston has been 'hot' winning nine of 10 with their lone loss a 112-111 defeat at OKC and are 8-1 ATS in their last nine overall. The idea that Utah is favored hits me again when we realize the Rockets are 5-1 ATS in their last six meetings in Utah. But, this is playoff time and with the Jazz down 0-2 they will pull out all stops! Take UTAH! |
04-20-19 | Reds -109 v. Padres | Top | 4-2 | Win | 100 | 10 h 58 m | Show |
Cincinnati at San Diego 8:40 ET Reds over Padres- Cincinnati started the season with seven losses in their first seven road games but have managed a pair of wins in San Diego and come up a slight favorite here. The Padres have now dropped five straight and will be sending Eric Lauer (2-2, 4.91 ERA) to the mound and he will be opposed by Luis Castillo (1-1, 1.46) who has 32 strikeouts in 24.2 innings of work this season but is just 0-2 with a 5.17 ERA in three career starts against San Diego. Lauer has given up 21 hits in his last 16 innings of work with an ERA of 6.75 his last three outings. The Padres are just 3-12 on Saturdays and 17-36 in their last 53 home games. Take CINCINNATI! |
04-20-19 | Jets v. Blues -143 | Top | 2-3 | Win | 100 | 7 h 8 m | Show |
Winnipeg at St. Louis 7:00 ET Blues over Jets- Okay this series has gone 5-0 to the visitor and now St. Louis has a chance to change the trend with a win here and close out the Jets. In an NHL oddity the visitor has won 10 of the last 11 meetings between these two and as Winnipeg is 5-0 in their last five trips to the Gateway city and are 13-6 overall in the last 19 meetings. That's why the Blues 'must' win here. Take ST. LOUIS! |
04-19-19 | Dodgers -106 v. Brewers | Top | 5-3 | Win | 100 | 9 h 29 m | Show |
LA Dodgers at Milwaukee 8:10 ET Dodgers over Brewers- The battle of the long ball continues as the Dodgers Cody Bellinger and Christian Yelich match their skills with 10 homers each tied with Khris Davis for the MLB lead with 10. Los Angeles who has won five straight will start Ross Stripling (1-1, 2.92 ERA) who posted his win last Sunday to save the final game against Milwaukee in LA allowing just one run in eight innings and he has a 0.69 ERA in two appearances against the Brewers. Jhoulys Chacin (2-2, 6.52) gets the nod for the Brewers and he is 11-10 with a 4.70 ERA in 27 outings against the Dodgers as he was rocked for six runs in 2.2 innings in that Sunday start at LA. Take the DODGERS! |
04-19-19 | Maple Leafs +134 v. Bruins | Top | 2-1 | Win | 134 | 8 h 9 m | Show |
Toronto at Boston 7:00 ET Maple Leafs over Bruins- These two have alternated wins and are tied 2-2 with the series returning to Boston where the Bruins are 22-10 overall in their last 22 games. But, Boston has trouble posting two consecutive wins as they are 1-4 following a victory and they are 2-5 in their last seven playoff games as a favorite. Toronto has great recovery skills as they are 6-1 after allowing five goals or more. Take the MAPLE LEAFS! |
04-18-19 | 76ers v. Nets +3.5 | Top | 131-115 | Loss | -109 | 9 h 43 m | Show |
Philadelphia at Brooklyn 8:00 ET Nets (+) over 76ers- The image of who these team are is different than the way things play out when they go head-to-head. The Nets and Sixers have spit their four regular season games and have split their two playoff games to date with Brooklyn going 4-2 ATS. Philadelphia's Joel Embiid physically dominated Nets center Jarrett Allen in Game 2 but will not be able to commit flagrant fouls without notice this time around. Brooklyn is 23-18 SU at home while Philly is 17-24 ATS on the road. Take BROOKLYN! |
04-17-19 | Astros v. A's -109 | Top | 1-2 | Win | 100 | 12 h 39 m | Show |
Houston at Oakland 10:05 A's over Astros- 'We' have been riding Houston for the most part during their 10-game winning streak but things look a bit different to me today. To start with they come up an underdog in this contest against Oakland who has lost their last two including a 9-1 loss yesterday to the Astros and have lost five straight to in this series. Tonight, Houston's Wade Miley (1-1, 3.45 ERA) is 5-1 with a 1.40 ERA lifetime against the A's including 5.2 innings of shutout ball in early April is an underdog. Oakland will start Frankie Montas (2-1, 3.18) who is 1-2 with a 5.89 ERA against Houston and yet he is favored here. Take OAKLAND! |
04-17-19 | Jazz +7 v. Rockets | Top | 98-118 | Loss | -107 | 10 h 15 m | Show |
Utah at Houston 9:30 ET Jazz (+) over Rockets- Houston rushed out at a 32-point win in Game 1 as the Jazz forgot that they were the second ranked defensive team in the NBA this season. The Rockets have won the last three in this series while the Jazz have won the previous three meetings. Houston who is 32-10 SU at home is also 24-16-2 ATS while hosting but Utah is 3-1-1 ATS in their last five visits to NASA's home town. But, note that Houston is 6-0-1 ATS in their last seven home games. But, after winning Game 1 by a 122-90 margin I expect Utah to rebound here. Take the JAZZ! |
